They are region cods. PAL is for Europe and Australia and NTSC is for North America.

You see, I've ran NTSC games on this TV for years without any issues, but only with the Wii will NTSC have reduced quality. Confusing me as to why...

Yeah, this TV has played things like NTSC Saturn, NTSC Neo Geo, NTSC PS2 without any issues what so ever. Pal games have really good image quality, it's only when I play NTSC games with NeoGamma R7 that the picture goes to crap. Like, the picture will appear all bent on one side and will look like super LQ composite with tons of interfierence.  I don't get why it happens :(

Yes. You insert the freeloader to play ntsc games (if you have a PAL wii), for the PAL games you only need to insert the game, as usual.

Note that you can't update your wii. If you have a supirior version to mine (3.2) the freeloader won't work. If that's the case search the "zelda hack" on youtube.

Are you sure? Look around if you can use an adapter, some electronics works with 120/220. In the end, I can tell you this: Europeans like to have all things up side down comparing to the Americas xD

Basically, relatively to the wii, you can't play NTSC games on the wii. Which are games from USA. In europe the format is called PAL.

A freeloader is a software that let's you play, in this case, games from other regions (i.e. from America and japan, if you are in europe). This is only needed if the console is NOT free region, which is the case of the wii. (ps3, for example is free region, so you don't need a freeloader to play games from other regions)

After you've done the update you only need to insert the freeloader once when you want to play with it and it's the same for every game that needs an update.

As for the naruto games I really don't know, but I've heard that naruto EX does not work with the freeloader.

In the wii settings tab you have an option that says update, click there and it'll start an update.

I believe the freeloader also works with the 3.1 tho.

Did you check if your freeloader is the same as mine? There are some old ones that are for gamecube only.

It displays in black and white because your TV isn't compatible with NTSC. You can fix this with the RGB cable, but it'll display red if your TV does not support it! Make sure it supports RGB. There is also another solution that is passing the wii signal through a Dvd Player that is capable of NTSC (most are capable)

If peeps are getting black screen you might have to put and use the freeloader twice then smash brother brawl.

Using the freeloader twice is for the first time you insert brawl, as I mentioned in the video. This is because brawl needs to do an update the first time you use it. If you're having a black screen it's possible because you didn't set the wii for 60hz.
