This Doctor is a quack!! I am 31 and I have Fibro!!! My hormones have been tested and are in perfect number!!!! This man must have not studied and have not dealt with Fibromyagia! This makes me mad. I have spent so much money and time going from doctor and specialist trying to find out what was wrong with me. I was told i needed a hysterectomy and my gallbladder taken out alone with others. My breast is too big and is causing my back pain. Give me a break & find a cure!
Hypothyroidism can mimic FM, and with FM many people have thyroid issues...but this is not the CAUSE of Fibromyalgia. If it were he wouldn't be the only person who thinks so. Try logging onto the NFRA or NFA websites to learn what Fibromyalgia is before you make any judgments. There are a lot of good (and bad) comments here, but the truth is that FM is still mostly a mystery to the medical community. If it were that simple, we'd all be on thyroid supplements and living happy.

Got fibro? Do yourself a favor and check your medical records to see if you'd taken Cipro, Levaquin, Avelox or any other quinolone antibiotics in the weeks or months prior to your symptoms arising. Doctors give out these terribly poisonous drugs like they're candy, and they are known to cause DELAYED REACTIONS that mimic fibro symptoms nearly perfectly. Because of this delay in reaction time, many people never make the connection between the drugs and their new mysterious health problems.
@troopcom Yep, Levaquin is a NASTY drug. Look up the reviews on askapatient sometime! I myself am completely crippled at the age of 31 due to six days worth of Ciprofloxacin (Cipro) and I can't tell you how many doctors have tried diagnosing me with fibromyalgia because they can't wrap their heads around the fact that an FDA-approved drug could possibly have done this to me. The damage quinolone antibiotics are capable of inflicting is absolutely ENDLESS. They are the stuff of the devil.
I had fibromyalgia and I realized that 2 years of asparate consumption. I came off and 3 days later I felt amazing.. I later discovered I was severly Vitamin D deficant. I started soing 8000 ui daily (cause i live at high latitude) and now I'm just like a healthy person :D I do lots of weight trainign and feel great.
to put what he is saying into perspective. you might have low iron. doctor gives you iron tablets without finding the cause of the low iron. it could well be from bleeding from colon cancer.
likewise, fibromyalgia is a symptom, not a disease. find out WHY you have these symptoms
@ReviewCam trust me, I have had serious health problems misdiagnoed. That includes seizures and a pituitary tumor. Trust me, press for a definitive diagnosis.
First of all, CFS begins at a fairly young age in women. Some of the symptoms differ. Why is it that I have Fibromyalgia when I am euthroid (thyroid hormone is correct amount)? Also, Amour Thyroid is extremely unreliable. All natural thyroid hormone and generic supplements vary in efficacy pill-by-pill and from batch to batch. There are 4 major suppliers of thyroid hormone with formulas that are reliable.
This guy is biased and is full of shit. I was diagnosed with hypothyroidism in 2008 and after taking levothyroxine for two years, it's finally in a normal range, and I'm in pain constantly. I was actually just seen by a specialist who wrote books on Fibromyalgia (Canton, OH) and he said it sounded like post-traumatic (I had three herniated disks and I have been in pain since and it got worse) Fibro. My pelvis began going out of alignment in 2006-10 yrs after being injured then this fibro diag
I am a recovered fibromyalgic who left the care of medical profession to discover the cause and cure of this horrific condition, and I understand this condition from the inside and back out again. This is a good description of symptoms. Symptoms can often be mistaken for the cause, and treatments that help do not cure. Do not give up from failed hope. Keep going! See video:
"Curing Chronic Fibromyalgia - Choosing What Works" by author Valerie Lumley
I am a recovered fibromyalgic who had to leave the medical profession to discover the cause and cure of this horrific condition, and I understand this illness completely from the inside and back out again. I am living proof you can cure this condition without drugs and take back your life. Please do not give up from failed hope and keep going!!!
I'm starting to wonder if this is whats wrong with me?
I've been ill for about 5 months now, can't even work anymore which isn't good.
I have muscle & joint pain everywhere, headaches, stomach ache, i'm so tired, i can't sleep, my memory has become awful, im even losing my hair now. I'm 21... i shouldn't be like this at my age.. Doctors just wont listen to me! Nobody will tell me whats wrong or help me.. I have no idea what to do..
@evakar24 wow. that's really low. are you feeling better now? not only was I anemic but also had a nutritional defiency, low folic acid. few doctors test for that
Not accurate .. had FM since young, not in 40-50's! Nobody listens .. think low/high hyperthalmus function more accurate. Blood tests alwayss 'within normal' so Dr's won't treat! So .. do e'thing in moderation & nil exercise, makes it worse! Housework now kills me, walking hurts like hell, sitting only for short periods .. after sleeping is hell .. wake up sick, tired & cranky, on HRT, no change! Nobody in Australia that I know, gives a shit! Where's a Support Group here?? Drop me a note PLEASE!
Hes talking out his ass! Not All Fibro patients only get FMS from their 30s 40's onwards theres lots of kids & old people out there with it too. I myself have it since my late teens and have had numerous thyroid tests that came back clear.
The thing is with full blood count as a sufferer of fibromyalgia and hypothyroidism (treated 100mcg Thyroxine) it shows normal on blood tests. In sufferers of both disorders they should perhaps look at a supplement of T3 or T4 alongside thyroxine, but it is hard to ask sometimes "hypochondriac complex"
There is no medical hope and will never be. Only remedial treatment can help. Medical help was always misunderstood by doctors and they knows that. You are also developing stomach ache, extreme fatigue, diorrhoea or constipation, poor memory and concentration, sleepless nights, waking up just as you went to bed? Do you really want to get help? No tricks, no scam. Just follow the link and get the answer you need.
I just want to add that, after you are detoxified or have completely ruled out toxicity, you need to replace essential nutrients. Get on a good multi-vitamin and make sure your getting healthy doses of vitamin D, all of the vitamin B's, all of the major minerals like magnesium and zinc. If you remove and then replenish, virtually all disease and symptoms of disease will reverse, including fibromyalgia.
If you are 100% certain you don't have heavy metal toxicity it is probably another kind of toxicity. Maybe flouride or chorine accumulation from water. Flush that stuff out with high doses of Iodine(Lugols or Iodoral). In addition, eat organic foods from local farmers markets and small farms. If you only eat these foods for a long period, any other toxicity will eventually correct itself.
There can be multiple causes of why your cortisol levels are low. Most likely, you are either too stressed out or your HPA axis isn't functioning properly. If you are not stressed out and think your cortisol levels just aren't functioning properly it is because you are toxic. Toxicity sources can be different for everyone but a common one is heavy metals. Do you have amalgam dental fillings, a contaminated water or food source like fish? Remove the source THEN begin a chelation regimen to detox.
I'm going to tell you all what causes fibromyalgia.
It is a lack of thyroid hormone INSIDE YOUR CELLS. The inside your cells part is so important to understand. You can have normal thyroid blood test results and still have fibromyalgia because it's measuring only what is in your blood not your cells.
In order for the thyroid to enter the cells, you need adequate levels of cortisol. Cortisol, produced by the adrenal glands is the gatekeeper for thyroid hormone to the cells.
surely he isn't suggesting that ALL fibromyalgia is due to hypothyroidism??
And it isn't always midlife, I have fibro and am 22 and have had it since I was 20...so it can't be due to low levels or hormones due to being older! Or at least not in my case!
@happysad321 Young people can have hypothyreodism too,or a condition called Hashimoto thyroiditis.I think he was just under stress and didn't have much time to tell.
I have been tested for everything under the sun, and get my thyroid checked every year, as I have a goiter. I do not have hypothyroidism, yet have had fibro for 12 years. I wish it were that simple. he is in the business of selling hormones and vitamins. What a crock.
There is a treatment for Fibro and many other nervous system disorders. Please reseach the drug Low Dose Naltrexone. Loads of videos on Youtube. Watch the Dr Chris Steel Video on Youtube.
I have taken thyroid medicine for 10 plus years. I have blood work done 3-4 times a year. Yet, within the last 3 years, I have had the fibro symptoms and have been diagnosed within the last year. So, do you really think thyroid problems are the real issue and that people don't really have fibromyalgia or CFS? I don't think so....
I was diagnosed and treated for hypothyroidism in the 8th grade. My levels have been normal ever since. I only started experiencing Fibromyalgia after I had Mono in the 12th grade. My levels are still normal yet I have Fibromyalgia. I doubt his statistics are accurate. I don't believe 90% of Fibro patients is simply caused by a thyroid problem. Causation never equals correlation!
The most frequently used blood test for diagnosing hypothyroidism is the "TSH", which in not very sensitive and actually is released from the brain and not the thyroid gland.
@lungdart and you're an expert right? If you are then YOU help us! I have all the symptoms of low thyroid yet my test comes back normal. My Dr refuses to even listen to me., I'm changing drs.
I appreciate any discussion that brings attention to this horrible condition, fibro. I have had the thyroid blood test and mine were in the normal range. Fibro is still rearing its ugly head. Until you have been struck down with this condition you have no idea how much your life is changed. I hope the medical community keeps going back to the drawing board until a cause is found and then possible in my lifetime there will be a cure. Bottom line...I do not believe the thyroid is the cause.
you should be aware that often medical tests may not detect problems. fibromyalgia is from thyroid dysfunction, usually due to nerve interference, but can be exarcerbated by other things.
@hiodr Fibromyalgia is NOT from thyroid disfunction. I have nodules on my thyroid, so I go every year to be checked. My thyroid functions perfectly, always well within normal ranges. This is a crock, and a scam to sell hormones.
you are entirely wrong. since when do you think nodules on your thyroid are normal? i don't care what the stupid medic told you. apparently you are unaware that many times medical tests fail to show evidence of problems which do, in fact, exist.
@hiodr Many, many people have nodules, most without even being aware of it. Once cancer has been ruled out, it is best to just leave them alone, unless they become big enough to interfere with swallowing, breathing, or eating. And yes, I am well aware of that fact, and I have had in-depth thyroid testing done many times. I amnot entirely wrong.
@evakar24 No, he cannot sell antidepressants, only prescribe them, and the pharmaceutical companies make the profit. By creating his own "snake oil" he CAN sell it, and make a profit by preying on the desperation of people looking for relief.
@nybabs63 Ok,but you are aware of doctors who get payed/get ''gifts'' by pharmaceutical companies to push certain/drugs/antidepressants (that do not work)?
I my view every doctor who makes a chronically ill patient feel better is worth his payment!
i am treated for hypothyroidism. i just had a blood test and it is in control. but my fibromyalgia is worse. i am still in constant pain. this has lasted for 3 years. i see 2 separate doctors for the 2 illnesses and they are in touch with each other regarding my case.
my point is, though the 2 diseases may be related, treating hypothyroidism will not make fibromyalgia disappear.
@lungdart.. I agree he is talking out of his bum! Fibromyalgia means: Fibro=fibrous tissues, tendons and ligaments
my = muscles; algia = pain. so it is "in latin" pain in the fibrous tissues, tendons, ligaments and muscles. I have fibromyalgia and have no thyroid problem.
Peoples. Brice E Vickery has several viseos on youtube about the easiest answer to Fibro. I took his Supernutrients and after a month, boom boom, all good again. Do watch them please. Get back to me !
I was suffering from muscle spasms, weakness, fatigue, coldness... got diagnosed with fybromyalgia... tried everything. Couldnt find a cure. Just read that soy causes symptoms of hypothyroidism. The symptoms, which I have been suffering from are exactly the same as hypothyroidism. I used to drink soy milk... my pain started as soon as i started drinking soy. I have just quit soy and my pain has improved 90%. If you suffer from this, check your food. Everything has soy... even vitamins!
He says it's sometimes called CFS. 5% of CFS people dont have ANY pain but they are ill and adding thyroid hormone doesnt make them any better. They are overlapping but not the same illness. plus CFS is an american name for what we brits call ME, which is classified by WHO as a neurological disease. Thyroid doctorsd make money out of ill people with no know cure by prescribing these white pills for £100 consultation.
I have FM and CFS, watch my video post Diana Homes on hypthyroidism, disabled for 30 years with our symptoms. She wasn't allowed to right into the treatment she had but it wasn't just ordinary thyroxine that put her right there are other co morbids and thyroid mimics out there. I am on Armour and hc and various nutrients. If you have the courage to dose to symptoms with the Thyroid hormones you can improve a lot. Ranges are just not right for everybody.
this is total BS-Ive had thyroid testing-and Im miserable!! every MD out there has a stupid theory-but starnge how it never seems to truly fix the problem
I think it is a stress condition-when a body is overwhelmed with a stressor-and it leaves us messed up
@daanmara How do you know that your thyroid is working fine? Because your blood test was within the normal range? Are you converting T4 to T3 properly. If you were more open minded you may no longer be suffering. I had FM but immediately realized it coincided with hypothyroidism. I began to take Armour thyroid hormones that I ordered online because no doctor would treat me, and 3 months later I was fine.
@uclalse Sorry, didn't got your message earlier. How I know it's working fine? Blood tests and Vitamine B12 injections. Energy level went up, but pain's still there. I'm very open minded and have tried a lot of things to get rid of the pain, but no luck so far. By the way, my doctor is open minded too, so no complains about treatments I want to try. She's more then happy to let me try.

