  • My Dream Cast: Valjean--Alfie Boe (25th) Javert--Philip Quast (10th) Fantine--Lea Salonga (25th) Cosette--Katie Hall (25th) Marius--Michael Ball (10th) Eponine--Samantha Barks (25th) Enjolras--Ramin Karimloo (25th) Thenardier--Alun Armstrong (10th) Mme. Thenardier--Jenny Galloway (10th & 25th) Gavroche--Robert Madge (25th) Little Cosette--Mia Jenkins (25th) Grantaire--Hadley Fraser (25th)
  • Would nick jonas just shut up

  • Has anyone notixed that this Cosette is not the Cosette in concert at the o2? It is a girl named katie hall! What happened? They look quite similar but not close enough to trick me

  • @kenzio9292 I think they said this girl, camilla, got sick a couple days before the O2 performances, and they asked Katie Hall to take her place. A wise choice. I dont think i would have liked Camilla as much, Katie's just got this aura about her of pure innocence, i love it.

  • at 4:12, they look like walking Zombies ;o)

  • my cast:

The best Fantine is Ruthie Henshall (10th A)

The best Thenardier is Alun Armstrong (10th A)

The best Cosette (young and older) are from 25th Anniversary

The best Mrs. Thenardier is Jenny Galloway (10th & 25th)

The best Marius and Enjolras were Michael Ball and Michael Maguire (10th A)

The best Javert was Philip Quast (10th A)

The best Valjean is, now, Alfie Bowie (25 A)

The best Eponine is Samantha Barks (25 A)

I love Lea Salonga, sad I couldnt fit her in my dreamcast :(

  • @TheRemorseful Thats my dreamcast too!!

  • @TheRemorseful But you forgot Gavroche...for me The Best is Robert Magde (25th)

  • @NelenaLoveForever95

You are right Robert Madge RULES

  • @NelenaLoveForever95

Ah yeah, he was great. Such a pity the 10th Anniversary Gavroche got so few songs

  • A minor character but favored by many is Gavroche!! He is played by Robert Madge in the 25th anniversary. Just had to give him credit or at least mention him.

  • @cokezero94 he was so cheeky, I loved him! I'm glad I've never seen him in the actual show, though. If i had to watch that kid die, i would bawl my eyes out louder than i already have at that point.

  • Michael Ball was great...he is too old to play Marius now. Nick Jonas is the right age and did a great job.

I am glad his musical experience is expanding. Great job to the entire cast!

  • To be fair to Nick, he is following the amazing voice of Michael Ball. He is trying and it's nice to know his interests expand to broadway. Though I would have loved it if Hadley Fraser had played Marius

  • The best Éponine ever!

  • The guy who played Mr. Thénardier was the most miscast in my book. No humor, too much swarmy. Dude, you are the COMIC RELIEF. Stop playing up the creepy. Of course the internet will hate on the Jonas kid too. Yeesh. Not everyone can be Michael Ball.

  • I loved it so much.Alfie was AMAZING!! Ramin was the best Enjoras ever!!!

  • Watched it live from the O2 and I must say that I am going against all odds who says that Nick Jonas wasn't good. He was good. Not as strong as the others but good. Impressive even. But I would like to comment on Katie Hall replacing Camilla Kerslake. That was the best thing yet. Camilla's voice is just to CATTY to be Cosette.

  • He doesn't seem to care about having done the concert as he says LITERALLY the same thing in every interview. Same words even!

  • i'm gonna have to disagree with all of you. Nicholas is a popstar, and he did amazing for a popstar, i'm gonna have to give him props :]

  • @AdoreKevinJ I agree had I never seen Michael Ball I would liked him even more than I did.

  • Loved everything about it except for hoe weak a voice Marius has. Not quite the Michael Ball of the 10th Anniversary! I do not know of this singer but I can only presume he has famous parents as he is not a Broadway singer.

