Well I live in bushwick I'm a rican. The streets are safer than what they used to be but right now we got 3ni,kings,crips and bloods running around beating the shit outta eachother. Honestly whites are moving in but it's the mexicans that are blowing up over here.I'm a metalhead through and through one of the few........hate this fucking place.
I'VE BEEN IN BUSHWICK SINCE "68" AND THIS IS EXACTLY HOW IT WAS! THERE WERE MANY GANGS IN THE "BURNING BUSH" AS WE USE TO CALL IT: LATIN TOPS, SAVAGE SKULLS, TOMA HAWKS, JOLLY STOMPERS, BLACK PEARLS JUST TO NAME A FEW.
I believe Italians moved out because their locations were becoming hot because of the diversity and looking for the easy money to provide for their families...Isn't that why the Italians created the Mafia in Italy before it became international...and another point is that Im tired of people making stupid comments about whose land America is...it is the mother freaking Native Indians
Im hispanic, hence my last name, and i think Bushwick has made me who i am today...yea it had its downs more than ups but Bushwick has changed drastically...it has gotten better and to the person who said about the drugs...idk about you but there many white people that smoke Reefer Piff Joints, do cocaine and crack and where else can they get it from the drug dealers...violence is everywhere so don't judge only Bushwick
To the ignorant people that was raise in bushwick and only know street life. Do your history and see that people who did not live in bushwick wanted the properties in bushwick and therefore had drugs infiltrated bushwick which brought property value down. The plan they had back fired on them and bushwick headed downhill. So a lot of people started burning their properties for the insurance money to move out and left their properties abandoned. It has nothing to do with race.. Ignorant FOOLS
my family was forced to move from this neighborhood because of the people that moved here and the way they acted. Sorry if I dont feel sad for pushing people out when my white ass moves back to a loft. Nobody felt bad for us when we were pushed out in the 60s. Evolve or perish.
@poopmcscoopface lmao true but I heard queens wasn't dat bad I only heard jamaica by the movie theater n southside jamaica has always been bad I live on 75th rite next 2 east newyork I wonder if dat wuz bad 2 back den
My dad grew up in bushwick in da 70s n 80s he sed bushwick was sum crazy shit dere wuz drugdealers crackheads prostitutes gangs mad vandilism n wen da crack-epidemic came dere wuz crack on evry corner building block it wuz evrywere a lot has changed since da 70s and 80s new york was a crazy ass place to live unsafe but my dad made it out of da hellhole
i grew up on sumner and pulaski st. i remember the gangs of the 70's and it was scary as shit. but i survived. when you make it through brooklyn you could make it anywhere.
Very interesting footage! I, too, wonder if any of those guys are still alive and wonder what they would think now.
Things have changed so much. A police officer today could never get away with that the officer did back then at 2:11 to 2:27. An officer would be penalized or fired for those types of actions today.
This is soooo sad. Some of these gang members (if they're still alive) are now parents or grandparents. If any of them watch this clip today, I wonder how they feel knowing that this was how they spent their youth. And i wonder if their kids/grandkids are following in their same destructive path. I wish they would just play pinball, or Pong, or go to the Disco, or find a job, or anything other than creating chaos on the streets. We should learn from this and try to better ourselves.
@moon317 I live in Bushwick. Hipsters, blipsters, quipsters etc. can kiss my ass. Fuck black, fuck the white. Do what thou will, faggot, and thats a wrap.
At last, decent people are returning to areas like Williamsburg, they left because of shit like this but now are reclaiming neighborhoods that were white-european way before these animals came... Brooklyn will once again be 90% white.
Brooklyn will never be white, it hasnt been for almost 50 years, Maybe bushwick is getting lighter cause puerto ricans dont mind whites, but come to brownsville, or bedford-stuyvaesant, Or Flatbush, and say that white people belong in brooklyn, see what happens.
I remember the Devil's Rebels when I growing up in Bushwick back in the seventies...I also remember the Tomahawks....I remembe them wearing their colors and jackets, and their songs...I remember when they used to rumble in the parks, but I was too young to be out at night when they would fight...of course, you would hear about it the next day when you would go to school. I remember walking to to IS383 in the late seventies through rows of abandoned buildings...now it is all built up...wow...
Man, just seeing this I cound still smell the aroma of burnted wood from the burned buildings in Bwick, ENY, Bstuy, & SBX. Growing up as a teen in NYC in the late 70's was a hellava experience. I miss it!
I was born and raised in Bushwick.. On dekalb and irving. I still live in Bushwick now.. Alot of shit has changed, all these yuppies are moving in. Theres all these fucking Lofts and condos.. It will never be the same again. except for these crooked ass cops. Fuck the 83rd. They plant drugs on people.. They are mad crooked..
@DKiLLa1563 I wish the yuppies weren't moving in. They raise the rents to high and nigger asshole drug dealers move to other states and start turning it into a sewer just like they did to Bushwick. Bushwick was a good Italian nabe before you shines started dealing to your own fucking people.
@DKiLLa1563 i been visiting bushwick since the late 70's my aunts house over on grove between myrtle and wikoff . they have a condo right there!!!! im like "jeez"