This is interesting, I've often thought the symptoms of hypothyroid do run amazingly close to fibromyalgia. Nobody really knows for sure. It's clouded by the fact that some people with this label really have underlying psychiatric issues or secondary gain.
Reminds me of the back pain business. Plenty of snakes on the patient and physician side. Makes it difficult to root out the discogenic back painers from those with lawyers trying to get the public to pay them for staying home.
I agree w/vincent4500 Fibromyalgia Syndrome travels with an entourage. I've suffered for 30 yrs and the older I get the worse they get. I have FMS and CFS...add Recurring Shingles, Rheumatoid Arthrits and seizures...that,s enough to cause depression ! If it were as easy and treating the Thyroid why aren't we doing it???
Explain this to my husband. I've been watching him suffer for years now with fibromyalgia. He has an underactive thyroid, which he takes a medication for. What do you know?! He's still suffering!
I can vouch for this. I suffered for 10 years going to 30 doctors, and was finally diagnosed with fibromyaliga. But after extensive blood tests at a fibro center, My T3 to RT3 ratio was way out of whack, indicating functional hypothyroidism. Unfortunately at least two doctors who did previous thyroid tests told me that I didn't have a thyroid problem, but it looks like they may have missed the boat. The symptoms of fibro are about the same as those of hypothyroidism..
This is interesting! I went to a neurologist b/c all over pain,The blood-test revealed I have Graves Disease, I was given radiation to kill the thyroid,So I became hypothyroid, I am now on supplements for the rest of my life. It's been 10 yrs.and guess what? I STILL HAVE the pain.3 drs. have said I need to see a psychiatrist. I didn't go. Finally I was diagnosed w/fibromyalgia..Does this make sense?
I also had Grave's Disease for a while along with FMS which mysteriously resolved on its own. So both our cases are proof that it's impossible the opposite of what we had can cause fibromyalgia. However, I strongly believe the thyroid is involved as a symptom in fibromyalgia. Some hypo , some hyper. But then again watch Vincent4500, or this doctor's wife, as I would call him, try to rerationalize a lost point.
that shouldve read a "a branch in the wind" for the 3rd blind mab..fibromyalgia is A HELL which Im largley in control of now i hope some of you have the intelligence to understand....for your own sakes and future hope, the wisdom of my words and the fact nkerio is a twat and that Knowledge, when New is always attacked: "Great spirits are always attacked by mediocre minds". Einstein..now ciao, & get the idea Fibromyalgia is a multisystem illlness and as such cant be cured by any one approach
Lol. Moron, this theory is not new by any means. It was posed but disproven by the overwhelming evidence that they are not the same disease and don't always overlap. The most shared and common symptom of fibromyalgia is the tender points that are not common to hypothyroidism. That is the first obvious clue even an amateur like you should not have overlooked. Another clue: Not all fibromyaliga patients are overweight.
THE LAST THING ILL SAY IS: there were 3 blind men in a village square.. a local wise man took them to a nearby elephant and asked them what was in front of them..1 said a snake (the trunk he felt), the 2nd a tree trunk (the foot), the 3rd a branck in the wind (the tail).. That is my point YOURE ALL BLINDED BY IGNORANCE, NATURALLY, BUT I SEE THE BIGGER PICTURE..FIBROMYALGIA IS NOT HYPOTHYROIDISM, CANDIDA & VIRUSES, OR STRESS...ITS ALL THREE AND THEY INTERACT TOGETHER TO CAUSE A 3 DIMENSIONAL HELL
your theory is so wrong, don't be talking about something you know nothing about, talk to ppl who have this disease. the thyroid is involved but not the cause. my daughter has had fibro for over 12 years since she was 19 and was on amour thyroid for a short time, it escalated her symptoms. the disease they call fibromyalgia, which is totally the wrong name for this disease, affects every system in the body including the endocrine system. do more research before going on talk shows please.
So, if Fibromyalgia is indeed a symptom of hypothyroidism, why is it that every time my rheumatologist checks my thyroid the test comes back damn near perfect? Sorry, but there's more to this disease than what you'd like it to be so you can attempt to peddle your "natural solution."
pinkblackcheckers, Dr Skinner from the UK, a world leading Virologist was given Fibromyalgia suffers to find a viral cause..after years of analysis he realised that part of their symptoms fitted Hypothyroidism and treated them as such..he STATES THAT THE CONVENTIONAL TESTING OF THYROID PROBLEMS IS CRAP AND SHOULD BE BASED ON SYMPTOMS & CASE HISTORY NOT AN INACCURATE PIECE OF PAPER, people with fibronyalgia also have T3 to T4 conversion problems which are not tested or widely tested for..
I think Vincent is the good old doc himself here in the video. He must be or he would not be pushing this method and cussing everyone out. No one would be so rude and defensive if it were not his very own method he "discovered". If he is not that doctor, then he is someone the doc wants here to PUSH and Peddle something.
I understand your anger and frustration learnFMnow, and apologise for my angry reaction to your anger, i had severe chronic fibro with CFS for 14 yrs...but through research and trial and error, a massive effort i came to where i'm now..a sorry bout that but mainstream orientated dogmatists with no intellectual capacity lare part of the problem, not the solution..despite this, "we're not loved because were good, were good because were loved".. so i understand your desperation..& good luck
Oh Vincent, one minute you piss me off and the next I just dont know what to think of you. maybe you are just a person with a cure who is trying his damndest to get the point across to others and frustrrated for the doubt. I do have to say I admire your drive to convince. I promise you would not hate me in person. I don't hate you, I just don't know what to make of you.
I bet meeting you in person that people find you to be intelligent and probably a nice person.
fibro sufferers only respond well, like alot of hypothyroidism sufferers in general, to T3 alone or Armour..- why? because they have T4 to T4 conversion probs and some also have 'peripheral resistance to thyroid horme' which means they have to take more than conventionally prescribed by ignorant conventional doc's of these T3(/T4) med's..how ignorant doc's are=radiation treatment near thyroid for sideline issues can actually destroy thyroid tissue/cause hypothyroid probs, they dont know that..
he not tell me te wite or brown vinegar. showman take me to vilage long time.
showman have camira take pictur at vilage. fibroalgia in te eye, te nose with green water coming out. te end of but hurt to. showman say not tru. I find vinegar much. want to stop te smel from but gas to. have you try te vinegar test.
american showman bring me here to find te vinegar. vilage doktor man say I have te fiboroalgia. he say i can have 2 tyroid gland. 1 in te neck. 1 back of pancreas.
you be cure to if you read. he use vinegar to put in te dropings from but. he say if vinegar make dropings turn green i have te tyroid pancreas and make fibroalgia. he can take te tyroid from pancreas an then i have 1 tyroid in neck. vilage doktor say it make te green water from te eye on left. must get vinegar to vilage.
If it was merely a symptom why would the medical field as a whole put it in medical textbooks plus doctors who help people with it? Hmmm shocker. There will always be a few doctors-such as this one(if he is a medical doctor and not a PhD!)-who do not believe in fibro. But there are also doctors who do not believe in autism, HPV, or UTIs. But if we listened to them where would we be in this world?
That being said if my fibro was merely a symptom a hypothyroidism then why do I only have 3 of the 25 symptoms-29 is you count the symptoms of a teen with hypothyroidism. And being diagnosed 7 years ago-and being told Ive had fibro for 10 years-youd think more of these symptoms would have made themselves known now wouldnt you? I think I know my own body. This guy is ignorant and knows nothing-people may not agree with me but its the truth.
Although rare, hypothyroidism can occur in infants, children, and teens. In children and teens, symptoms include behavior problems and changes in school performance. Children and teens may gain weight and yet have a slowed growth rate. Teens may have delayed puberty and look much younger than their age.
Coarse & thinning hair, dry skin, brittle nails, yellowish tint to the skin, slow body movements, cold skin, inability to tolerate cold, feeling tired, sluggish or weak; memory problems, depression or difficulty concentrating; constipation, heavy or irregular menstrual periods that may last longer than 5 to 7 days; enlarged thyroid gland, modest weight gain, 10lb or less, swelling of the arms, hands, legs & feet & facial puffiness, particularly around the eyes; hoarseness, muscle aches & cramps
