  • That is some deep electronic. Reminds me of back in the days of the "Synthetic Pleasure" radio show on the WFMU college station in NJ.

  • fantastic song (Y)

i almost sold my emx a few weeks ago, thank god i didn't because i have fallen in love with it all over again. they are a fantastic piece of kit!

  • sick video dude, as someone else said you make all the other videos sound weak in comparison!

  • This intro is very interesting keep it up man

  • I need to get this machine. and FINALLY a video that isn't just an enter shikari cover. I like the band but I hate them because people seem to think that's all the Electribe can do. Thank you for proving otherwise.

  • i managed to make some cool sounds on m emx1 (i think) look at my channel and please let me know what you think. this is the chance you've all been waiting for, you can tell someone else why they are good or not. its a youtube commenters' wet dream

  • watch?v=ff974Ocxl4Q&feature=related

  • Man this video kicks ass, absolutely inspirational. Very impressive.

Cant wait for my emx to arrive!!

  • well done amigo from mexico

  • bad..ass

  • Very good sound

    :)

  • This track is so rough and raw. Thanks Man.

  • wow this is amazing! is there any chance of you doing a tutorial on the EMX basics?

  • Awesome work! I really love the sound you got with this machine. Do you perhaps have any straight recordings? Paid or free?

  • 5 stars for you sir !, I've just come accross a few videos of yours and have become a fan = subscribe, amazing the sound your getting out of your tribes, your introducing alot of lil changes all the time, which is good as you often see alot of other peoples mixes are just the same 8 bar loop repeating over and over whilst muting and unmuting parts, so do you create these patterns from scratch on the tribe or do you compose on a PC, then mididump the relavant data as separite patterns ?

  • I have one of these. If you like electronica or any kind of dance music, you gotta have one.

  • Comment removed

  • you have just showed the whole world the full potential of that machine. FUCKING BRAVO!!

  • does any no of a video describing the basics of the emx1

  • @alastair171 go on the KORG website ...

  • This is awesome. Are you using any other hardware or computer in this vid/performance? Loading of samples?

  • @whatsledgehammer No, this is a nice example of the capability of the emx1 alone! It shows how wrong the people, who keep saying it is a limited machine, are!!

  • i definitly agree with your comment.there are so many emx videos on utube that make this box look poor.you my man have got right inside its brain and posted perhaps the best example on here

  • @BRAKESUK80 thank you!!! Well I really love synthesizers and cannot afford a true analogic one... that is why I love the electribe! not expensive but so powerfull is one searches well...

  • DSI evo, Mopho, Doepfer Dark, MFB Synth 2 costs less then the electribe :)

    ..........

    very good demo!

  • Wow - that's some heavy tweaking! I love the sound you got out of your machine - beautiful noise, no doubt! Guy above said it's awful and other who said it's sick should eat some more interesting shrooms than mushrooms and broaden their horizon a bit. Imho. Would love to hear this track recorded line-in, though. Sound's a bit thinny due to recording method. Props for the composition, though!

  • @rasmus3113 thanks for the kind comments! A clean version of aether will soon be available on AIRTIST. You can find some 100% made EMX1 on Myspace. I will send you an email if you want with the links...

  • @CrossAngelProject I'd love a copy too!

  • @plixness RDV on soundcloud ! I will allow download to aether. I will let you know soon ... ;)

  • @plixness OK !! Aether Download on SoundCloud. A version 2011 of 8 minuts ! Enjoy!

  • i want one sooo much!!

  • What a super interesting piece of equipment. Looks like a ton of fun. Hows the learning curve?

  • pretty easy. get one. its worth it.

  • am seriously impressed man, sounds like a massive attack crossover. 5/10 and faved

  • shit,i meant 10/5 lmao ;)

  • haha!!! Seriously!!! Closing my eyes while listening to this beautiful track I'm transported to the Mako Reactor about to fight some mechanic scorpion that fires a laser from its tail.

    Oh yeah...

The black guy next to me has a machine-gun arm.

  • yeh its not beautiful its sick.

  • Nice one, Good old FF VII

  • its like juno reaktor :)

  • I think u have convinded me into buying one :)

  • awesome! that korg is amazing

  • Fantastic track. Very different style to what I usually hear coming from an emx. Very creative.

  • bad qualy, but nicely done!

  • I know, it is a photographic camera sound and film... at the time I didn't have the good equipment...

  • @CrossAngelProject the image quality is good. did you take the video with a reflex (very good video quality but shitty mono audio)? :p

  • @counterleo it was filmed with the kodak DX7590, and yes the audio is poor (you cab even hear the mechanics trying to ajust the image... ;)

I have a cleaner version on my profile.

  • @counterleo look down below for the posted ather clean version... good listening. ;)

  • Excellently done. Korg should hire you yo do their product vids ;)

  • where can i get this stuff on mp3 man?

  • on myspace

  • Shit man, that's some serious shid right there. Did you ONLY use EMX to get that kind of music out of it? If so I think you went quite near of its true power.

