All electronics can be sealed in by using balloons and thereby become waterproof.....a little logic! :-)

@vilee453 Actually, I'm pretty sure most are electric. Nitro trucks would be ripping through small puddles like that. Waterproofing electric RC's are easy. Stuff the radio components into a condom or balloon and seal it with roofing caulk.

The Baja bug is an old (and rather rare) Sand Scorcher. You can see the plastic box containing the radio gear around 1:55 - they're practically waterproof. They don't make them like that anymore!