Ok. I can assume that you would be underweight or have a hard time gaining weight with a thyroid deficiency. You would be "cold" most of the time, losing hair, have changes in skin such as dryness, and of course be very tired.
I am not "cold" except for seldom. I am not underweight, and have none of the symptoms except the exhaustion. Also I wonder why most with thyroid problems have the tests come out abnormal but "we with fibro" might have "normal test results"? Thyroid only (-) with FM?
There has been research to prove that the pituitary gland that secretes TSH is much more sensitive to thyroid hormone than tissues are. So if a person has enough thyroid hormone in his sytem the tsh will read normal, but that doesnt mean the tissues are using it properly. Granted, yor symptoms dont sound like a thyoid issue typically, but that doesnt mean you dont have. Thyroid hormone affects so many different things in the body. It couldnt hurt you to do a trial of armour. Start 1/2 grain
I also recommend you get a thermometer ($5 at walgreens) at take your temperature. Lets see what your metabolism is up to. Take it morning, noon and night and see how low or normal it is.
The only time my temperature is low is when I am sick-like now. And no it's not from something my fibro is a symptom of-it's from a cold being passed living in the dorms of a college. And every time my temperature is checked it is normal. I'm not going to be a hypochondriac and check it constantly. And I also have a thick, rich head of hair. I also am perfect weight for my height thank you.
Hey buddy? I've have fibromyalgia for 7 years now. I get tested for all of this EVERY YEAR. By the way I am also 19 YEARS OLD. hmm I don't think I'm in my midlife. You are the type of guy that pisses me off because you take the so called average data. It took me 3 YEARS to get diagnosed and honestly? I didn't ask to get tested because I thought it had to do with my cheerleading. So Mr. Ignorant why don't you think and do some real research instead of being like every other ignorant doctor I know
Dont listen to what the lab test say about your thyoid levels. The lab test dont work. If you are fibro you should get some armour or some cytomel and do an empirical trial before yu lose more time. If you follow the doctors they will keep you sick forever.
Dude I've had all those tests and more done. I have taken every vitamin, tablet, herbal treatment everything. But the thing is I actually do things like yoga and got OFF TWO OF MY MEDICATIONS. So I think if the doctor's were trying to keep me sick wouldn't they keep me ON the medications instead of, oh I dunno, letting me get off them like I WANT. Doctors do listen to their patients contrary to what you may think.
Oh and it took three years to diagnose-not one visit like this guy made it sound
You can have yourself tested until your blue in the face. If you believe that test are the only answer then be sick for the rest of your life. If you do have thyroid hormone resistance then your temp should be low. Why dont you check it and and see what it reads. If its below 98.2-98.6 your probably hypothyroid; Fibromyalgia is merely of symptom of thyroid hormone resistance. If your able to get off all meds via yoga thats great. My gal is a cert kripalu instructor and she worships yoga to
I said the yoga helped-it didn't get me off all my meds. It's people like you-ignorant, insolent idiots-who know nothings and only see what you want to see. I'm not going to do something just because you and some old fool tells me I don't know my own body. And if Fibromyalgia was merely a symptom, why would it be in medical textbooks and a doctor who helps patients with it? I am in nursing school and it is several of my medical textbooks along with hyperthyroidism
Well Fibro has certainly left you bitter and nasty. I think i know a little something about it. I have had hypothyroidism for 5 years. 2 of those years the docs said everything was fine, even though i was screaming bloody murder i was in so much pain. I lost 3 jobs in a row. The next 2 years i was put on synthroid T4 and continued to suffere although i could at least function. Then i foun armour and got allot better. I had to learn allot about this because the doctors didnt.
I know how you feel. I hated the world to and you a damn good reason to be angry. But dont misdirect your anger. You should be mad at the know nothing doctors who can think for themselves and continue to ignore peoples pleas
*laughing* You think I'm bitter? Hardly. I've helped other who have been diagnosed with fibro who wanted to kill themselves from the pain. I live a happy life-I have an amazing fiancee who supports me and great friends. Nah I'm only bitter and nasty to the ignorant people in the world like you. If I was so bitter you'd think I'd be alone now huh? Oh and they all know about my fibro and take me to my doctor's appointments WHEN I NEED IT-not when the doctor thinks I need it. I don't suffer anymore
I can still feel the pain but I don't suffer. There are the bad days, but suffering? *looks around* I see no suffering here. If anything my doctor helped me to get off the medications I didn't need-not ignore me. I know my anger is directed int he right place-at the ignorant person I am talking to. I'm sorry you lost your jobs, but that's because you are an ignorant fool-I've been able to hold my job for two years now and on the road for a promotion to management.
But good you went out at learned something! But you still have a lot more to learn from what I can tell. Hope that goes well and doesn't leave you anymore bitter and nasty by learning the truth-fibromyalgia isn't just a symptom. Sorry to burst you're little bubble, but it isn't. I should know now. :] Completely bitterless knowledge as well because I know that at least I am making a real difference in the world by going to school and keeping active.
I agree with Dusky. There is "research" from all kinds of people out there to make a buck off of us. Maybe some methods help a few people and don't do a damn thing for the rest of us. I trust the "research" from reliable sources. This puzzle is not put to together and wont be for years. We merely have pieces to the puzzle with others missing and it has yet to be put together for the full picture.
T4 to t3 conversion is the problem with Fibro patients in this and many other doctors belief. Even though you lab test for dettection of hypothyroidisn are normal via the TSH (range .5-5)doenst mean you are no hypothyroid in the tissues. This is why so many thyroid patients dont do well on synthetic t4 because they dont convert t4 to t3. So they need to supplement with either armour which contains t3 and t4 or just straight t3. If ou are fibro, you owe to yourself to try armour or t3.
well said izzo70, it IS conversion failure of T4to T3 PLUS 'peripheral resistance to thyroid hormone', as per Dr Lowe's website, that is the thyroid component of fibro/CFS, an other third is immune system damage from years of undiagnosed hypothyroidism, immune damage requiring often anti candida diet/supplements..and finally the last third of this jigzaw puzzle is the stress, depression and loss of life which is natural to not being correctly diagnosed/treated for a chronic hormonal prob..!
Ignorant moron. They should strip him off his license. What about the patients that don't have hypothyroidism? He's got the whole correlation wrong. There is some evidence that thyroid function and fibromyalgia are related, but that is no proof that the former causes the latter. It is most probably that the source of FMS is causing both, and in some cases not, as in the patients with normal thyroid function. In my case, I've had hyperthyroidism years ago that resolved but the FMS has not.
it's you who is the ignorant one..Hypothyroid sufferers have all the exact same overlapping symptoms as fibromyalgia..for ex: intolerance to cold, migraines, muscle aches and pains, digestive problems..untreated/undiagnosed hypothyroid failure to convert T4 toT3 is a major fibromyalgia factor..I am 95-97% per cent cured form taking T3 (as per Dr Lowes website on fibro), tackling severe systemic candida with diet etc.., and dealing with the stress/depression..you =not 1 % better!!
How about electrical shocks in your fingers? Does thyroid problems cause that? How about the cognitive problems of losing short term memory, problems with concentration/ balance issues, coordination problems. We also have the same overlapping symptoms of Lupus and MS. Do we have some MS or Lupus they cant see instead of thyroid problems? How about some hidden virus not related to thryoid? It all acts viral to some degree . And brain scans have proven changes in brain perfusion with FM.
learnFMnow - yeah electric shock symptoms, and all the symptoms you describe are suffered by thyroid sufferers who have been incorrectly treated/undiagnosed...thats why im 97% better, because i found the true way and people like you carry on dreaming about a 'viral cause'..Did you know that a world leading Virologist in the UK called Dr SKinner was given fibro/CFS sufferers to find a 'viral cause', what he found was that they all had symptoms of hypothyroidism and he has treated them as such!!
