  • How f*cking disrespectful wearing shades on parade. The British Army could teach you guys a lesson in soldiering!

  • @eezy1972 the Sentinels are issued the shades, because the glare from the sun off the marble is quite blinding. They do not wear them during inclement weather. Not sure why you make the jump to disrespectful about these guys- they are fanatically dedicated to the Tomb and protecting it.

  • @dmedicFF I bet the their fallen comrades that landed on Omaha beach On D day wouldn't have asked for shades if it there was too much glare.Pathetic.

  • @eezy1972 Thats a pretty big stretch. This is a Memorial and a ceremony, not a battle, and actually many combat forces today use sun protective eyewear.

Go to the Tomb on a bright sunny day sometime. You will see what I mean- not only the glare, but the unheard of dedication and attention to duty and detail of the Sentinels.

Dont forget your sunglasses- they will help you see the Sentinels much better.

  • @eezy1972

    Nazis are pathetic, little boy.

If US troop were to land on the same beach, they would indeed be wearing protective eyewear. If they would have had it in WW2, the would have used it then too.

Just sit back and watch what a superior miltary does to honor it's war dead.

  • @eezy1972

    Not a parade.

The sunglasses are to combat the glare for the white marble on sunny days, and they are issued.

You cant teach us shyte, BTW. We taught you that lesson twice.

  • AHAHAHAAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHHAHAH

  • My uncle is the guard there now. Its very cool that I found that out. :)

  • Just breathe taking

  • hm. I don't know, but I've noticed that the Tomb guards seem to be the only ones in the entire regiment that I saw who use black belts instead of white on their weapons. What does it symbolize and whey do they do it? Just wondering

  • I mean this out of curiosity, but what happens when you sneeze or cough? Are you punished, or do they just forget that it even happened?

    For the guard I mean...

  • @Vanadell191 They just ignore it. It is expected that some sounds will happen but any sound made out of disrespect, like laughing or talking, will make the guards stop whatever they are doing and address it.

  • I have seen this. It has more impact in person....USCG.

  • Here's the formula - more dead soldiers (tools) = more profits for the corporate interests investing in war!!

So all you tools just keep firing those bullets and missiles. Uncle Sam will be happy to send your family and friends

a hugely inflated bill for the costs! And they can pay for the funeral when your dead ass comes home in a casket!

FYI- No matter what they tell ya-the US has no plans to end the war-NONE! They're counting on a lot more of you

    tools dyin so don't dissapoint!

  • @Vetwolf13 I do not know your politics, I do not know your nationality, but you should respect someone who has died for their country, regardless of nation. These tombs are guarded out of respect for those who gave their lives and will probably never be identified. Their sacrifice ensures that people like you can continue to spout the hate and ignorance you have decried. Pray for the fact that you will never have to serve in a time when needed. I would hate to have you defending me in battle.

  • ermal8711 As a former Sentinel I can assure you that it is not about the ceremony or the sentinel. It is about the unkowns. Our standard is perfection in everything that we do in an effort to honor the unkowns. We see them as real people, with families and lives of their own. I served in 1988 and 1989 and a day doesn't go by without thinking of the unkowns and their sacrifices.

  • @Ermal8711 This unknown Soldier represents those who parished in battle and their body was never sent home to their family because their body was never found. If you ever lost a loved one like this, you might understand. I pity you that you do not since our freedom is built upon the foundation of such sacrifice of blood and love.

  • @steven4068 Note that I did not insult the dead, I criticized the way that this has been turned into a comodity

  • @Ermal8711 The military shows respect by ceremony. I know men that have served in this unit and I can assure you, it is not at all Disney and if you attend, it is not entertainment but is a memorial. I am glad you did not mean to disrespect the dead. Thank you on behalf of those that sacrifice everything.

  • @steven4068 Thank you! I do not agree with the wars, but, as the grandson of a man who took up arms against the nazis in his own country (then not the US), I have great respect for any soldier since they are the first to be abused by the country they served. I see the soldiers as the first victims of bad policy and erroneous thought. I only hope that in the future nations can truly take into account the realities of what a war can bring and what the troops suffer when they are send out!

  • @Ermal8711 Soldiers hate war more than anyone since they know the realities of it....they also know there are times when man is violent, the only way to stop them other than just laying there to be conqured or die is to use the sword. Not all war is immoral but make no mistake, those that lie to mankind and it's Soldiers and that lie leads to war and death, well, blood will be on their hands and will have to face God for their actions.

  • @steven4068 I am completely against war, but I respect and honor those that have served to defend with their lives the country that I live in. How shame on you!?! I have attended this ceremony and not for 1 second did I believe or feel that this could in any way be compared to a Disney show!! Actually I walked away not only in tears for those that have died, but also very humbled to be in the presence of such great honor!

  • @Ermal8711 It isn't a show, they will perform this ceremony regardless if there is people or not. The true intention of the audience should be to have respect for those who died nameless, not for mere amusement. The difference is, you go to a Disney world show to have fun. You may see the Changing of the Guard at The Tomb Of The Unknown Soldier ceremony because you know that the souls may rest in peace being guarded by the soldiers of today.

  • @Ermal8711 difference is you're a fucking douche bag, people died for our country, Mickey Mouse is a cartoon

  • Comment removed

  • @Ermal8711 I believe that you are mistaken. People go to the Tombs of the Unknown to show their respect for those soldiers that will forever guard this sacred ground, and to honor those that paid the ultimate price.

