  • they need to put this game on xbox live and playstation network

  • It was actually a woman but who cares who it was the music kicks do much ass

  • Or girl...

  • The guy who composed this is a genius.

  • @zooropah82 Michiru Yamane, it was from her early works on Castlevania, for me, this is her masterpiece

  • More like game from heaven.

  • one of the best games i ever played!!

    now im 26

    greetings from argentina

  • Awesome songs but... Why the fuck is Dracula hiding in England ?

  • @JVShark999 Not Dracula: his niece, Elizabetha, who was resurrected by a evil witch called Droltza, both are hiding in a castle called "Prosperina" in order to resurrect Dracula.

  • @JVShark999 : But Dracula is familiar with England. Didn't you read the original book Dracula from Bram Stoker? The books takes place half in England.

  • the song fits the boxart

  • I get chills when i hear this song!

  • @Shrimpchickenrice

    Hahahahaha, DEEEEEEEEEEERP!

  • *picks up the phone* Yes, Heaven? What is it -this- time?

  • MUSE should do a cover of this! It's just begging for it! :)

  • the one who dislike this came from hell mothafacka

  • The music in the last level in Lament Of Innocence before you reach Walter had a tune quite similar to this one.

  • @galti111 I thought about it when you said it but i cannot find the LoI part you speak of....but the beginnin of the song does sound like it....>.<

  • This should be the theme for the castle keep in Castlevania 1999.

  • Genesis may only have one Castlevania, but it's music is 2nd to None! You just gotta love how the Genesis sounds :D

  • @TMNtamonte Inferiof Music my ass!!!! This is the epitome of Video game music. I agree with u 100%!!!

  • @Chepito2846 This is how it is for me

    stage design: Bloodlines

    Music: Bloodlines

    Sound quality: snes

  • @SoopahUltraTV well the sound quality is kind of a mixed bag.some sounds on bloodlines sound weird and screechy.but the music itself is one of the best the genesis has to offer.at least the composition and melodies

are well made.stage 2 and stage 6 music are fine examples of great music on the genesis.

  • @Johny2662 Then don't play it. That's what makes the level, it's like; 'Hey you made it, NOW DIE!!!'

  • @AlexSmashX2 Hey, no need to get like that.

  • @AlexSmashX2 Alright forget what I just said but don't tell me not to play it!

  • definitely the greatest castlevania track ever.....got teary eyed the first time i heard it.

  • best theme in the entire series.

    love it.

  • People say Super Castlevania IV was a great game. And to be honest, they're not wrong, but when it comes to pushing a system to its limits, SCIV came nowhere close. Bloodlines, however, it did more than that. It not only pushed the Sega to damn near close its audio limits, but it bled epic win.

  • @TetsuNideji interesting... imo SCV4 had the better VGM, but Bloodlines by FAR had better level design.

Bloodlines also gets bonus points for having 2 playable character as far as replayablility.

  • @xSayPleasex That VGM comment is highly debatable, as genesis's sound chip has a more earthy tone to it.

  • @TetsuNideji I don't know about you, but it pushed it's gamers to their limits as well. It left me with a huge sense of

accomplishment when I beat it on my Genesis.

  • @TetsuNideji Also there's an effect in level 3 that compares with SNES's Mode 7, even if it isn't Mode 7. That part amazed me.

  • @Julienfun

The leaning tower of pisa in the background? Yeah. Amazing how much the Sega genesis could do despite being "inferior" techwise to the SNES. Either way, the Genesis had amazing games, as did SNES, but I'm glad I was a Sega kid.

  • @TetsuNideji i like them both equal

  • One of the most underrated games of all time! My second favorite castlevania game behind SOTN.

  • @FireArmsResQ hell yea.this and Symphony will always be the best!!!!!

  • OMG memories come rushing back i used to love coming home from school playing this game just listening to the soundtrak made me feel like dude with the lance forgot his name

  • @trustjab Eric, You need to experience this game on expert man.

  • obviously GB is the best, thats why they made it the last stage :)

  • When it comes down to which is a 'better' game, it's entirely up to opinion. We can talk about all the 'expert opinions' in the world about SCV4 and CV Bloodlines, but each person will think what he or she thinks, regardless, albeit because of fond memories of playing the game, a preference in music, stage designs, etc. So for now, I say we all just enjoy this awesome music!

