  • sadly he did born on wrong era, had he born on modern era he would have been a famous eccentric movie star instead of mad emperor

  • Senatorial Facepalm

  • this nigga is a dumbass

  • Nero's portrayal seems like something out of Monty python.... I like it

  • Me thinks Nero had too much narcotics put into his lead drinking cups. But that's what you get when you have a man suddenly given almost unlimited resources and seen to by a large entourage of self-serving "helpers". For a good recent example, witness the complete and total howling insanity of Michael Jackson in the two decades leading up to his premature death...

  • Great actor, and great series also.

  • Instead lets play basketball on an aircraft carrier !!!

  • I thought it was a very sound plan, put down by men with stoic cynicism and with a defunct risk taking drive and imagination capacity.

Had it failed the rebels would have killed Nero and the senate would win either way.

  • If you close yr eyes & listen to this .....you'd think you were listening to Obama....or Bush Sr, or Bush the younger MURDERER.....America is a dictatorship......Tell your friends.

  • He is not insane , he just love to sing , I got lots of friends who is just like him , they like him love to sing

  • @Potomacstud not insane but out of reality. In Russia Ivan the Terrible had a son who actually did believe that ringing of church bells will drive enemy away (there he got his name Fyodor the Bellringer) but his father instead melted those bells and made cannons out of them. Guess who was right...

  • I thought the romans spoke latin, not english.

  • And Simon Cowell will be there with me . Singing to them

  • I watched this at school, loved the part when he put salt in someone's eyes(or was it his general)

  • just when the Senate thought that Nero wasn't all that insane...

  • they could've just follow his plan and see the enemy shoot arrows and spears at him lol

  • Thats what happens when you give someone who cannot handle power too much power.

They become totally insulated, becoming a total nut job.

  • @dishwasherman83 Or when you try to create something new in a place where it hasn't existed before without experienced help.

  • This documentary was so fucking good. and the actor realy played crazy well.

  • in this depiction nero reminds me of... bullshit.. he IS alex from clockwork orange XD

  • It would be Nero ended up having that old senator being a freemason and plotted the death of Nero. people would be freaked out that way. Nero may had burnt Rome, but he would have been scared into seeing masonic senators trying to kill Nero. But i don't think that masons were involved in that event.

  • Michael Sheen is fenomenal!!! U can seriously believe every word he says!!

I feel bad for Nero. I love art myself but to take it to war....

    Not a good idea...

  • what an artist dies in me

  • Nero was a crazy fratboy saddled with too much responsibility.

  • this is the best nero..

  • Why not just let him do it? Maybe, his singing would have worked on the rebels. And if not, the Senate would have no need in executing Nero.

  • And we thot the financial crisis was bad !

These poor chaps need to deal with a mad emperor !!

    :(

  • This man never fails to amazed me ! He is gonna sing to his enemies , now now , who should we pity ? Loony nero or his enemies ?

  • Nero: I INTEND TO SING TO THEM! :D

Senate Member: *performs the "We are Fucked" expression*

  • shock and awe

  • @TheJoeyD27 Don't insult Nero by the comparison.

  • mmmmm whiteeee teehthhhhhhhhhhhh

  • By the way, caligua commite his crimes in revenge for the deaths of his family. Nero commite his with scapegoats and fraud and treason.

  • @Dleifrag100 umm why did he behead a 13 year old, caligula was more crazy than Nero, fact, he married his sister and stabbed her. he committed some crimes orvengence, some for sheer craziness and nastiness

  • @21whitworth12 Sorry, I have no more room to comment about Nero, I despise him way too much. I view him as evil not mentally insane. So just like my last response to HouseofOdin, I give up on attacking him, I am not going to start another war on you as well. You are free to keep you're opinion.

  • @Dleifrag100 awwwwwwwwww i like youtube wars, damn ur a dissapointment

  • @21whitworth12 So you're happy with me swearing at you with out censoring (###) and waste you're time forcing you to answere back at me? NO, you will call the cops on me!

See, that's a whole war I have waged on you, wrapped up into one comment in which I've surrendered and you just won against. They're just comments (words on a screen). Anyway, good job defeating me. Like I said befor, you can keep your opinions.

  • @Dleifrag100 soz didnt mean to insult, just looking for a healthy debate no harm meant :)

  • @21whitworth12 That's ok, I'm not a fighter to begin with.

    :\

  • @21whitworth12 Actually, you would have mashed me into hotdogs if insulted you.

  • FOOGHT FOR LOVE?!?!?!??! Nero didn't even participate in the liberation for anyone. He just sat in his thrown, out classing Jabba the Hutt as the fatboy, plotted ways to disembowl his innocent victems alive while raping his sisters including a boy who he ordered his guards to cut his penis and testicals so he can marry and raped him as well, and he fanally left Rome behined to crumble as he commite suicide. And you would say he did it for love?

  • This scene reminds me of Caligula too. . .

  • Is any of this actually backed up by historical evidence?

  • @jacobins3000 aside written evidences - no,

  • How was he mad? He tried to win a war by love not blood. You all are blood thirsty Gauls!

  • @BlloodRayyven It is very sweet idea but he was more than mad...he was a naive. Singimg as a weapon works only when both side are agreed using it.

  • who plays nero???

  • @Janegrl808 , I think is Michael Sheen.

  • what is the name of this movie??..

  • Or they'd drive a spear down his throat to shut him up..He deserved to be on the stage performing for the plebeians not in the senate performing for..well..richer plebeians ;-)

  • If his voice was bad enough his enemies would rout and flee from the field......

he could win! he wasn't mad!!! :O

  • was he mad more than Calligula?i think not

  • why did you refer calligula?
