  • used this for my school project.

    p.s. NOEL ON PULLEA!!!

  • @rasvasoturi I fap while watching this comment :P

  • Thanks! Needed that for homework :)

  • awesome video canadians !

  • Hijos de puta!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • went its at 140 it looks like hes mad at you

  • i like it

  • Maybe a silly question, but where do the electrons come from when they are "generated"??

  • Find Hydro power jobs at envirocruit

  • Copy the URL and then paste it in the slide that ypu wanna paste it @yanitza85706

  • Read my Mind @Redx161 !

  • Read my mind Redx161 !!!

  • hahahahah how can you paste this on a power point of mine....? or can you or not can someone answer me...?please:)

  • @yanitza85706 hahahaha! right! xD

  • Those who decry dams yet advocate 400-foot wind turbines are hypocrites in many ways.

The visual impact of wind turbines is much less natural-looking than a lake behind a dam. Both methods generate electricity via the movement of molecules, and both affect wildlife, but wind turbines spoil the horizon in way low-lying dams don't. They also force unnatural noise & light into their environs.

I'm NOT advocating more dams, just pointing out that wind-farm pushers are not "green" overall.

  • excuse my grammar im high

  • this is why education TV/internet way better than schooL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • awesome

  • hmmm my friend works at a hydroelectric plant and he makes fuckin sweet money and it seems like there's not a whole lot to it. I do waste water treatment and im responsible for all kinds of different things and i make less then him. I dont get why

  • In some sense, this is a form of solar power, since the renewable aspect of it comes about when heat from the sun causes the water to evaporate and retreat to higher altitudes to become the river source again.

  • my homework is done(: tysv awesome xDD

  • GET A LIFE DUDE!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Way to go Ontario. Wish our politicians would wake up and provide us with hydro too instead of nuclear.

  • You Tube should change it's name. I want a Title for each subject. There are 300 Million people in America. 150 Of whom can use the internet (others use writing pad). Subject Videos are made by Professors that's accurate as possible to our knowledge. Comments are posted about the subject matter. Your Profile is made by you. You have to choose from a list of 20 Photos. The You Tube Website is created clean and good looking.

  • excellent training video

  • We should drop a few of these suckers into the ocean and just harness that shit!

  • I know and to be applied the technology, for the generation of energy and later distribution wireless (magnetic resonance), this technology is based on natural resources, like the superconductive gravity and properties and anti gravity of gold. These technologies were formulated by Nicola tesla, but the Jewish machinery of publicity DES discredited the informing it and isolated so that the humanity could not know and still more to enjoy this resource, by which we do not have to pay

  • i find this hard to masturbate too :(

  • This old man is a chump. Sir please research your topic further, your incompetence disturbs me. Consider a career in the funeral industry. For you are rather good at butchering things.

    Good day.

  • @SuperHill94 Even if this man was a "chump", you just massively outchumped him by being such a jackass. Enjoy.

  • Sustained energy for ever

  • extremely imformative

  • where is this place?

  • In answer to the question, no it doesn't. It is probably the cleanest, safest, form of energy around. It actually oxygenates the water and sends it off for the fish to enjoy, The water doesn't touch the generator, they sit up top of the turbine. The turbine does not get hot.

  • When we were kids, we used to play around an old abandoned hydro plant, it was small, we were lucky we never got hurt. They had a dam, a weed trap, a 6 foot diameter pipe with about 5 inches water zipping down at 45 degrees about 200 feet, into the turbine, the generator sat on top of this in a brick house, the turbine was rusted shut, we would creep down the tube in the dark, get to the house and swim through the hole, all day, check it out, pecks pond, pittsfield ma.

  • Does a Hydro-Electric Energy Plant corrode and cause water to be contaminated??

  • I enjoy watching this video, but I wonder. Don`t the stator get very hot from inducting electric current? How do they handle the heat! It must be a burden to repair anything in the turbine! Can anybody tell, how they compress the water from getting into the generator? I can not imagine that the rotor is blocking the water, it would cause too much friction energy and the rotor could not rotate fast enough causing lots of power loss!

  • there is one problem with hydroelectric and wind and solar, they do not produce much and you got to have certain conditions for it to work

  • just think when there is too much to flow through the pipe, the water will go over, and think how dangerous that will be

  • @yoshiwinsagain I'm sure there is some sort of flood gate system that allows extra water to bypass the system.

  • see that snow and rain That is what powers your house! :)

  • one question, what happens to the fish that enter the pipe of doom?

  • @XxImm0rtallityxX They usually have what they call a Fish Ladder, which is an area that diverts off for fish to swim down.