  • After having recently completed both games, I can say without a second thought that the music in Bloodlines is far, far superior to the music in SCIV; outside of the amazing Theme of Simon and a few other pieces here and there that fit, the music is simply ambience at best, completely weak at worst. Michiru Yamane is a real composer and I think the success of a few tracks from this game, and the amazing SOTN soundtrack prove it.

  • I love this song; Bloodlines had a badass OST in general. Also, does this particular arrangement sound like it could be a song in Super Mario Galaxy (albeit with a more up to date composition, of course), or is that just me?

  • l Think bloodlines has better level designs than SCIV but SCIV has got better gameplay

also the bosses in Bloodlines are really imaginative compared to other castlevania games

  • This sounds like Leons theme

  • For final stage music its really nice, I really hate that boss battle with death though, such a pain to deal with...

  • I consider this John Morris' official theme.

  • Bloodlines easily has a perfect sound track. Each tune unique and memorable.

  • This song would've been perfect in Castlevania: Symphony Of The Night!!!

  • Akumajo Dracula's version is so good.

  • DanceofGold i was on the concert to,,this was amazing performed ,how can i miss the original version of this song,,anyway very good track!

  • ooh LUCKY YOU , got to watch the concert!

  • OMG! I seem to hear some parts of a song from PoR, but I can't remember the song!

Anyway, love this track, love this level, love this whole freaking game!

  • Wow. I searched for this cos I heard the violin version of it performed at the castlevania concert. Didn't know about this wonderful track!

  • What a masterpiece, so far one of my favorite Castlevania themes.

  • How can something this awesome sounding be coming from the Genesis?

  • @tehkao

the genesis is magic my friend... magic

  • Well, it takes a great composer to pull it off, who not only creates a great composition, but also know how to program the FM instruments properly.

  • Those arpeggios... straight from Beethoven's moonlight sonata 3rd movement.

  • This song sounds like our heroes are just about ready to kick some final ass.

I wonder why this song hasn't been reused in other Castlevania games. It's got the right amount of urgency and danger to it.

  • Actually, it has! :P

  • ???

Well, don't just stand there, tell me! :)

  • They probably don't like this game too well at Nintendo...and i dont think they feal like using its songs all to much.

  • And this game stands out so much, it wouldn't seem right to put this song(Or the others) in another game. Iron Blue Intention is probably going to be the only song they take from this game. And I think songs lose value being put in other formats than what they were originally intended for.

  • Wrong.

Old Sinking Sanctuary (Atlantis Shrine) is reused in Legacy of Darkness (Tower of Art, best version IMO) and in Circle of the Moon.

This one, Calling from Heaven, is remixed, IMO, in Lament of Innocence, as "Leon's Theme".

  • That's it now isn't it. And i don't think it sounds like Leon's theme...I'll have to listen to it again.

  • I think serously that Leon's theme is inspired by Calling from heaven. Perhaps not fully, but there are some parts that are obviously parts of Callong from heaven, slowed.

  • @DamascusTer

You are right. In fact, Leon's Theme sounds like many classic CV songs mixed together.

  • Thanks (Avec un tel pseudo, tu es français ? )

  • @DamascusTer Québécois. ;o

  • truth is that castlevania bloodlines for the genesis had the best of all castlevania soundtracks and since it was the only castlevania for SEGA thats why the music wasnt in other games

  • Just because it was for SEGA doesn't mean the music can't be used for other games. For example, The Sinking Old Sanctuary came from Bloodlines but was later used for Legacy of Darkness (N64) and Circle of the Moon (GBA).

  • It sounds daring, as well.

  • @tons0phun What is more daring than entering Castlevania armed with a whip ready to fight the lord of evil in a battle to the death?

  • @OgnarPliskin

    Doing it on hardmode

But seriously, I hated level 7 in bloodlines, but loved how it was beautifully crafted. The music fit perfectly with it as well, also making it one of my most loved Castlevania Stages.

  • @TetsuNideji Yeah, I love it. Have you ever heard the arrangement? It's on the Dracula Perfect Battle or something like that. It's a ballad.