vincent4500, I have both hypothyroid and fibromyalgia. I've had symptoms of the former since I was 11, but was not diagnosed until I was 14. I had the symptoms of fibromyalgia at 22, but I was diagnosed at 23 (my present age). Why did it take 11 years for me to develop these latent symptoms of what you claim to be hypothyroidism? I never experienced muscle pain, dizziness, light sensitivity or numbness with my hypothyroidism--even when I went 2 years without taking any medicine.
ps on the leaflets in pure T3 medicine it says "no common side effects reported"..T3 is not dangerous if you start out small (i started out on 30mcg) and build up taking care to monitor for any side effects and improvement in symptoms..amemorea- find a doc who appreciates fibro thyroid probs, or be afraid and rely on ignorant mainstream doctors who were brainwashed by pharma marketing that T4 'works for all' do the latter & you;ll never get better..!
The fact you take a T3 medicine amemorea just confirms my theory buddy! It confirms I know what am talking about..i didn't know you did but said that T3 probs are part of the picture of fibro, ps don't bullshit me that stress/depression or immune system probs (such as epstein barr, candida or viruses) have never touched you...youre a fucking liar and a bullshitter, as if those things weren't involved in causing fibro for you they'd definitely rear their heads after having fibro for yrs..coward!
vincent4500, the only thing you have proved is that not only are you so obsessed with your own ego that you must prove your point at all costs, but even if your 'fibromyalgia' has been cured you need the help of a mental health professional. if you honestly cared about the state of any person afflicted by fibromyalgia, you wouldn't be personally attacking sufferers simply because they don't agree with your claims. why don't you do something useful instead of ranting ad nauseum on Youtube.
anaemia-orea, denial's the first sign of mental illness..and you've jumped in de-nile firmly..sure you'll attempt it again..ha ha..you take Armour, which has T3 in it, you have hypothyroidism, you have Fibromyalgia..it is your inane and non sequiter attempt to hold an argument that ..youre clearly a pharma whore -just like learnFuckallMNow. A couple of sad intellectually unable fucktards..yeah stay on your 1 armour tablet and be ill for the rest of your sad life clit dick features &suck doc-dick
same to you anemorea, i appreciate your bleak desperation, my main points were solid but you in your pointless sad existence are to insecure to admit you're upset by your void filled life..your disingenuity about your being 'totally happy' with your condition is natural but a lie..final note: wish you the very best for your future..one day hopefully you'll be well..hopefully
WHAT ARE YOU ON ABOUT NKERIO?ITS CLEAR youre not just a depressive feigning fibromyalgia but also a paranoid nut job..you actually deserve fibromyalgia for your stupid inept ranting..so fucking suffer and stop looking for sympathy you psychosomatic twat
Ahh there you are, the idiot in the twilight zone. I was wondering where you went. Taking a spring break from kissing ass? Pretty wild accusations for someone so desperate to prove a baseless point. Not that I'm looking for sympathy on youtube, but after coming across you I realize my good position. At least my sanity is intact. You're a high caliber retard that can't even add 1 and 1. Hey don't hate me just because you're stupid.
Moron, then you didn't have fibromyalgia and the 3% left that you have is who knows what. FMS symptoms also overlap with MS, lyme disease, and lupus, doesn't mean they are the same. You got to be an idiot to make nothing of all the fibromyalgia patients who either have no thyroid issues or who get their thyroid stabilized and still have their severe symptoms. If you and this idiot were right, FMS would have been resolved a long time ago.
Fuck off nkerio, i was diagnosed with fibromyalgia by several mainstream doc's, and unlike you, i had the intelligence to work out that about 30-40% of fibromyalgia is hypothyroidism..I AM RIGHT, the problem is mainstream doc's havent caught up to cutting edge knowledge and research..I referred to a Dr Skinner in UK, who, a leading virologist actually found fibro sufferers had hypothyroidism as part of their condition..HE IS A VERY RARE DOCTOR AS HE TREATS PEOPLE BY SYMPTOMS NOT B-S TESTS..
To vincent4500. Lol you gotta be kidding me. 30-40% of fibromyalgia is hypothyroidism, yet treating your hypothyroidism relieved about 97% of your fibromyalgia. FMS or not, you got to be an idiot to make such claims. Ok so we know that science and math are not your strongest subjects . Anything else you want us to know about you?
He's either a scam, family member of the doctor, or totally deluded about his situation starting from his diagnosis. He messaged me with cusses telling me he has a girlfriend, a job etc., actually thinking he's at an advantage (I'm married and self-employed). It was good laughing material while it lasted. He seems to have shut up with all the backfiring, I'm surprised. Maybe kissing this doctor's ass hasn't been paying off.
nkerio you and your wannabee friends are the ones who are GODDAM THICK! I SAID I RELIEVED 30 % OF MY FIBROMYALGIA WITH T3 , NOT 90%! AS I EXPLAINED TO YOU RETARDS EARLIER TO CURE FIBROMYALGIA 33% WAS IMPROVED BY T3, ANOTHER 66% will NOT be cured by throid treatment, as it is due to STRESS..PLUS CANDIDA & viral damage to the IMMUNE SYSTEM WHICH REQUIRES ANTI-CANDIDA TREATMENT, SUCH AS DIET AND SUPPLEMENTS!! YOURE SO THICK YOU CANT GET THAT 3 PIECES OF A JIGSAW PUZZLE ARE NOT COMPLETED BY 1 PIECE!
i say coward, when i mean liar! i was scared before of being honest that depression was part of the whole condition for fear of being labelled a 'depressive', but not afraid now as i realise that of the 3 jigsaw piece puzzle pieces, rare hypothyroid problems, immune system problems and depression 1 piece does not complete a 3 piece puzzle..thats why mainstream doc's (who by the way haven't movedon from seeing fibro as 'mental'-morons) approach to fibro will always fail..and antidepressants=shit
Have any of you heard the latest research? It says objective tests show that FM is a Central Nervous system disorder? They have brain scans and have examined spinal fluid. It is a CNS disorder just like MS is. Unrotunately most people never hear of this unless they look for it. There is hyperperfusion in some areas of the brain etc... and we have elevated levels of substance P in the spinal fluid. There is CLEAR evidence. I don't believe THYROID is the cause of that? Look it up please.
duhh!! that is old news! i heard this 20 years ago about fibro, fibro is a multi-system disease, looking for a 'single cause' is erroneous and doomed to failure!eg if you look for the single cause/feature that makes an elephant you will come out with the theory that an elephant is a 'trunk', or a 'foot' or a 'tail'..only by looking at the whole can you see the bigger picture...and believe me I am 96% better from the approach i've outlined here..and I Was severely ill..proofs in the pudding!!
sorry. Again. I am not a doctor. I just said what I had seen on labs and what patients told me. I should try the pudding. I am a sufferer of this damn disease and that is where the anger comes from inside of me. I hate it.
I am just a middle aged woman with two young kids trying to work and support them with a horrid disease. Maybe it IS a thyroid problem that is not seen on lab work. No one in my daily life hates me at all. I guess I must have sounded like a real prick here.
This guy is an asshole men are effected as well as women you are a lying money grubber and need to check your facts, i have Graves Disease and that is a fast thyroid and not a thing to do with what your saying and why not name a diagonis what it is ohhhhh bucking to get a disease named after you...... Check out your bias study for everyone with a thyroid problem there is one with out there without a problem
AMEN. You are right on. It is all about money because some people will try anything to be cured of this beast. Many "snake oil" salesmen get a new theory. A few people find it "works" for them. And let me ask? How many people that were "helped" are acually in some state of remission? We do have remission periods..some for months. Then the beast comes back. Heard it over and over.
I agree that it is most irresponsible for a Dr to make such a general statement.
I have CFS/Fibro for the last 5yrs and the NHS thyroid test did not show any deficiency; but having changed from vegetarianism to almost a high protein meat eating diet (partly to combat candida of the gut) I found a remarkable difference. The Dr's views are not conclusive for CFS/Fibro as he states.
contact Thyroid UK- they saved my life as a fibro sufferer of 13 years, Dr SKinner is a world leading virologist in the UK who was assigned CFS/fibro sufferers to find a 'viral cause' what he realised was that most of these patients had undiagnosed Thyroid probs as a Major causative factor of their condition..He has cured thousands of fibro/CFS sufferers of the thyroid aspect of their disease..candida and stress/loss are the other two thirds of the pie!!