Your logic and analogy is because you have never had to worry about this because of people like myself. You see, you are one of those that feel that they are entitled, and because of this you will never understand.

  • haz697 just wishes he could say "I'm proud to be an American."

  • It is a roll step..it is from extensive training and takes time and practice to get to where they are now.

  • Needless to say, very interesting.

I know it sounds kind of stupid but I think it's amazing how they walk to be honest. The way they walk seems incredibly disciplined or something along those lines, like if you only recorded the top half of them they keep their bodies so still whilst walking you would actually think they're floating. I guess these guards have been really trained though so it's expected.

  • As a British man who is joining the British navy I can say haz697 does not represent me and I can pretty much say the rest of the serving personel. I respect you USA for this and the fact you honor your war dead this way .

  • @SuperAdrianWilliams And we respect you VERY much. Your a great friend to our nation...no...more than a friend...your a brother.

  • God bless America.

  • They are carrying M1A1 or M-14's, not the older M-1. No, they are not loaded. This weapon uses a 20 magazine and is you take note, no magazine is inserted. They are also carrying issue Beretta 9mm handguns. I have no knowledge if they are loaded or not. Personally I believe they are, but that is only my personal opinion.

  • These men are awesome thank God for America.

  • Hallie5309

I was a Dogface soldier 4-64 armor 24th Inf Div

  • If you were or in the third infantry. Write me a note ;)

  • " Americans love war. All real Americans Love the stink of battle" Who said this?

    It was not me.

  • @hallie5309 George S. Patton. said it. A man who knew war. personal.

  • I love a man in uniform!!! Very Cool

  • There real men! Doing what they believe in. I love to talk to one of them. 3rd Infantry is the coolest Army unit in the world A fan Hallie.

  • This rules more then anything has ruled before! HaAHAHah yes

  • Actually this video skips a lot if you notice the video pans in and out its not one continuous shot. Trust me I've seen it and I am in the United States Army. That guard replacement does not begin his guard shift until his rifle and uniform has been fully inspected and the proper military respective formalities are conducted.

  • @haz697 Haz....this is not a typical guard...nor are they doing a "regular" inspection. Before they even step off to do their duty, everything with the guard is already PERFECT. They are not really inspecting or even guarding like a Soldier typically would. They are guarding the tomb mainly ceremonially but as Soldiers are serious and can take care of business accordingly but there are other guards that are in the area near the cemetery that take care of everything else.

  • @steven4068 is it possible that ther m1's are loaded

  • @haz697 you're a fuckin' euro tool. Your emasculated nation is but a mere pathetic shadow of it's former self.

    Bow your motherfucking head, bitch.

  • @101327 lmfao sure thats why your country speak my countrys language, adopted my countries structure of government and this "euro tool" well if your a white american sorry buddy but your probably a euro tool yourself.

  • @haz697 fuck u and ur pussy sports (football/soccer) and ur bad teeth

  • @treybennett9750 Big Mac anyone?

  • @haz697 Apparently you are UNAMERICAN or incredably stupid!!!!!!!!!!!

  • @haz697 Die in a fire, you mother fucker. If you ever cross my path, make sure you don't let me know you're the piece of filth that posted this comment.

  • These guys make me proud to be an American and if someone can't stand, unless they're elderly or disabled, leave this ceremony! They show ULTIMATE respect for those who gave their lives to make the GREATEST country on earth!

  • the most inspected and least fired weapon in the american military arsenal.

  • lol! Sgt. D-hole!

that's what it sounds like to me.

    all kidding aside.

May the fallen rest in peace.

  • why cant you all just enjoy the ceremony like ive enjoyed other coutries ceremonies.

  • You are correct that it should not be necessery to tell people to show respect but apparently someone at some time must have discrupted the ceremony.

  • Oh and by the way, it IS a big deal, a VERY big deal. You obviously do not fully grasp what this is all about. The occupant of the grave of the unknown soldiar lies in proxy for ALL those who have fallen and died silently without fanfare and without anyone knowing who they are or what they did. It is the ultimate ceremony to honor the ultimate sacrifice.

  • The inspection is to verify that the guard meets the minimum standard to be worthy to guard the grave, that minimum standard being, as should it be, absolute perfection.

  • How Ironic, you are using a gift that not many people in this world have. The right of freedom of speech. Right that you did not fight for. Sadly, people have given their life that you could be right here and right now. You should show more respect. This is what this is all about. Respecting those who gave everything( their life) that others can live their's.

    RIP.

  • uh. that speaks wonders of your intelligence. THAT is the way WE do it in this country. if you live in another country than STAY in that shit hole. IF you have the privilige of living in the USA and don't like it MOVE to some shit hole country of your choise.

  • I saw this in person last week. They ask everybody to stand to be respectful. Two times during the ceremony, somebody sat down. The guard stopped the ceremony and wouldn't proceed until everybody was standing.

  • Americans for you. Can't even show respect for 10 minutes in their own country. *sigh*

  • Americans stand...only those that do not realize what being American is, sit.

These two might have had health issues etc, not sure...but if they were fine, it is a shame for them..oh yeah, there is no shame these days, only emotional issues stemming from society, bad parenting and a worsening economy...so people are no longer really responsible for their own actions. This makes it the soldiers fault for rebuking those that sit, according to some twisted minds.

  • Wow that is VERY strict just for the change of the Guard of the Unknown Soldier Tomb.

  • It is a mark of our respect for those who have gone before us.