  • Colm Wilkinson will ALWAYS be Jean Valjean but I have to say Alfie Boe is a pretty incredible 2nd His voice is amazing. After seeing Les MIs 17 times The original cast will always be the best but cant wait to see it again in London with my BFF DI xxx

  • I bought the DVD and loved it! Wonderful concert with wonderful performers. But i agree that casting Nick Jonas as Marius was a mistake. He can sing, but his voice clearly is'nt scholared enough to carry that role.

  • just bought it on dvd amazing

  • Anyone who thinks that Nick Jonas did a good job is clearly messed up in the head. He was absolutely horrible. He couldn't hold a note for the entire show and he can't act to save his life. He had the same useless expression on his face for the whole show when he is playing a character who goes through several different emotions and he used the same arm gestures the whole time as well. He honestly had no business being there in the first place

  • Alfie Boe can sing........Nick needs more experience and a few more singing lessons, this is way over his head.

  • NICK WAS AMAZING.

  • Best musical ever!

  • When I saw it in theaters I though it was AMAZING!!! i love the show and musical theater!!!!! Im a huge fan and I thought EVERYONE, even Nick was superb in their roles!!!! <3

  • ramin was NOT good. He goes sharp alot

  • I thought everyone was absolutely superb - apart from Nick Jonas who was the weakest Marius I have ever seen. The best Marius I've seen in recent years is Gareth Gates - truly excellent.

  • @HappyThoughtsToU I think Katie was a cute cossette'!

  • One word. EPIC

  • I watched it in the cinema yesterday. Wonderful show! I had never seen the actors and singers before, but I must admit they were phenomenal! Best wishes from Holland.

  • I'd like to point out another thing. Samantha Barks. In my own opinion was not bad but it was a little bit overdone. Lea Salonga as always does justice to whatever role she plays. Ramin Karimloo has every man's dream voice. Another thing that I noticed, had Nick Jonas sing the whole show like how he did in Empty Chairs, he would have done it outstandingly.

  • I watched this at the O2 and dare I say that it had me blown away. Alfie Boe, Ramin Karimloo and Matt Lucas had the best performances. Nick Jonas I must agree had a weak voice compared to the cast but I must say that he wasn't a weak link. I have heard from a few people that Nick Jonas only had weeks of training and is just 18 years old. Considering that, he did a good job. Though there's still room for more improvements. Overall it was a wonderful show!

  • Phantom of the opera is the longest running Broadway show ever not Les miserable's it's like the second i think

  • @Nikolaika77 They didn't say that. Les Mis is the WORLDS longest running musical, not Broadway.

  • You might like to compare the 02 Marius to this one:

    watch?v=CJnjcX8skXk

  • every single cast member in this prodution did a beautiful job. no need to fight over it.

  • Look, Nick was game, he gave it his all, but he just doesn't have the projection that the other theatre vets have. Not to say he won't, and not to say he dragged the show down, but he was obviously a little out of his depth. Hope he keeps plugging; he has a lot of promise. Got his start on Broadway you know; Gavroche when he was 10, and some other shows.

  • Did the girl featured here play cossette in the O2 concert filming? I didn't look like her.

  • @mrpianokid1994 no, camilla was ill so katie hall took over.

  • @mrpianokid1994 They changed her at last minute. Camila Kerslake was the original, but got sick at last moment so Katie Hall took over at the last minute, and she nailed it, which was impressive since she is an understudy. I would have licked Lucie Jones to play Cosette but oh well...

  • All these people who are hating on Nick, why don't you try actually watching this before you judge. I'd like the hear you sing a verse from Les Mes...yeah, I didn't think so. Nick is in this for a reason, he was obviously good enough to be in this. Fuck off, go find a hobby rather than bashing someone you don't even know that much about.

  • @makaylaloveseggrolls Suck it up. It's called free speech. we're allowed to criticize whoever want to. If you're a fan, you shouldn't care about what other people say. Compared to the other singers, of the show that have theatrical experience, as well as previous Marius's such as Michael Bell, hell even Ricky Martin, Nick Jonas was pretty weak.