You guys should stop throwing stones- If you really wanted to get well, you would go to his site and study it. Think! Stop being so juvenile. I do not work for him, dont even know him, but I studied his site. He points out WHY your blood tests are not working. You guys just dont want to get well. He is right- It is backed up by many many studies. Your Dr. doesnt know....N atural medicine does the studies.
I believe he is sincere. But I cannot believe he is the only doc in the world to figure this out and say it is thyroid. I am a nurse of 17 years. I guess I should learn "what other tyroid tests there are" that has been kept a secret. MY doctor has done his own indepth studies on this crap and I consider him to be a pretty damn smart cookie. Truth is though, no on knows the answers until the research is deeper. I WANT to get well. Did you have fibro and get cured? Or are you are doubter?
If we really wanted to get well, we would try to big diet changes and be all better. We would do the guaifenesin protocol too. We would try everything that anyone said to get well I guess. I guess I enjoy this disease. I get no benefit from it. No sympathy, disability, no quitting work, no secondary gains from this beast. I still work full time and raise two children all the while I am sick. Yep, I enjoy this illness. It is wonderful to miss your kids activities and functions.
Yeah. I water fasted for 10 days. I juice fasted for 2 weeks twice and i did herbal for 1 year. I also ate a strict vegan veggie diet for 1 year and followed the Gerson protocol for cancer. Didnt help me! What did? ARMOUR
Well I have heard stories of some people that did the exact things you tried that did not help you. And POOF..they were well. So those things do work for some people as they say but not others. So is this ARMOUR the cure that the medical community is stupid about? Or shoudl I tell those people that Juiced, went vegetarian, and the Gerson protocol that they are mistaken and are not "all better" at all. They need to do Armour right?
T4 which is almost exclusively prescribed for hypothyroidism, and which is the biggest money maker for the drug companies, actually doesnt' work FOR MOST PEOPLE, BUT THE MEDICAL SYSTEM WON'T ACCEPT THE EVIDENCE FROM ALL THE HYPOTHYROID PEOPLE OUT THERE, AS THEY'D LOSE MONEY OF THEIR ESTABLISHED 'ONE SIZE FITS ALL' INEFFECTIVE MEDICINE..T3 or T3/T4 medicines are the ones that most people i know from a nationa Thyroid members organisation actually work..STOP THE CORRUPTION, CURE NOT PROFIT!!
If thyroid meds don't work, then why have all the patients I have seen for 17 years suddenly get "normal" range values when they were previously abnormal before starting the synthroid? You can see the changing lab values on paper when they start thyroid meds. So if it does not work, then all those people are merely a fluke because it works for them??
who says thyroid meds dont work. It is synthroid that doesn't work. Prior to the invention of synthroid everybody was taking armour to cure there thyroid problems. A natural porcine dessicated thyroid t4&t3. It was the the pharmies that wanted to profit so they came up with synthetic t4 (synthroid) and made everybody sick. Lab values dont mean jack. You are an RN and that means you do what you were told in medical school. I dont respect any of you.
I dont give a flying #### if you respect me. And I specifically said that SNYTHROID IS THE DRUG that I see prescribed everyday and it does help my patients. Not only are the labs back into normal but they feel 100% better. Why? because they have a thyroid problem and not FM. So if you don't respect me, you don't know me anyway. I am the kindest loving and caring nurse you can meet. I refuse to open anything else from you. so don't bother responding with your ignorance.
YOU ARE A TYPICAL IGNORANT BRAINWASHED MURDEROUS DOC..T4 is a STORAGE HORMONE, i am affiliated with the BIGGEST SELF/HELP group in the UK and the 2nd biggest Charity - thyroid UK, and you KNOW WHAT SHIT FOR BRAINS, 60-70 % OF THYROID SUFFERERS SAY THEY AREN'T CURED BY SNYTHROID (T4) AND ARE ANGRY WITH THEIR THICK DOC'S TELLING THEM 'YOU ARE BETTER AND SYNHTROID IS ALL YOU NEED'..YOUR TIME WILL COME BUDDY, you're murderous ignorant pharma arse licking will be rewarded..we will rise and rip you up
fibro isn't fake at all, the severe pain, which i had for many years, is due to fibro being an overlapping horrid disease..that is thyroid, immune system problems and severe stress..ps undiagnosed/untreated hypothyroidism in itself is so horrific (exact same horrific symptoms as fibro!)that i've known several people kill themselves for merely that..the whole is greater than the sum of its parts and fibro is several nasty diseases not diagnosed/treated wrapped into one..
You cannot possibly put FMS under the umbrella of Hypothyroidism. FMS can be either a primary illness or a secondary...as in the case of Hypothyroidism. It is totally irresponsible of a docter to insist that FMS is the foundation of this illness only.
Fibromyalgia is a neurological illness, which can be triggered by different reasons...one maybe the lack of the thyroid hormone. But that is not the case of all sufferers.
HOW true. I have heard the theory of toxins, autoimmune, food allergies, mycoplasmas, viruses..etc. There is no one cause to this I believe. And IT IS a Central nervous system disease. That is the theory with the most reliable objective data that has only been recent in discovery. I am certainly not hypothyroid or resistant to thyroid because I know the symptoms of that. I have been a RN for 17 years. Every patient I have seen with hypothyroid responded to synthroid and felt better.
I kno alot of younger women are getting fibro. Im 21. I am still going through the process of elimination with doctors to figure out if it's what I really have. But I believe I have suffered with fibro since a car wreck I was in at 7 yrs old.
I've felt for a long time that my fibro was cased by my Hashimoto's. My TSH is normal and I found out my T3 was wrong and that was fixed, but I still have my fibro.
I THINK that there is something more to thyroid that doctors don't know that it eventually causes fibromyalgia. Why else would so many people who have fibromyalgia have thyroid issues and vice versa? There must be something being over looked.
What lab test have you had? If you are only being tested for the TSH or even the T4, then your doctor could be missing something. You should be tested for Free T4, Free T3 and the thyroid antibodies. I was told for years my thyroid was fine because no one bothered to order the antibodies test. Then one day a naturopath check and it was positive. I have Hashi (autoimmune disorder) and none of the other doctors ever figured it out.
I get tested for all of them and they have been normal for the last 5 years, although I had hyperthyroidism for a few years before that. My FMS symptoms started 15 years ago as far as I can tell. Take into consideration the FMS patients whose thyroids are normal and you'll find that there is no correlation, at least as far as thyroid causation.
that is what the doctors told me for years, then i went to a private doc, he tried me on T4 thyroxine, which didn't work, then T3 and it kicked in and cured 30-40% of my symptoms..standard medicine is corrupt and incompetent at diagnosing hypothyroidism (estimated 50% of sufferers don't show up on their mickey mouse tests), and it ignores that the symptoms of severe fibro are exactly the same as Hypothyroidism..including gut/candida problems..money and incompetence keep us ill- for profit..
Bullshit! I have had FM for 10 years. I have had my thyroid tested every 3 months for this past year because my hair is falling out, and guess what? There is nothing wrong with my thyroid!
What lab tests did they do? The TSH and t4 are not accurate. I don't know if Fibro is usually caused by hypothyroid, but I do know from experience that the medical establishment is lacking in their ability to care and diagnose thyroid disorders.
I believe, from my experience, and from research that a great number of CFS/Fibro sufferers have as 1/3 of their condition the underpinning damage of T3 deficiency ...see Dr Lowes website..but CFS/FIbro is 1/3 thyroid, 1/3 immune system damage, 1/3 trauma/depression problems..hellish triad'
the problem is the test that is accepted widely is ineffective..i've had CFS/FIbro since childhood and the doc's on the NHS never got a positive result for thyroid deficiency, but then i went to a private doc and he saw it on the tests and i take T3 at 120 mcg daily which i reccommend ...as it relieves 33% of my symptoms..the rest is due to candida which gets out of control and the last third is due to severe traumas..
Then that part that was relieved by T3 is not Fibromyalgia. It might be "fatigue" additional to that of your FMS. I would say the same thing about the candida. Otherwise, we'd be writing off men's fibromyalgia as nonexistant or not as serious. I can't argue to the severe trauma factor as I think there is great evidence pointing to its validity including my own experience.
I had been suffering for a long time with Fibro- thanks a zillion for explaining the Symptoms. I have about each and every of these symptoms.
Good news is with a treatment of thyroid- within weeks I am feeling like a new person- with energy I did not had in more than 10 years. I wish My doctor new what this Doc knows!!!!!!!!!
What a fucking kobber.