The magnitude of that song was just so huge and for the first time that box felt small compared to the song and not the other way around.

  • Hi Mr Brander!

Thanks for that great comment! Yes this is done only with the emx1!

  • sick nasty...

  • do you need an amp for this?

im completely new to this kind of thing, but i realy want to get into it. what do you recommend i buy first?

  • well you can survive with some headphones, but yep, it needs an amp if you are plannin' to get this on the road...but for a starter this is one is ok, you'll have fun and you'll understand how alot of things works, and then later maybe you can get the older ones wich are analog i think the electribe A, and yep...

  • okayy, thanks :D

  • you need external speakers of some sort. no speakers on the emx

  • Good work, son!

  • I just bought that today, I cant start using it till tomorrow (WORK LOL) but hopefully Ill be able to figure out how to use it for making such great stuff like this :-P

  • that is so BIG sounding . YES

  • nice one man !!!

  • fucking brilliant! are your tracks available for download anywhere??

  • whoa, are all those samples in the electribe?

  • yes

  • can i hook this up to a dj mixer and use the effects on this korg to affect the channels in the mixer

  • there is an AUDIO IN connexion, so you can send sounds in the emx1 and modify them...

  • Thanks for convincing me that this can be for less linear music.

I have to consider picking one up now.

  • So is that called an Korh emx1?

    Sorry im knew to thiss

    XD

    Sounds awesome though (Y)

  • Yes this is definately an electribe emx1! The top of electronic live instruments at korg!!

  • ....sold! I'm buying 1!

  • dude this is way better than the koass pad in the sample deparements

  • yeah! the electribe is not only a prout prout beat maker!!

  • thanks for not making a techno beat

  • Awesome man. Nice to see someone using the emx at a slower tempo.

  • That is truly immense.

I tried getting one before Christmas, but for certain reasons couldnt. Now the prices have been put up from about £380 to £430. Thats an economic crisis for you :/

Any idea of where to get a Korg EMX 1 for under £400?

    Kudos on the great tune!

  • check dv247 com

  • I started playing with one of these in guitar center and man... i wanna pick one up for myself

  • Yeah, I've been on the fence on the EMX-1 for a while now. After hearing this, I'm definitely picking one up. I just didn't want to be disappointed with something that would only be good for making crappy techno.

  • I hope you enjoy it! I am sure you will!

  • Just like to thank you for this vid, after watching it about 50 times I went and bought the MX1. Loving it, having so much fun, you tune here is truly inspirational!

  • hi ! this is nice to hear because some guys who use Reason find that the emx1 is rubbish and that my song can be done more easily with Reason...

welcome in the electribe world! it is great finding new fans!!

  • What's rubbish are those programs that make it effortless to create music. I like to be able to hear the blood, sweat, and tears that go into making a song...

Incredible track. Keep us the good work.

  • Did you change the tubes? Or are these the stock ones?

  • These are the original tubes. But it doesn't really mean anything because no tubes react the same way...

  • cool sound

which is better emx-1 or esx-1???

  • they are not the same so difficult to compare... in my case I would choose the emx1 if I had the choice...

  • the emx-1 has its own synth engine for using waveforms to build upon its own preset sounds. it only has these presets which you can tweak and such. however the esx-1 is powered by samples. you record your own drum and keyboard/sound effects samples to make music. they are two entirely different instruments with the same layout. one is a synthesizer (emx) one is a sampler (esx)

  • My band are looking to add alot more synth to our new sound. Can anyone tell me, is the EMX hard to use, for someone who is new to synth?

  • the emx1 isn't too complicated to begin with...

  • sweet!

  • sry, i also just have to add, you actually make your own sounds like its supposed to be used((unlike everyone else...like the other vidz))- keep on truckin!!!!

  • haha, dude this is a synthesized sonic masterpeice! you other kids shuld be appreciatin'!

  • how did you create the guitar-like sound that starts in around 1:56? (looks like you're using only emx sounds here, no inputs)

  • yes only emx1 sounds... guitar like sound with distortion, compression and drive increase...

  • your using song mode right? how many patterns?

  • no I am using the pattern mode. I never really use the song mode except for playing the laser harp or theremin. I used 6 patterns for this one.

  • thats really good!

it shows a lot more of what the EMX can acually do unlike all the other videos.

    5+

  • thanks!

  • this thing is INSANE

  • You got the whole band in that box COOL

  • what tempo is that?

  • 90 BPM

  • An MX master.

Speaking as an 'tribe' man myself, that is really, really good. Great sounds. Love it.

  • thanks a lot for the compliment!

  • This was the best demo ever

  • mmmhhh just got one, pretty cheap too 280 euro. I LUV IT. tanx for introducing me

  • that is really worth it! congratulations and welcome in the world of the electribe!

  • ben c du pur son pour l'emx !! comment tu a crée les sons de guitare disto?

