The bit at the beginning is scariest i think, when that poor little deformed kid was marching to the beat of the clock or whatevr. i feel sorry for the mother to be honest lol x
i had to do this in year 7 at schoo scared the crap out of me and now i have scared my gf thanks for the up load i will get lots of cuddles to night lol XD
Amazing... One of my all time favorites. I remember seeing this on channel 4 around 18 years ago, it still just as impressive and as scary as i'd remembered.... maybe even more!!!
I remember this! AWESOME! I can't believe I found it....
I recall seeing this when I was maybe 8 or younger. And at that age, I would never have the guts to look under the bed myself! LOL
Someone mentioned an Animation Festival? I recall seeing this animation with a bunch of others, but I'm not sure what it was for. Anyone else remember?
I DID first see this at an animation festival. It was so original and creepy that I never forgot it. I loved how closer it adhered to the original Germanic tale by E.T.A. Hoffman. The festival was also where I first saw Ren & Stimpy and realized there's more to animation than Disney. After watching R&S I told my sister who was with me at the time, "That was the UGLIEST cartoon I'd ever seen." I meant it in a good way; it was a refreshing antidote to Disney's sterile prettiness.
Check out the British animation awards website, they sell dvd's you may have seen volume 2, which contains sandman, but we saw it on channel 4 back when they used to commission animated shorts, maybe you saw it then?
B: There are a fair number of adults who enjoy the animation medium, that this film was intended for. It was originally shown at an Animation Festival back in the early 90s.
I wish people would get it out of their head that animation = for kids.

We've been watching this in English for Film Language, and half of the class was freaked out, mainly by the rat XD.
I hate the end though, when he's got no eyes D:

What? Tim Burton didn't have ANYTHING to do with this? Really? Why does it look so much like Nightmare Before Christmas then?

@rockmasamura
Nah it's not Tim Burton, Tim Burton's characters always have really long legs.
But Nightmare Before Christmas is amazing <3