Because of this delay in reaction time, many people never make the connection between the drugs and their new mysterious health problems.
papatoony 1 year ago
@papatoony I'm glad you said that because after I took Levaquin I started having bad muscle spasms and pain! It's been over 4 yrs now.
troopcom 10 months ago
@troopcom Yep, Levaquin is a NASTY drug. Look up the reviews on askapatient sometime! I myself am completely crippled at the age of 31 due to six days worth of Ciprofloxacin (Cipro) and I can't tell you how many doctors have tried diagnosing me with fibromyalgia because they can't wrap their heads around the fact that an FDA-approved drug could possibly have done this to me. The damage quinolone antibiotics are capable of inflicting is absolutely ENDLESS. They are the stuff of the devil.

this guy thinks that fibro is caused by low thyroid, lol....all i can say to that is he needs to get fibro then maybe he will take it more seriously.

ReviewCam 1 year ago
He's telling the truth about it. It's not a disease, and far too many doctors diagnosis this rather than do a complete work up for underlying causes.
You need to find the underlying cause. Fibromyalgia isn/t a disease at all, it's as he said, a constellation of symptoms

Keep going! See video:

So .. do e'thing in moderation & nil exercise, makes it worse! Housework now kills me, walking hurts like hell, sitting only for short periods .. after sleeping is hell .. wake up sick, tired & cranky, on HRT, no change! Nobody in Australia that I know, gives a shit! Where's a Support Group here?? Drop me a note PLEASE!

Bullfn33 1 year ago
If you are 100% certain you don't have heavy metal toxicity it is probably another kind of toxicity. Maybe flouride or chorine accumulation from water. Flush that stuff out with high doses of Iodine(Lugols or Iodoral). In addition, eat organic foods from local farmers markets and small farms. If you only eat these foods for a long period, any other toxicity will eventually correct itself.
I hope this helps.
Bullfn33 1 year ago
There can be multiple causes of why your cortisol levels are low. Most likely, you are either too stressed out or your HPA axis isn't functioning properly. If you are not stressed out and think your cortisol levels just aren't functioning properly it is because you are toxic. Toxicity sources can be different for everyone but a common one is heavy metals. Do you have amalgam dental fillings, a contaminated water or food source like fish? Remove the source THEN begin a chelation regimen to detox.
Bullfn33 1 year ago

Bottom line...I do not believe the thyroid is the cause.
yousaidit78 2 years ago 2
you should be aware that often medical tests may not detect problems. fibromyalgia is from thyroid dysfunction, usually due to nerve interference, but can be exarcerbated by other things.
hiodr 2 years ago
@hiodr Fibromyalgia is NOT from thyroid disfunction. I have nodules on my thyroid, so I go every year to be checked. My thyroid functions perfectly, always well within normal ranges. This is a crock, and a scam to sell hormones.
nybabs63 1 year ago
you are entirely wrong. since when do you think nodules on your thyroid are normal? i don't care what the stupid medic told you. apparently you are unaware that many times medical tests fail to show evidence of problems which do, in fact, exist.
hiodr 1 year ago
@hiodr Many, many people have nodules, most without even being aware of it. Once cancer has been ruled out, it is best to just leave them alone, unless they become big enough to interfere with swallowing, breathing, or eating. And yes, I am well aware of that fact, and I have had in-depth thyroid testing done many times. I amnot entirely wrong.
nybabs63 1 year ago
@nybabs63 You can have low thyroid despite ''in range'' tests, that's what many doctors don't get!
If he just wanted to sell drugs,he could sell antidepressants.
I think that would be more profitable.
evakar24 1 year ago
@evakar24 No, he cannot sell antidepressants, only prescribe them, and the pharmaceutical companies make the profit. By creating his own "snake oil" he CAN sell it, and make a profit by preying on the desperation of people looking for relief.
nybabs63 1 year ago
@nybabs63 Ok,but you are aware of doctors who get payed/get ''gifts'' by pharmaceutical companies to push certain/drugs/antidepressants (that do not work)?
I my view every doctor who makes a chronically ill patient feel better is worth his payment!
evakar24 1 year ago
i am treated for hypothyroidism. i just had a blood test and it is in control. but my fibromyalgia is worse. i am still in constant pain. this has lasted for 3 years. i see 2 separate doctors for the 2 illnesses and they are in touch with each other regarding my case.
my point is, though the 2 diseases may be related, treating hypothyroidism will not make fibromyalgia disappear.
ycalderon16 2 years ago 6

Thyroid doctorsd make money out of ill people with no know cure by prescribing these white pills for £100 consultation.

everyones condition might have the same name, but every body responds to diffrent types of treatment...can we all just get along?
CheekieKiki626 2 years ago 2
I have FM and CFS, watch my video post Diana Homes on hypthyroidism, disabled for 30 years with our symptoms. She wasn't allowed to right into the treatment she had but it wasn't just ordinary thyroxine that put her right there are other co morbids and thyroid mimics out there. I am on Armour and hc and various nutrients. If you have the courage to dose to symptoms with the Thyroid hormones you can improve a lot. Ranges are just not right for everybody.

daanmara 2 years ago 3

Explain this to my husband. I've been watching him suffer for years now with fibromyalgia. He has an underactive thyroid, which he takes a medication for. What do you know?! He's still suffering!
lkbkr103 2 years ago
I can vouch for this. I suffered for 10 years going to 30 doctors, and was finally diagnosed with fibromyaliga. But after extensive blood tests at a fibro center, My T3 to RT3 ratio was way out of whack, indicating functional hypothyroidism. Unfortunately at least two doctors who did previous thyroid tests told me that I didn't have a thyroid problem, but it looks like they may have missed the boat. The symptoms of fibro are about the same as those of hypothyroidism..
ace8842 2 years ago
This is interesting! I went to a neurologist b/c all over pain,The blood-test revealed I have Graves Disease, I was given radiation to kill the thyroid,So I became hypothyroid, I am now on supplements for the rest of my life. It's been 10 yrs.and guess what? I STILL HAVE the pain.3 drs. have said I need to see a psychiatrist. I didn't go. Finally I was diagnosed w/fibromyalgia..Does this make sense?
estelle715 2 years ago
I also had Grave's Disease for a while along with FMS which mysteriously resolved on its own. So both our cases are proof that it's impossible the opposite of what we had can cause fibromyalgia. However, I strongly believe the thyroid is involved as a symptom in fibromyalgia. Some hypo , some hyper. But then again watch Vincent4500, or this doctor's wife, as I would call him, try to rerationalize a lost point.

vincent4500 2 years ago

That is my point YOURE ALL BLINDED BY IGNORANCE, NATURALLY, BUT I SEE THE BIGGER PICTURE..FIBROMYALGIA IS NOT HYPOTHYROIDISM, CANDIDA & VIRUSES, OR STRESS...ITS ALL THREE AND THEY INTERACT TOGETHER TO CAUSE A 3 DIMENSIONAL HELL
vincent4500 2 years ago 2
your theory is so wrong, don't be talking about something you know nothing about, talk to ppl who have this disease. the thyroid is involved but not the cause. my daughter has had fibro for over 12 years since she was 19 and was on amour thyroid for a short time, it escalated her symptoms. the disease they call fibromyalgia, which is totally the wrong name for this disease, affects every system in the body including the endocrine system. do more research before going on talk shows please.
snowb4by 2 years ago
So, if Fibromyalgia is indeed a symptom of hypothyroidism, why is it that every time my rheumatologist checks my thyroid the test comes back damn near perfect? Sorry, but there's more to this disease than what you'd like it to be so you can attempt to peddle your "natural solution."
DO NOT exploit our pain for your benefit.

fibro sufferers only respond well, like alot of hypothyroidism sufferers in general, to T3 alone or Armour..- why? because they have T4 to T4 conversion probs and some also have 'peripheral resistance to thyroid horme' which means they have to take more than conventionally prescribed by ignorant conventional doc's of these T3(/T4) med's..how ignorant doc's are=radiation treatment near thyroid for sideline issues can actually destroy thyroid tissue/cause hypothyroid probs, they dont know that..

