The 1991 Marine Corps Marathon (November 3, 1991) was my first marathon. The weather was gorgeous that day: Sunny, with a very slight breeze. I had not heard of any fatalities, and was just happy that I had finished in good shape. Does anyone know what his finishing time was on that day?
If anyone knows, please post the time here on in the comments section of Part 3. Thank you!
I had the unbelievable honor of working with Glenn as an intern! It was an unbelievable experience. He was exactly as he was on air. He once gave me a high-five after showing him a great hockey check. He is still so sorely missed!
With the passing of George Steinbrenner today, I thought back to Glenn Brenner's "Steinbrenner Tote Board". Having lived in the DC area briefly in the mid-80's (originally from NYC), I had always thought that NYC had the best Sports anchors. But DC had two of the very best in Glenn Brenner and George Michael.
Character....Character and personality, that Glen and Gordan had chunks of, are what we, as a society seem to not have in the least! You will NOT see anyone in news today have the anywhere near the same level of.....LIFE! Nowadays, HA, such livelyness 'on air' would be looked at as unprofessional by most station executives. People back then were sooooo full of life! What has happened to us over the years?????
I felt very very sad the day he died. I enjoyed watching him. Almost like a friend. With George Michael passing today the two giants of their day are gone. Thank God we have these memories.

I posted this on Part 3, and I'm curious:

He was hillarious. Living in the DC Metro Area, I always enjoyed watching Glen and the Channel 9 News Crew. He was one of a kind.