  • Nick Jonas...worst.Marius.ever!

  • @lisiatew I've seen worst... and I saw him live and he wasn't bad... he was no Michael Ball but he still did good....

  • I tried to attach my video about this show but it didn't work so copy and paste this. /watch?v=oSZDllTxdBg

  • lea salonga is absolutely amazing.

she play eponine before--15 years ago--and now, Fantine... she's still CLASS.

  • @margaretdb I agree! I've worked myself into a rage about them selling out with Jonas. There were students in nameless roles all around him that deserved the role so much more. The whole point of musical theatre is about talent. They sold out.

And to be fair, Lea Salonga could do both :P she would just have to duet with herself at the end. I reckon she could do it ;P

  • I love that Matt Lucas and Alfie Boe are roomates. He posted a video of Alfie "warbling" to his twitter. It was so funny!

  • Matt Lucas and Alfie Boe were awesome. What a revelation!!!!!

  • Casting Nick as Marius is an insult to all the great Marius's out there. He was weak. They sold out by casting the role with a "name" and not for the talent. Some of the songs he had to sing, the actor needed a strong voice, whe he does not have. Matt Lucas was fantastic. My first thought was "another "name" gets the part, but I loved him in the role. Samanta Banks was great and I laugh at all the people saying "Lea Salonga was a better Eponine", what do you want her to do, play BOTH roles?

  • @margaretdb Nick didn't have the legato technique. But he was ok... not great though :(

  • Loved every minute of it. Alfie Boe was extraordinary! Left me speechless.

  • Alfie Boe surprised my by his stunning performance. I love Norm Lewis and Lea Salonga too. I agree with everyone for Nick Jonas. I know that he is still young, but I don't see why he was casted when there are other more talented or suitable Mariuses. Camilla Kerslake is amazing vocally, but she somehow made Cosette seem like an uncaring and demanding bitch...

  • I was at the matinee performance and Alfie Boe stunned us with his superb vocal performance - the weakest vocals of all was Nick Jonas (who should never have been picked as Marius).

  • Norm Lewis was absolutely awesome as Javert

  • alfie boe was just awesome

when he got that standing ovation and u could see he almost broke up...wow

  • LOL matt lucas: i really wanted to play cosette.

  • THEY BROUGHT BACK JENNY GALLOWAY AS THE THENDARDIESS?? YESSSS!

  • Comment removed

  • oh, and Camilla wasn't there.

  • Long story short, everything rocket except Nick Jonas *facepalm*

  • Nick Jonas should be hanging his head in shame after hearing Michael Ball sing how Marious should sound. The 25th Ann concert was brillliant & he was the wink link.....

  • @gilldeacon A little harsh - yes, indeed, he WAS the only weak link in that concert ( I was there, and VERY disappointed at him being cast in a role that he so obviously does not yet have the ability to sing as well as it should be sung, or, indeed, portray with sufficient passion, but one can only suppose he will grow as a performer. Personally the evening was rescued for me by the appearance of Michael Ball, giving justice to the songs. But an amazing and stupendous concert - blew me away!

  • Joe Jonas should be hanging his head in shame after hearing Michael Ball sing how Marious should sound. The 25th Ann concert was brillliant & he was the wink link.....

  • Les Miserable is probably only amazing when it has an amazing cast that can live up to it's name. It's probably one of the most demanding performances for a singer to perform in as a musical production. Nick Jonas wasn't terrible...but he just didn't live up to the expectations that Les Mis demands from it's performers...

  • I heard Nick Jonas doing Marius yesterday and I agree with everybody who says it was a poor performance. At least he was consistent in not getting the higher notes. Maybe, his pain job was to be on stage and be Nick Jonas, but it's a pity, anyway, the musical doesn't deserve such a biased casting.

  • I watched it in the cinema it was amazing..:D

  • Oh dear - I feel really sorry for Nick Jonas - totally miscast and very poor.

