The way Patti told it in her autobiography, I imagined it was something like a Harry Hill fight waiting to happen(the way Eric Clapton lusted after her while she was married to GH)!
@0nCh1ng - None of us. This is a song by The Everly Brothers done long before the Beatles even existed. At least George had the decency to do a COVER rather than to PLAGIARIZE it.
The Japanese are now WELL AWARE of my powerful BOWELS. With just one FART out of my paraplegic ANUS I have sent a tsunami their way. I will will continue FARTING on everyone until DRESSYS account is DISABLED.
@Bluesquest. Yew got it wrong. Urban myth. Clapton and Patti never sing on this track (and it's George playin' the bluesy, Clapton-style lead guitar). Check out While My Guitar Gently Weeps: the Music of George Harrison for the full story. Good book. Great artist.
@Yossarian46 No, you have it wrong. I grew up next door to George Harrison and his parents were good friends with my parents. The book is a fake, and I'm considering writing a book about George Harrison.
@Blankfrackisdead, assmunch. You don't read. You don't write. You're parents? They're good friends with Meth and cheap vodka. You're their mistake. They considered an abortion but were to whacked an Booyah to go thru with it. Bye bye assmunch, Hello Spaulding fuckface. That's a great Harrison track.
@Blankfrackisdead, Awwwwwwoooooooooo, Assmunch got one right! Your and not You're!! Well call Jaime and plead your case dickwad. You can get his approval that you got 1 point right. Guess that makes up for the thousands of laugh my ass off at you mistakes you make day in and day out.....right?
Can't hear you.
It is to laugh? Is that like bend over and take it the ass talk?
@Yossarian46 yea Blankfrack tell everyone hear again how you grew up next door to George Harrison and your parents were good friends with yours. That is about as funny as your claim to have authoered twenty books, none of which you can list
@Yossarian46 I grew up next door to George Harrison and my parents were good friends with his parents. As soon as Yossie and I return fromCanada's gay pride parade I am considering authoring a book in my Manhattan studio
Great video! Thanx...that picture of him, by the white fence with the red flowers, takes one's breath. I'd never seen it, before. It's why I keep coming back to watch this vid. Pattie looks great, of course. I don't get it, though. As much as I like Eric Clapton, I just can't even imagine leaving George for him...just, can't see it...anyway...cheers...
"Ringo" fans.... In honor of Ringo's 70th, I hope U will check out my "RINGO"video. It's very retro with Beatleish touches & was done as a labor of love and with the utmost respect for the Fabs. My attempt at putting a little bit of the Beatle spirit out there for Beatle fans. It's also my tribute to George Harrison's slide playing as well as Ringo's unique style.
I would have beat him till he was dead dead dead! even though we were only smoking cigs, it may get me too! GOD always knows what is best for us all! If I do not make it though this operation I will not let go of your hand this time.
Your Isabella P.S IT WAS NOT BYE BYE LOVE, just a new one and it was quick!
@Isabella4849 Wow, you really love George. If I'd ever have stared into those eyes I think I would have experience spontaneous combustion, right on the spot. Just looking at a poster of him, on my friend's wall 'all those years ago' was enough to enlighten my young mind, as it was. That was when I literally discovered Rock n Roll, and fell, once and for all, for gorgeous, long haired men! Still adore the man. Anyway, I hope you are feeling better, my dear...
While my Guitar Gently Weeps....for the pain when patti was with Eric....all the times we were in New York and London and you played Acoustic to me, I thought at the time I was to young to marry you and now it would have been ok, but every time i see Dhani OMG i am looking at YOU! i was happy when you married Olivia just after Dhani was born. and when you were stabbed, Olivia cracked his head with that lamp,
Night's in White Satin 67'..........this song was playing at that party in New York and those guys where grabbing me,and you walked over and took my hand. WHEN OURS EYES LOCKED and we left for 3 days but it was silk and i did not no what a beatle was you were famous but you took care of me and i did not tell you my age but it did not matter..........MISS YOU GEORGE
THE 3 GREATEST YEARS OF MY LIFE!
I am fighting stage 4 cancer, if i don't make it will be with you again
I love this song! The one of Everly Brothers is very different (it is soft rock&roll in major, and the Harrison song is in minor) and has nothing to do with this strong feeling which is apparent in Harrison version. So I think it is 100% Harrison, and one of his best songs.
The speed of the track is obviously acelerated, note the pitch of George's voice. Maybe George did it to make a joke of his own track. The real speed is around 93%.
The WHINING version!

The Beatles are great, and so is George, but I gotta say Simon and Garfunkel do this one a lot better.
fishe153 2 years ago
I love Simon and Garfunkel. But George's version is dark and blue, right down to his seething lead guitar lines. And his bass work is cool, too.

This track is peculiar as Eric is on it, plus Patti Boyd singing - as she switches from George to Eric.
lyrics = ''I hope she's happy, and old Clapper too''