Hydro power does have a drawback there, in that it can disrupt wildlife, but I think if it is built right, it's not a big problem. Plus, disrupting some fish is nowhere near as bad as causing global warming.

  • @XxImm0rtallityxX They become food, for the fish downstream.

  • lol, i think about 95% of people who have watched this used it for a presetation at school... incueding me. It is a great vid though thanks :)

  • @RedX161 yup

  • @RedX161 True dat Lol:)

  • hey

  • Pretty cool but do you how much watts it gives?

  • The UK (England, Scotland, Wales and Norhtern Ireand), the government here is too stuck up their own arses and incompetent to build a large scale dam for use of hydroelectricity on a large scale. Yes, we do have hydro plants smal and large but not massive like the Hoover (which is medium sized by American standards) and that massive Sayano–Shushenskaya Dam in Russia. A river called the Conwy in North Wales is one of the best sites for a Hoover dam type structure.

  • Canada is so great!

  • thankyou :) this is a big help

  • In Rebublic of Karabagh, we use 90% hydro-electric ations

  • im doing a project in tech on this alternative energy source , how many damns are they're in ontario canada, and how much energy do thye produce, thank you if you can answer this for me :)

  • Nikola Tesla designed the first hydroelectric power plant at Niagara Falls, New York which started producing electrical power in 1895.

  • thats fucking amazing to actually think someone came up with this idea!!!

  • If water can propel a turbine to spin that fast and create electricity, can electricity itself do the job at less work (less energy)?

  • @heartlessvietboy No you can't convert that energy in to even more energy. There is alway a large loss in any energy conversion. For instance on a car the best we can do to optimize the energy used by gasoline is a turbo charger which recycles exhaust energy yet there is a lot of mechanical loss through the friction of the entire mechanical process.

  • Why can't it be possible by designing an electric generator that can make lightening bolts? If a single lightening bolt is 75,000 Watts, why can't we use a method to create a lightening bolt to give us electricity?

  • @heartlessvietboy Well it's never been proven to work but Tesla designed something like that. Of course it involves messing with the ionosphere or the earth and the consequences on the weather are unknown, I just think man needs to stay away from playing god all the time before we destroy ourselves.

  • We can make electricity. It makes lightning bolts.

  • It's true. We should begin thinking about the things we're doing to make sure we aren't destroying ourselves.

  • I thought a transformer increases the amount of electricity? Meaning you get more electricity than what you produced.

  • @tnguyen318 The transformer changes the Voltage and the Current. The power generated remains the same, since power is Voltage multiplied by Current. Usually transformers increase the Voltage and to reduce the current which minimises power losses during transmission. Step-down transformers then reduce the Voltage to usable levels before electricity reaches consumers.

  • What are non-usable levels? What is multiplied by current?

  • This was the worst fucking video on hydro electric power i have ever seen ... you like cock in ass

  • I'm gonna use this for my presentation =) thanks for uploading!!!

  • What do you think about NAWAPA?

  • @despinapjr Yeah, no, its not real yet. Flagged as spam. :)

  • Great Asian women for you **lushfmlk.info**

  • awesome!! thx

  • thats my science hwk done

  • I am a fifth grade teacher and I would like to use this video in my classroom. How can I have access to it?

  • Look at that clean, simple, and SAFE.

  • this is very helpful for my project

  • WOW thanks

  • Genius... wish we could do more plants like this!

  • see hydrogravitypower on u tube

  • i wan to download this

  • In a hydro-electric power station, a dam is built to hold water at a high position so that potential energy is stored. When water flows down, potential energy is converted into kinetic energy. The running water drives a turbine which turn drives a generator to produce electricity.

  • I am also doing a project on Hydropower! One Question, Is it the force of the water that creates the power? Please Reply

  • @TheSingStarPrincess it is the force of the water due to gravity. the amount of energy a dam can hold is E=mgh (m=mass of water g=acceleration due to gravity (9.8) h=height difference of water levels) this 'falling water' spins the turbine in the same way water spins a water wheel. it is just that this mechanical energy (spin) is converted to electrical energy (electricity) by the generator

  • @kilvo000 Thank you so much! This really helped...

  • me & my group are using this for a science project, thanks.:)

  • hydroelectric generators, solar panels, and wind turbines are the only difference between us and the alien race that will enslave us someday

  • thank you sicince project too! lol

  • Onlyy 100,000 olympic pools? Sounds like too few to me...probably more like 500,000 a day.

  • sweet for my science project :P

  • thnx lol science project too XD

  • It's us, Jasper/Rens/Martijn

  • needed this for a geoghrapy presentation :D

    thanks a lot!

