I was there for 2 of the nights and when i watched this it brought it all back, what an amazing specimen of a human being that man is or is he even human i dont know !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!Cheers.
I've been listening to the Podcast from NPR(it's a free 2 hour gift from Mr. Waits) and imagining what it would look like. Thanks for the visual sveisand!
Omar Torrez really was fantastic wasn't he? If you check out the same songs from different shows on the tour you can see/hear the difference in his playing, he got more comfortable with the material pretty quickly--just outstanding!
I still love tom Waits but it was an awful rip off, the sound was terrible, I know he has a pretty 'gutteral' voice but you could barely discern any of his banter and everything sounded horribly thin, €130, the promoters should be ashamed of themselves.
E130 x 300 seats = E390,000 per night. If you think about the sheer cost of putting that gig on - hiring the tent, putting it up in Phoenix Park and fitting it out; all the gear and equipment, powering and lighting the place, insurance, paying the staff and road crew, plus turning a profit for the performers and the promoter (why not like) 130 sounds about right. I certainly came away feeling it was worth every penny and then some.
It's funny how someone who portrayed a low life, can bring the closest thing to a religious experience to me.

There are two songs actually. It's Luncinda mixed with Ain't going down to the well.
A great mix as far as I'm concerned.

Anyone know what this song is? Please let me know;I want to get the CD. Tom Waits is excellent musically and he's not a bad actor either.

I saw the first night in Edinburgh and haven't been able to listen to anything since in case it took the magic away.
Where's Marc Ribot? No idea, but Omar Torrez was outstanding.

Ratcellar capacity is 4000: I still think it was worth every penny; and he did two and a half hours on stage.

What a voice. I know people who hate the "new" Waits growling compared to his earlier singing style, but I love it. Wish I was there.
