Can play on both wings, plays WELL with both feet, eye for goal, another set piece option. There is a lot more to value than just performance and age these days such as being able to adapt to a new team. Downing wud seem to have little problem fitting in.

Again the Ashley Young thing is an opinion, and Joe Cole isnt a natural left winger, last season Young and Cole got more assists than Downing, but Downing got more goals than both.
Young got 2 less goals than downing, but a hell of a lot more assists, so he is obviously the better 1.
Downing had several chances for england, has looked v. average, whereas young looks like a classy winger a bit nervous in one game, but has way more ptential than mediocre downing.
cole is just a class above both, even without a left foot, which is why cole plays for chelsea, the top team, then young plays for villa, th middle team, then downing plays for middlesborough, th shit team.

Is this your first attempt at editing a video together?
because it would be miles better showing more recent, or just in general more depth of footage so you dont find yourself repeating clips throughout to cover ground.

according to soccerbase, riera has a goals per game ratio of 0.09 and downing 0.13 so downing gives more goals back, but, the chances of getting boro away from the riverside, are slim to none

it could be definately true because what's happened is obviously the barry deal has collapsed, Espanyol are quoting almost the same value for a transfer as Barry, so Liverpool might go for Downing, who knows? I would love to have Downing at liverpool than Riera any day of the week anyway. But who knows its all just rubbish speculation atm.

In all fairness we reached a final of the uefa cup, we've done carling cup, he already has a winners medal from that, he's making a ton of money, and as you said, middlesbrough are heading in the right direction, at his age, he'll be around for a fair bit, dont write anything off

i didnt say downing wanted to win the league i was talking about champions league football which is better than nothing, which you have. and i hardly think a few throphies ( poor trophies ) will compare with liverpools ambitions. and before you say about us finishing third its better to be in the race for trophies like the champions league, than not challengeing for them at all. any step up , is a step up which downing has realised.

To be honest i'd rather win the carling cup than start every season thinking you're gonna be challenging for the league and finishing about 15 or more points short, Downing obviously hasnt realised it or he wouldnt have said he'd rather play for middlesbrough than the scousers, maybe Gerrard will realise chelsea, man utd or arsenal would be a step up, as they can actually mount realistic challenges for the league

well id rather win big things like the champions league and fa cup and if i was downing id join liverpool to play in champions league and it will do wonders to his england chances, and gerrard knows wants to try and win the league with the club he loves ( which is more realistic than downings chances ) and we have finished above arsenal twice in past 3 seasons. saying that i have basically won the argument so bye knob head and just so you know we beat you 2-1 hahaha.

they may not win the league but they will always have a decent challenge for it unlike you. and their is a massive difference because downing should move on to a better club wereas gerrard is playing for the club he loves and still challenging for throphies and downing isnt, so i guess your the idiot for not thinking about the other side of the debate. i think we saw a bit of what he can be last season, he has great technique and will peak in the next 2 seasons.
as for johnson, i think he'd be more suited in the championship for the time being, til he matures and gets a real feel for the competative game, as for me, when he's came on in premiership games he's struggled to get involved, and gave the ball away cheaply.
As for Porrit, i havent seen anything of him, but big reputation to live up to

Again the Ashley Young thing is an opinion, and Joe Cole isnt a natural left winger, last season Young and Cole got more assists than Downing, but Downing got more goals than both.

Young got 2 less goals than downing, but a hell of a lot more assists, so he is obviously the better 1.
Downing had several chances for england, has looked v. average, whereas young looks like a classy winger a bit nervous in one game, but has way more ptential than mediocre downing.
cole is just a class above both, even without a left foot, which is why cole plays for chelsea, the top team, then young plays for villa, th middle team, then downing plays for middlesborough, th shit team.

but looking the way ashley young played in england match he look like he had no confedience. all i remember from him he a pass back what went wrong and a shot in last min downing has more confedience playing for england we have the players and skill to beat most teams but no confedience when playing in england shirt there no flow or anything. because downing has confedience i would start with him.