  • la réponse est dans ta question: son de guitare + disto... (du boost aussi)

  • this was one of the best emx1 presentation.

    good music!

    regards

  • are you only using the sounds korg emx 1 posseses

  • hey pimpnez, I also use the soundzz ... -> have new emx vids up!!

  • yes it is exclusively emx1!

  • How much was the korg electribe?

  • when I bought it : 750 Euros, today between 515 & 600 Euros

  • So, you're playing with the demo?

  • what do you mean? a factory preset?

this piece is my own composition.

  • It was a newb question.

I didn't understand what I was hearing sorry.

    That... is... dope.

  • oh and doy ou have to plug it into a speaker or amplifier? or can it produce sound on it's own...

and would a standard guitar amplifier do?

  • yes you have to plug into an amplifier or directly in amplified speakers, but a mixer would be better.

I guess you could plug it in a guitar amplifier but the sound won't be very good...

  • it's close to £400 online...expensive, i'd love to just give it a shot though...if i bought it i'd have no more money..worth it?

  • well I personaly find it is worth it!

  • yes the Electribe is worth twice what it costs easy....after you learn to use it, you can make any sound you can imagine, any instrument, and type of music except acoustic or country music...lol..it's absolutely THE SHIT!

  • AWSOME !!!

  • Wow! This is sick!

  • hey guys, i just wanted to know, is it possible to put a micro, a guitar or an other instrument on one of these stuff, or on an esx-1?

  • yes you can!

  • where do all the leads go and stuff?

i have a few ampliefiers at home could it connect to them??

and where can i get a memory card?

  • on ebay... or search trs-space on internet, it is a german shop where they still sell SM cards of 128 MO.

  • How hard is to learn this? I have never touched something like this b4 and I want to start getting into it.

  • it depends

ive had mine for about 3 weeks and ive just about gotten the hang of it and can now make some pretty nice daft punk covers

but i have musical experience from bass

as long as you know the sounds you want and are willing to read the manual and experiment a bit then you will love this

  • would love to see your daft punk covers.... would u put a video up? thanks! :)

  • Just get it and GO!!!!!!

  • that was great!

    is the emx-1 easy playing?

and i was thinking of getting on for my band, would be any use?

    cheers

  • personnaly I would recommend this emx1 to all musicians! it is easy to use, you just need imagination!

  • alright cheers dude!

im most likely to get one!

  • nice

  • among the best emx works ive seen :D

  • does this thing have any internal memory?

or do u have to rely on those shitty smart media cards?

  • there is an internal memory (264 patterns)! but you will end up needing a smartmedia card. They are very difficult to find and I would like KORG to make an adapter for SD cards!! (because the one on the market doesn't fit in the electribe:(

  • you can get an XD card adapter so you can use XD cards. Both the adapter and XD cards are easy to find on ebay. You still only have the choice of 64 or 128 MB cards though (other sizes won't work). The memory issue is the biggest problem of both Electribes. Good video by the way

  • hey do you care repeating yourself because im stupid?

you need a smartmedia card because an SD card wont work???

what size smartmedia card would i need to transfer songs to a PC?

what else should i know when looking for a memory card? (where to get it, prices etc)

    thanks if you read this

  • experience you can get them online, smartmedia cards

  • hey, i'm considring buying one of these from ebay, how hard is it to upload your own samples to this super piece of kit?

    cheers

  • the emx1 doesn't have a sampler. you will have to use the esx1 (I don't have that machine...)

  • Hey great video. Can you hook the Kaoss pad up to this?

  • aye u can

  • hi quick question guys.... does the electribe come with all these sounds built in or does it have memory for storing samples? nice vid :)

  • You can record your patterns, from a length 1 (4/4) to 8 (4/4), in 4 banks: A00-A64, B00-B64, C00-C64, D00-D64. You can use the sounds of the factory preset patterns but the best is to create your own!!

  • ok thanks

  • one of the coolest EMX videos i've seen on here. good job, man!

  • Compared to others, this sounds like a symphony of Electribes. The masterful fingers of the Dark Saint at work! Glorious melody, in a veil of chaos.

    5/5

  • pimp that emx

  • so glad to hear something other than club music coming out of this thing. might have to get one now! thanks!

  • Yeah you most definitly made that thing your bitch.

  • fishmonger can u explain what is the SX stands?i am like this kind of music like prodigy/ some songs of enter shikari, boinic ghost kids etc...i am intresting to start play

  • how long did it take you to learn all the controls and functions? i've had mine for about a week and i'm still as lost as the day i took it out of the box :/

  • hi !

it took me one or two weeks, not more. but I have practiced other instruments in the past like the korg karma so it was very easy for me.

so don't worry, just practice and punish your machine!!

I have a clean version of Aether on myspace. /crossangelproject

    Bye!

  • Wow, this song is sick!

  • this is nang

does any1 know if its imposible to sample anythin on it?

like can i plug in mi synth record a line and play it back ont he emx ??

or do i need an esx

i dont se the differnece between the 2

    help