  • Strangely enough, I've not heard of it. I'll go look at it right now.

If only I had a whip, a throwing cross, holy water, wall meat and an axe.

  • @TetsuNideji I wish I had afterimages like Alucard and AoS Soma.

  • @OgnarPliskin

Yeah, the after images were so sick.

    Dual wielding whips. Rofl.

  • @Cyke101 I don't know, but I think it inspired Leon's Theme in Lament of Innocence. I could definitely hear some "Bloodlines" in that track.

  • @carparts8382 Makes sense, both songs were composed by Michiru Yamane, I believe.

  • @Cyke101 yep, this is one of those tracks that makes u feel that and a lot more of things, its by far, my favourite theme from the whole saga

  • @somacruzfirm I'm glad you posted. Whatever words I could come up to describe this song with would never do it any justice, I think.

  • Personally, they should also Remake the game for PSP (using only Updated sprites and more recent versions of the songs). Imagine this game on the PSP Handheld, and the DS!

  • Thanks a lot! Now I'm anticipating ANOTHER game thar will never happen (others including Shenmue 3 and another good Sonic game).

  • It sounds a lot like Leon's theme at points.

  • THAT IS JUST F***ING AWSOME

  • they shoudl release bloodlines sullo wii

  • This when he was in England, I remember walking upside down, I love this music, it was also at the end of a movie, I can't think of the movie.

  • Wow! JUST FUCKING WOW!

Saying this track is epic is an understatement. This track is... PANORAMIC! Feels like you're on top of a mountain looking at the vast scenary around you. One of my favourite tracks in the entire castlevania series.

It also have this "you've finally made it to the end and it's time for you to fight the big boss" feel to it. Like as if the music is giving you a sense of hope.

  • Ahh, hearing this song makes me wanna boot up my Genesis and beat this game again and again.

  • Is it just me or was Castlevania Bloodlines superior to Super Castlevania IV? I played both versions subsequently a while back to catch up on the series. I found the snes game to be a bit drab, graphic wise. I understand it was used to showcase the snes in its early days, but the level design was just too samey!

  • They both had their strengths and weaknesses, though Bloodlines has awesome music and gameplay, Castlevania IV has a gothic feel to it that fits best with the Castlevania series, along with interesting traps and a more realistic environment. They're both excellent games, though. I couldn't decide between the two.

  • I agree. The control is pretty good in 4 but the level design, boring music and repetitive enemies really let it down.

  • @liamthelion182

Both Super Castlevania IV and Bloodlines were memorable.

The Genesis utilized graphics while the SNES utilized music.

    Look at DOOM.

The Genesis version had great graphics, but the music was god awful.

The SNES version had superb music, but the graphics were not so good.

Both systems had their pros and cons.

  • @Richterbelmont365 The SNES doom games controls sucked ass too.

  • @AlexSmashX2

That may be the case, but a game is defined by game play, not graphics.

Thats what these people these days can't understand

  • @liamthelion182 Dude the SNES castlevania was better, the music was better, graphics, controls, the only difference is that is a remake of the firs game, but anyway is better. Although Bloodlines is a damn fine game almost as good SC4

  • @liamthelion182 Mobility: Super Castlevania IV (Simon belmont can whip everywhere, that's awesome)

Level Design: I think it's a tie.SCV IV got very cool effects, but overall Bloodlines has a good design.

  • @liamthelion182 LOL no, its Super Castlevania IV that's superior to Bloodlines. Super Castlevania IV is widely considered by experts, gamers and AVGN to be one of the best if not the best Castlevania game, Bloodlines isn't. Am not calling it a bad game but that's fact my friend, i played both of them.

  • @HUNTERlllll yep, many factors makes SCV4 a more enjoyable game, but Calling from Heaven is Calling from heaven <3

Also SCV4 has a lot more of stages, but both are really awesome imo each one with their own pros

  • @HUNTERlllll I have a feeling that alot of the people saying Bloodlines is superior to Super Castlevania IV are really Sega fanboys. I'm not saying that this is not a good game (it is), but like you said, when people think of the very best Castlevania games, Super Castlevania IV is always one that is brought up. That said, Konami really needs to be put this song back into a new game. It's a great tune.