  • In Sri Lanka we use hydro-electric power stations ONLY. No coal no nothing just water.

  • @fanofsongs it is because the electric demand is low,,

  • @joe99matt probably so...but still

  • @fanofsongs that is great, in my home in the philippines we used in the southern part 70 percent water but the rest of the country still utilizes coal and geothermal.

  • @fanofsongs Thats good, more countrys need to follow suit and use green energy too. Coal is just bad, it may produce energy but it also poisons the enviroment.

  • lol i needed this for a science project

  • i'm different i need it for a history project :P so ty

  • @Naddy008

lolz im so stereotypical i needed dis for a science project.... :P u prob feel special XD

  • LOL. Like everyone else, I needed this for a science project.

  • Thx needed it for a science project

  • thanks needed this to write a pare for science helped alot

  • wow i didnt know all that, thanx for posting!

  • Earth comes first!!!

  • this is how all nations should produce electricity and not use nuclear power tt is destroying our beloved planet!

the elite hates using the simple method as it doesnt cost too much, instead the elite uses the expensive ones at the back of the population! bastards that should not be supported! salut

  • "this is how all nations should produce electricity"

Other renewables are good too. Geothermal has less environmental impact.

"not use nuclear power tt is destroying our beloved planet!"

The amount of earth that nuclear power has damaged detectably is absolutely tiny. Transport does most of the damage. Then farming. Then fossil fuel power generation.

"bastards that should not be supported!"

    True.

  • @m3141592 - "The amount of Earth that nuclear power has damaged detectably is absolutely tiny."

Absolutely tiny.. like a large amount of Japan?

  • I like this method better than the fossil fuel power. It's much cleaner. I'd love to have something like this for my house as well as work on a project for heating as well. Just think...free electricity, free heating, and if you have a diesel powered car free gas when you collect over a thousand gallons of used cooking oil.

  • Excellent Video. Thanks.

    Bob Singh, India

  • thanks i needed to how it works for school

  • i have AIDS

  • good.

  • u r crazy? shut up!

  • b8 y isn't dis video downloading

  • c bien

    that's a good vedeo

  • Lol Why dont my peeps have 1000 of these in the Philippines

  • I work in Hydro in North Carolina and this is a good way to show my family back in California exactly what the process is. Thank you so much for putting this up!!

  • when water is used in Hep and then released into sea, isnt it more dirty or somewhat poisonous? I mean what are the effects used water can cause???

  • Comment removed

  • Same water. No change in chemistry. The only change is that some kinetic energy is removed from it, which would eventually happen by the time it arrives in the sea anyway.

  • Hmm, ohh got that later

  • What does the man say at 1:28 ? somthing Electromagnets, pls som1 tell me what he say

  • yes, large electromagnets

  • this was very helpful THANKS for the post (y)

  • Energy can not be created nor destroyed :D

It's created because of Potential Energy (mgh) going down and being converted into Kinetic Energy(mv^2/2).

    CONSERVATION OF ENERGY!

  • IM DOING IT FOR A PROJECT...

    THX...

  • HAHA!! MEE TOOOO!

  • ME TOO

  • me 2!! ;]

  • same. ;)

  • they should do this all over the world, it doesn't make anymore noise than a river or waterfall would, can be made to look spectacular & is probably the most simple and reliable form of renewable energy we have on earth.

  • peaceful energy source

  • It is not from TV. It is produce by Ontario Power Corporation and the Rankine plants. I love their productions, it is perfect

  • It's nice, but I don't know what's the name of the generate the water to electricity,if it has show the spelling than it's much better. Good!

  • well it was good but there is still quests. i have like where does the watr come from lake river pond canal un-even water waterfalls?

  • God bless Nikola Tesla!

  • I'm doing a project on Hydropower, This'll help. 1 question though, is this from a TV show? If so which? (More like 2 qestions)

  • No, it's not from a TV show. It was produced by Ontario Power Generation. We're the largest electricity company in Ontario, Canada.

  • Thanks

  • Do you live near Niagara Falls? SAB gives tours, and you can "tour" yourself the old Ontario Power Corporation and the Rankine plants (they're both abandoned, but very easy to access)

  • cool video

  • Good job and well explained.

  • Lmao...I need it for a physics project as well !

    Thanks so much !

    =)

  • thanks for this vid.

  • this is great it will help me with my project

  • this is great it will help me with my project

  • let me guess... physical geography? lol, im using it for a project too, its due tomorrow lol :) real life saver

  • thx for upload

  • thanks! I need this electricity thing for a report too!

  • I really used it for my project thnx!

  • thanks! i need this for a report!!

  • great vid! I needed it for my homework...

  • great video, thanks for uploading