DuskyEyedGurl 3 years ago
That being said if my fibro was merely a symptom a hypothyroidism then why do I only have 3 of the 25 symptoms-29 is you count the symptoms of a teen with hypothyroidism. And being diagnosed 7 years ago-and being told Ive had fibro for 10 years-youd think more of these symptoms would have made themselves known now wouldnt you? I think I know my own body. This guy is ignorant and knows nothing-people may not agree with me but its the truth.
DuskyEyedGurl 3 years ago
Although rare, hypothyroidism can occur in infants, children, and teens. In children and teens, symptoms include behavior problems and changes in school performance. Children and teens may gain weight and yet have a slowed growth rate. Teens may have delayed puberty and look much younger than their age.
DuskyEyedGurl 3 years ago
Coarse & thinning hair, dry skin, brittle nails, yellowish tint to the skin, slow body movements, cold skin, inability to tolerate cold, feeling tired, sluggish or weak; memory problems, depression or difficulty concentrating; constipation, heavy or irregular menstrual periods that may last longer than 5 to 7 days; enlarged thyroid gland, modest weight gain, 10lb or less, swelling of the arms, hands, legs & feet & facial puffiness, particularly around the eyes; hoarseness, muscle aches & cramps
DuskyEyedGurl 3 years ago
Thyroid only (-) with FM?
learnFMnow 3 years ago

Take it morning, noon and night and see how low or normal it is.
izzo70 3 years ago

So Mr. Ignorant why don't you think and do some real research instead of being like every other ignorant doctor I know
DuskyEyedGurl 3 years ago
Dont listen to what the lab test say about your thyoid levels. The lab test dont work. If you are fibro you should get some armour or some cytomel and do an empirical trial before yu lose more time. If you follow the doctors they will keep you sick forever.
izzo70 3 years ago
Dude I've had all those tests and more done. I have taken every vitamin, tablet, herbal treatment everything. But the thing is I actually do things like yoga and got OFF TWO OF MY MEDICATIONS. So I think if the doctor's were trying to keep me sick wouldn't they keep me ON the medications instead of, oh I dunno, letting me get off them like I WANT. Doctors do listen to their patients contrary to what you may think.
Oh and it took three years to diagnose-not one visit like this guy made it sound
DuskyEyedGurl 3 years ago
You can have yourself tested until your blue in the face. If you believe that test are the only answer then be sick for the rest of your life. If you do have thyroid hormone resistance then your temp should be low. Why dont you check it and and see what it reads. If its below 98.2-98.6 your probably hypothyroid; Fibromyalgia is merely of symptom of thyroid hormone resistance. If your able to get off all meds via yoga thats great. My gal is a cert kripalu instructor and she worships yoga to
izzo70 3 years ago

If I was so bitter you'd think I'd be alone now huh? Oh and they all know about my fibro and take me to my doctor's appointments WHEN I NEED IT-not when the doctor thinks I need it. I don't suffer anymore
DuskyEyedGurl 3 years ago
I can still feel the pain but I don't suffer. There are the bad days, but suffering? *looks around* I see no suffering here. I'm sorry you lost your jobs, but that's because you are an ignorant fool-I've been able to hold my job for two years now and on the road for a promotion to management.
DuskyEyedGurl 3 years ago

I should know now. :] Completely bitterless knowledge as well because I know that at least I am making a real difference in the world by going to school and keeping active.

If ou are fibro, you owe to yourself to try armour or t3.
izzo70 3 years ago
well said izzo70, it IS conversion failure of T4to T3 PLUS 'peripheral resistance to thyroid hormone', as per Dr Lowe's website, that is the thyroid component of fibro/CFS, an other third is immune system damage from years of undiagnosed hypothyroidism, immune damage requiring often anti candida diet/supplements..and finally the last third of this jigzaw puzzle is the stress, depression and loss of life which is natural to not being correctly diagnosed/treated for a chronic hormonal prob..!
vincent4500 3 years ago
Ignorant moron. They should strip him off his license. What about the patients that don't have hypothyroidism? He's got the whole correlation wrong. There is some evidence that thyroid function and fibromyalgia are related, but that is no proof that the former causes the latter. It is most probably that the source of FMS is causing both, and in some cases not, as in the patients with normal thyroid function. In my case, I've had hyperthyroidism years ago that resolved but the FMS has not.
nkerio 3 years ago
it's you who is the ignorant one..Hypothyroid sufferers have all the exact same overlapping symptoms as fibromyalgia..for ex: intolerance to cold, migraines, muscle aches and pains, digestive problems..untreated/undiagnosed hypothyroid failure to convert T4 toT3 is a major fibromyalgia factor..I am 95-97% per cent cured form taking T3 (as per Dr Lowes website on fibro), tackling severe systemic candida with diet etc.., and dealing with the stress/depression..you =not 1 % better!!
vincent4500 3 years ago
How about electrical shocks in your fingers? Does thyroid problems cause that? How about the cognitive problems of losing short term memory, problems with concentration/ balance issues, coordination problems. We also have the same overlapping symptoms of Lupus and MS. Do we have some MS or Lupus they cant see instead of thyroid problems? How about some hidden virus not related to thryoid? It all acts viral to some degree . And brain scans have proven changes in brain perfusion with FM.
learnFMnow 3 years ago
learnFMnow - yeah electric shock symptoms, and all the symptoms you describe are suffered by thyroid sufferers who have been incorrectly treated/undiagnosed...thats why im 97% better, because i found the true way and people like you carry on dreaming about a 'viral cause'..Did you know that a world leading Virologist in the UK called Dr SKinner was given fibro/CFS sufferers to find a 'viral cause', what he found was that they all had symptoms of hypothyroidism and he has treated them as such!!

I had the symptoms of fibromyalgia at 22, but I was diagnosed at 23 (my present age). Why did it take 11 years for me to develop these latent symptoms of what you claim to be hypothyroidism? I never experienced muscle pain, dizziness, light sensitivity or numbness with my hypothyroidism--even when I went 2 years without taking any medicine.

vincent4500, the only thing you have proved is that not only are you so obsessed with your own ego that you must prove your point at all costs, but even if your 'fibromyalgia' has been cured you need the help of a mental health professional. if you honestly cared about the state of any person afflicted by fibromyalgia, you wouldn't be personally attacking sufferers simply because they don't agree with your claims. why don't you do something useful instead of ranting ad nauseum on Youtube.

Moron, then you didn't have fibromyalgia and the 3% left that you have is who knows what. FMS symptoms also overlap with MS, lyme disease, and lupus, doesn't mean they are the same. Anything else you want us to know about you?
nkerio 2 years ago
amen to that,he is a idiot to make a claim like that. let him get this crap and see if thinks it is all tyroid
catawbafan 2 years ago
He's either a scam, family member of the doctor, or totally deluded about his situation starting from his diagnosis. He messaged me with cusses telling me he has a girlfriend, a job etc., actually thinking he's at an advantage (I'm married and self-employed). It was good laughing material while it lasted. He seems to have shut up with all the backfiring, I'm surprised. Maybe kissing this doctor's ass hasn't been paying off.
nkerio 2 years ago
nkerio you and your wannabee friends are the ones who are GODDAM THICK! YOURE SO THICK YOU CANT GET THAT 3 PIECES OF A JIGSAW PUZZLE ARE NOT COMPLETED BY 1 PIECE!
vincent4500 2 years ago
i say coward, when i mean liar! i was scared before of being honest that depression was part of the whole condition for fear of being labelled a 'depressive', but not afraid now as i realise that of the 3 jigsaw piece puzzle pieces, rare hypothyroid problems, immune system problems and depression 1 piece does not complete a 3 piece puzzle..thats why mainstream doc's (who by the way haven't movedon from seeing fibro as 'mental'-morons) approach to fibro will always fail..and antidepressants=shit

Look it up please.
learnFMnow 3 years ago
duhh!! that is old news! i heard this 20 years ago about fibro, fibro is a multi-system disease, looking for a 'single cause' is erroneous and doomed to failure!eg if you look for the single cause/feature that makes an elephant you will come out with the theory that an elephant is a 'trunk', or a 'foot' or a 'tail'..only by looking at the whole can you see the bigger picture...and believe me I am 96% better from the approach i've outlined here..and I Was severely ill..proofs in the pudding!!
vincent4500 3 years ago
sorry.

