So um, hmmm I haven't bought a sound card since he 90s, and from what I see on that card, you cant plug in 7.1 or 5.1 speakers ? right ? I mean my motherboard has like 4 ports for, you know, bass left, rear and such, but these just seem to have 1 audio and a mic input ? so they made for the headphones only ? little confused, hope you dont need to buy another card if you break the headphones ?
Hy i have a question. I have a z5500 speakers i use them with my motherboard standard audio they connected to the optical device. If i buy this sound card and i connect my speakers to it on optical will i feel any difference in music, movies, games, etc. Thx
Newegg stopped carring it. I found it at Provantage for $280.00 including free shipping. I have a 7.1 logitech S750 and it sounds great and so powerful. The headset are great too. I love the closed ear design and so very light on my head. Don't even know I'm wearing them. And the mic is top notch too. My friends in vent and in game can hear me more clearly. And since EAX is pretty much done in our newer games, I not going to worry about card support anymore. But its there if you need it.
Do you know if Asus is discontinuing the Xonar Xense? I think its about time that Asus came out with a newer sound card. Creative seems to be more progressive lately. I hate to see Asus falling behind in their progress.
@Haroids tigerdirect won't stock it anymore and the same with newegg and amazon. Provantage still carries it for $280.00 including shipping. And Asus still supports the warranty of this card too. And provantage has free 3 day shipping too.
@Haroids I really don't know. But I did contact tigerdirect and they told me personally that they will not stock it anymore cause it is discontinued. Newegg still might restock it. Provantage has a lot in stock. I talked to them personally. They will do their best to keep it in stock. I'd prefer to purchase from newegg cause I wanted to get an additional 2 year warranty on it. But I guess 3 years will be fine. I hope I've helped you out some. Good luck with your purchase. Its so awesome.
I just picked this unit up last week. I'm having a hard time figuring the optimal config for FPS games. Do I set it to 8 channel audio w/ headphone analog out. Common sense says go with 2 channel since I'm using the headphones but I'm not sure if I'm missing something. Thx in advance.
Yay Sennheiser. \o/ Will get this card whenever I build another new PC in the fall. Also, dude looks like a sports broadcaster with those on, it's cool.
HI. MY PC DOESN'T HAVE PCIE 1X, OR AT LEAST I CAN'T SEE IT, BECAUSE OF MY GRAPHIC CARD. I HAVE A GigaByte GA-X58A UD7 MOTHERBOARD AND IM TRYING TO INSTALL A X-FI Titanium PCI Express Sound Card. IS IT GOING TO FIT. PLEASE HELP. THANK YOU.
@ZuluSmasher It sure depends on what onboard card you have and what dedicated you'll get. But in general yes, if you also have a good headset or speaker set.
@pricelessppp They're obsolete. Computers used to require sound cards back in the 1980s and 1990s, but now, all motherboards come with very good sound processors, so sound cards are redundant and mostly bragging pieces.
God damn this card is sexy. PC350's are pretty mediocre, but damn this is a nice bundle. The Xonar cards are fucking gorgeous. I'm still using an Audigy 2 ZS and I'm probably going to be upgrading to a Xonar. And as you stated, it is better than onboard by a fuckload. Any discrete card is better than integrated audio, even the newer shit.
can I run also 5.1 with the included adapter?

I am a happy owner of the ASUS Xonar Xense Sound Card along with the Sennheiser PC350 Headset. And i have to say... they sound absolutely amazing!
I am not exaggerating. When i first used these i had to take the headset off to make sure the sound wasn't coming from my external speakers.
They produce very clear and distinct sound variances. Which makes these perfect for FPS games and also a great music listening experience.
They are pretty pricey, but you get what you pay for. :D

How do you know Newegg won't restock?
I wasn't planning on ordering it until around Christmas.....Any idea if Provantage will restock as needed?