  • @liamthelion182

SCV4 was made as a release game, while bloodlines was released later down the line. It's obvious that bloodlines will be a bit more polished but I personally like SCV4 better. Both are great games though.

  • @liamthelion182 SCV4 its from early snes games (91) and Bloodlines its later (94) even later than Rondo but this track, no care how many Castlevanias could be made, its my favourite... no dubt, Calling from Heaven its heavenly~<3

  • @liamthelion182 I know this is old, but I wanted to say that I agree with you. Bloodlines has those special kind of 16 bit graphics, when it's done perfectly and it looks really stylish. I also somewhat disliked the music in 4. It was bland, and not the traditional fast-paced castlevania music the series was known for, as is demonstrated in this video.

  • @liamthelion182

Let's see, 8-way whipping and the ability to use your whip to swing on hooks Bionic Commando style.

Does Bloodlines have that? "NO", I say!

  • @RocMegamanX Actually, yes it does. Not only that, but you can swing on anything at all. It doesn't have 8 way whipping, but that was deliberate, judging by the fact that both characters control differently.

  • @alec1382

When does this happen? I've played it on an emulator before, and I don't remember the whip character swinging on anything.

That still doesn't change the fact that there are only about 3 continues and that's it. That's the problem.

  • @RocMegamanX You can swing on any surface. Just whip upwards at it and he should latch on.

The limit on continues isn't too much of a problem, since the difficulty such that 3 continues can be plenty to a decent player. I can beat the normal difficulty without continuing. I've also beaten the expert difficulty on the same 3 continues.

  • @liamthelion182 (continued)

    Not to mention UNLIMITED CONTINUES.

  • @liamthelion182 superior in every way.....

  • @liamthelion182

Indeed, bloodlines has a much more polished look to it, even though the SNES was superior in hardware over the Genesis.

  • @liamthelion182 Ah, Bloodlines may be superior in look, but gameplay wise, SCIV could possibly be the best in the series.

  • @liamthelion182 also, the graphics of the stages were less defined, and more estructurated, less artistic in a lot of ways, and no,it's not just you....the sega castlevania:bloodlines was better...also,the music sounded more like MUSIC on bloodlines, that it was on snes castlevania 4,in cv4 it was the same ''8-bit-like'' music....another ''note''is the efects, from the water to the lightning, they were better designed on bloodlines.

    good observation

  • @Eneomaosorchestra easier to say it after somebody said it,over all, because i know there is somebody who thinks like me

  • @liamthelion182 Dude Castlevania Bloodlines crushed the Snes game in game play. I don't understand why they have not made it downloadable for the Wii or PS3. This is honestly my favorite title in the series aside from SOTN, but well put, and yes it was far superior.

  • @GrassNLuna No it did not. You could not whip in eight directions for one...

  • @liamthelion182 I definitely wouldn't say that. CVIV actually had some really fun level design IMO. Even though at the same time it was fucking hard later on. >_<

  • This song needs to return in a future Castlevania title.

  • @OgnarPliskin I second that! And let it be a GOOD castlevania game.

  • @OgnarPliskin It did. Cursed clock tower in Dawn of Sorrow is a remix.

  • @SgtSmilies Not really. They sound too different to be even recognizable.

A closer "remix" in DoS would be the opening theme when Soma's talking to Mina. That's Tower of Dolls.

  • @OgnarPliskin also the traditional gameplay needs to return in a future Castlevania title

  • i'm totally lost on it!! Hit me up when you get the message

  • A mi tambien me gusta mucho esta musica, es una de las que prefiere en Bloodlines, con la cansion de Simon.

Pero me parece que esta musica es tambien la cansion de Leon Belmont en Lament of Innocence.

  • Think I agree with you on that one.

  • I like a lot listening remixes of old melodies in new castlevanias, like for example, Iron Blue Intention in Portrait of Ruin/Gallery of Labyrinth, which come from Bloodlines/Next Generation.

  • esta es una excelente rola gracias teaselbonne2

  • WOW! this is one of my fave music from the entire castlevania series.. thnx for the upload ^_^