Check out your bias study for everyone with a thyroid problem there is one with out there without a problem
chermann57 3 years ago

The Dr's views are not conclusive for CFS/Fibro as he states.
daisydocs 3 years ago
contact Thyroid UK- they saved my life as a fibro sufferer of 13 years, Dr SKinner is a world leading virologist in the UK who was assigned CFS/fibro sufferers to find a 'viral cause' what he realised was that most of these patients had undiagnosed Thyroid probs as a Major causative factor of their condition..He has cured thousands of fibro/CFS sufferers of the thyroid aspect of their disease..candida and stress/loss are the other two thirds of the pie!!
vincent4500 3 years ago
Thanks - I will get in contact with Thyroid UK as anything will be worth a try.
Your theory of a 'third' seems to be right as despite being on a anti-candida diet the difference is part and not whole!
daisydocs 3 years ago
EXCUSE me. I have had my thyroid checked over and over and have absolutely nothing wrong with it. This doctor is an idiot
learnFMnow 3 years ago
You guys should stop throwing stones- If you really wanted to get well, you would go to his site and study it. Think! Stop being so juvenile. I do not work for him, dont even know him, but I studied his site. He points out WHY your blood tests are not working. You guys just dont want to get well. He is right- It is backed up by many many studies. Your Dr. doesnt know....N atural medicine does the studies.
ppate1 3 years ago
I believe he is sincere. But I cannot believe he is the only doc in the world to figure this out and say it is thyroid. I am a nurse of 17 years. I guess I should learn "what other tyroid tests there are" that has been kept a secret. MY doctor has done his own indepth studies on this crap and I consider him to be a pretty damn smart cookie. Truth is though, no on knows the answers until the research is deeper. I WANT to get well. Did you have fibro and get cured? Or are you are doubter?
learnFMnow 3 years ago
If we really wanted to get well, we would try to big diet changes and be all better. We would do the guaifenesin protocol too. We would try everything that anyone said to get well I guess. I guess I enjoy this disease. I get no benefit from it. No sympathy, disability, no quitting work, no secondary gains from this beast. I still work full time and raise two children all the while I am sick. Yep, I enjoy this illness. It is wonderful to miss your kids activities and functions.
learnFMnow 3 years ago
Yeah. I water fasted for 10 days. I juice fasted for 2 weeks twice and i did herbal for 1 year. I also ate a strict vegan veggie diet for 1 year and followed the Gerson protocol for cancer. Didnt help me! What did? ARMOUR
izzo70 3 years ago
Well I have heard stories of some people that did the exact things you tried that did not help you. And POOF..they were well. So those things do work for some people as they say but not others. So is this ARMOUR the cure that the medical community is stupid about? Or shoudl I tell those people that Juiced, went vegetarian, and the Gerson protocol that they are mistaken and are not "all better" at all. They need to do Armour right?
learnFMnow 3 years ago
T4 which is almost exclusively prescribed for hypothyroidism, and which is the biggest money maker for the drug companies, actually doesnt' work FOR MOST PEOPLE, BUT THE MEDICAL SYSTEM WON'T ACCEPT THE EVIDENCE FROM ALL THE HYPOTHYROID PEOPLE OUT THERE, AS THEY'D LOSE MONEY OF THEIR ESTABLISHED 'ONE SIZE FITS ALL' INEFFECTIVE MEDICINE..T3 or T3/T4 medicines are the ones that most people i know from a nationa Thyroid members organisation actually work..STOP THE CORRUPTION, CURE NOT PROFIT!!
vincent4500 3 years ago
If thyroid meds don't work, then why have all the patients I have seen for 17 years suddenly get "normal" range values when they were previously abnormal before starting the synthroid? You can see the changing lab values on paper when they start thyroid meds. So if it does not work, then all those people are merely a fluke because it works for them??
learnFMnow 3 years ago
who says thyroid meds dont work. I dont respect any of you.
izzo70 3 years ago
I dont give a flying #### if you respect me. And I specifically said that SNYTHROID IS THE DRUG that I see prescribed everyday and it does help my patients. Not only are the labs back into normal but they feel 100% better. Why? because they have a thyroid problem and not FM. So if you don't respect me, you don't know me anyway. I am the kindest loving and caring nurse you can meet. I refuse to open anything else from you. so don't bother responding with your ignorance.
learnFMnow 3 years ago
YOU ARE A TYPICAL IGNORANT BRAINWASHED MURDEROUS DOC..T4 is a STORAGE HORMONE, i am affiliated with the BIGGEST SELF/HELP group in the UK and the 2nd biggest Charity - thyroid UK, and you KNOW WHAT SHIT FOR BRAINS, 60-70 % OF THYROID SUFFERERS SAY THEY AREN'T CURED BY SNYTHROID (T4) AND ARE ANGRY WITH THEIR THICK DOC'S TELLING THEM 'YOU ARE BETTER AND SYNHTROID IS ALL YOU NEED'..YOUR TIME WILL COME BUDDY, you're murderous ignorant pharma arse licking will be rewarded..we will rise and rip you up
vincent4500 2 years ago
you arseholes! if u think that fibromialgia is fake u see my mum every day she cries all the time cause the pain
shadows4seen 3 years ago 3
fibro isn't fake at all, the severe pain, which i had for many years, is due to fibro being an overlapping horrid disease..that is thyroid, immune system problems and severe stress..ps undiagnosed/untreated hypothyroidism in itself is so horrific (exact same horrific symptoms as fibro!)that i've known several people kill themselves for merely that..the whole is greater than the sum of its parts and fibro is several nasty diseases not diagnosed/treated wrapped into one..
vincent4500 3 years ago 2
You cannot possibly put FMS under the umbrella of Hypothyroidism. FMS can be either a primary illness or a secondary...as in the case of Hypothyroidism. It is totally irresponsible of a docter to insist that FMS is the foundation of this illness only.
Fibromyalgia is a neurological illness, which can be triggered by different reasons...one maybe the lack of the thyroid hormone. But that is not the case of all sufferers.
lynconroy 3 years ago
Every patient I have seen with hypothyroid responded to synthroid and felt better.
learnFMnow 3 years ago
just looked up Hypothyroidism and its found in infants *confused* I'm 20 had it for 8 yrs well before menopause or hormone inbalance ....
IAL8818 3 years ago 2
I kno alot of younger women are getting fibro. Im 21. I am still going through the process of elimination with doctors to figure out if it's what I really have. But I believe I have suffered with fibro since a car wreck I was in at 7 yrs old.
crazyam05 3 years ago
I've felt for a long time that my fibro was cased by my Hashimoto's. My TSH is normal and I found out my T3 was wrong and that was fixed, but I still have my fibro.
I THINK that there is something more to thyroid that doctors don't know that it eventually causes fibromyalgia. Why else would so many people who have fibromyalgia have thyroid issues and vice versa? There must be something being over looked.
tyblossom 3 years ago
This is so not true. I have had FM and I firmly believe it is a neuro problem. My thyroid has been and still is fine!
Fruitloop71 3 years ago
What lab test have you had? If you are only being tested for the TSH or even the T4, then your doctor could be missing something. You should be tested for Free T4, Free T3 and the thyroid antibodies. I was told for years my thyroid was fine because no one bothered to order the antibodies test. Then one day a naturopath check and it was positive. I have Hashi (autoimmune disorder) and none of the other doctors ever figured it out.
Raison2 3 years ago
I get tested for all of them and they have been normal for the last 5 years, although I had hyperthyroidism for a few years before that. My FMS symptoms started 15 years ago as far as I can tell. Take into consideration the FMS patients whose thyroids are normal and you'll find that there is no correlation, at least as far as thyroid causation.
nkerio 3 years ago
that is what the doctors told me for years, then i went to a private doc, he tried me on T4 thyroxine, which didn't work, then T3 and it kicked in and cured 30-40% of my symptoms..standard medicine is corrupt and incompetent at diagnosing hypothyroidism (estimated 50% of sufferers don't show up on their mickey mouse tests), and it ignores that the symptoms of severe fibro are exactly the same as Hypothyroidism..including gut/candida problems..money and incompetence keep us ill- for profit..
vincent4500 3 years ago
Bullshit! I have had FM for 10 years. I have had my thyroid tested every 3 months for this past year because my hair is falling out, and guess what? There is nothing wrong with my thyroid!
youdontlooksick 3 years ago 2
same thing with my mom shes been tested for that as well this may be inacurate
dickmharter 3 years ago
What lab tests did they do? The TSH and t4 are not accurate. I don't know if Fibro is usually caused by hypothyroid, but I do know from experience that the medical establishment is lacking in their ability to care and diagnose thyroid disorders.
Raison2 3 years ago
I believe, from my experience, and from research that a great number of CFS/Fibro sufferers have as 1/3 of their condition the underpinning damage of T3 deficiency ...see Dr Lowes website..but CFS/FIbro is 1/3 thyroid, 1/3 immune system damage, 1/3 trauma/depression problems..hellish triad'
vincent4500 3 years ago
the problem is the test that is accepted widely is ineffective..i've had CFS/FIbro since childhood and the doc's on the NHS never got a positive result for thyroid deficiency, but then i went to a private doc and he saw it on the tests and i take T3 at 120 mcg daily which i reccommend ...as it relieves 33% of my symptoms..the rest is due to candida which gets out of control and the last third is due to severe traumas..
vincent4500 3 years ago
Then that part that was relieved by T3 is not Fibromyalgia. It might be "fatigue" additional to that of your FMS. I would say the same thing about the candida. Otherwise, we'd be writing off men's fibromyalgia as nonexistant or not as serious. I can't argue to the severe trauma factor as I think there is great evidence pointing to its validity including my own experience.
nkerio 3 years ago
I had been suffering for a long time with Fibro- thanks a zillion for explaining the Symptoms. I have about each and every of these symptoms.
Good news is with a treatment of thyroid- within weeks I am feeling like a new person- with energy I did not had in more than 10 years. I wish My doctor new what this Doc knows!!!!!!!!!
8882020 3 years ago
Yet another pontificating doctor explaining away CFS and Fibromyalgia as a women's illness caused by midlife changes.
I am a man. I take thyroid meds. I still have CFS and Fibro.
The problem is doctors just like this guy. Big egos looking for big profits from the drug and insurance scam that is the US medical industry.
Doc if it were this simple the thousands of people suffering would have figured it out all ready.
You do more harm than good.
jimisru 3 years ago
Not necessarily so. Also, thyroid is frequently undertreated in the U.S.
