I got the aluminum tubing from Online Metals in Seattle and the bar stock for the baffles is scrap I got from a friend. All of my silencer baffles are machined from bar stock, I tried to make them from sheet metal but it kept on ripping when I pressed them into deep 60 degree cones.
@ranb40 You could try pressing them in 2 or 3 steps to spread out the thin spots in the cones, I had the same problem with mine till i worked that out :-j
I have an AR and contender in 300 whisper, a savage in 338 whisper, but no 302 whisper. They are all SSK, expensive but nice. The 300 whisper works well with 220-240 grain bullet subsonic and 125 supersonic. I use 300 grain jacketed and cast bullets in the 338.
nice, i looking in to a 460 pistol upper for my encore from ssk. been lookin at there smaller whisper line like the 302 and 338. do you know much about them?
where did you get the material to make the cones, are they solid or sheet metal fabrications?