  • Sorry, there is no point defending Nick Jonas. He was simply out of his depth

  • @sarnian59 I agree, but you have to take in to account he was 18 and had been singing pop for the past 4 years. I think he has a lot of potential if he gets more training

  • @bwaystar123 yes thats a fair point but for this particular concert it should in my opinion have been a more seasoned performer. However if you look at the hits on you tube he is obviously popular with his ausience.

  • @sarnian59

So true, he was the weak point of the show and this was made even more evident by the outstanding performances of many others. Colette too was miscast to match the rest.

  • @sarnian59 I just saw the 25th Anniv. concert last night at a local theater and agree that Nick Jonas was indeed the weak link. I felt he had the emotion but lacked the voice. The show was wonderful, as usual, as I have seen in 3 countries at least 17 times. I have to have my Les Miz fix every so often. What really got me though was seeing Colm Wilkinson and the 1985 cast at the end. They (and he in particular) were wonderful and there wasn't a dry eye in the theatre. Long live Les Miz!

  • Omg, I'm pleasantly surprised by Nick xD

  • I LOVED the 25th at the O2. Colm Wilkinson & Alfie Boe "Bring Him Home" brought me to tears! Nick Jonas, I felt his voice softer, appeared weaker...AT FIRST...then I realized that the part of Marius is a "gentler" young man than Enjolras & his songs show "the softer side of life" to him, he did a terrific job! He portrayed his character with sincere emotions, focusing his attention on his singing mates like you were watching the play! Bravo to Nick and to the entire wonderful cast!

  • It was a fabulous night and Alfie Boe was awesome, as was Ramin. Have to agree with the consensus on Nick Jonas though ... his voice was weak and projected no emotion... very questionable casting!

  • @gilly1910 I totally agree but a lot of the young ignorant fans of his don't sadly. They sadly don't know what real talent is! I and many others think Nick did a terrible job with a voice that is just not mature and strong enough and that he has no talent or acting skills what so ever. Gareth Gates from the tour who was brilliant could of played the role at the concert, I don't know what Cameron Mackintosh was thinking about. He was very wrong indeed to cast Nick Jonas as Marius. VERY WRONG!

  • I thought Nick did a great job as Marius! He sounds alot different than his pop voice! I also thought that Alfie Boe was amazing as Valjean! I cried when he sang "Bring Him Home". Lea Salonga was an amazing Eponine in the 10th anniversary but she was really good as Fantine! Samantha Braks is an amazing Eponine and deserves her place in the West End! I'm sad that Camilla was sick last night though!

  • I was there and it was fantastic!!

  • wow. just wow. i saw this at my local cinema last night, we were crying in our seats! amazing at the end when the original london cast came on (MICHAEL BALL!!!) and sung, michael ball did drown out nick jonas though, his voice just wasnt srtong enough, but as he's 17 and michael ball isnt he did pretty well :) x

  • I watched this last night in the cinema and witnessed something I never thought I would ever see!! Colm Wilkinson, Alfie Boe, John Owen Jones and Simon Bowman all singing Bring Him Home I have never seen as much talent on one stage!! Samantha Barks has totally earned her place on the west end what a voice!!

  • How can you say you were disappointed! I was there at the 02 it was one of a kind! It wasnt the musical it was advertised as a CONCERT!!!!

  • Having just been to see this, while I do agree Nick Jonas is no Michael Ball, considering he's much younger then Michael was at the 10th anniversary (33 vs 17) and so I do think he did pretty damn well. I now have a VERY grudging respect for him.

i also thought the girl who actually ended up playing Cosette, Katie Hall, was much better then the 10th anniversary Cosette, albeit with giant teeth :P

  • I have just come back from the Odeon! Amazing!! Nick sorry not strong enough :-( Michael still my Marius but Alfie wow wow and wow!! Philip Quast better Javaire too

But the company and the girls were class

    Amazing - x

  • Saw it today. Have to say the 10th was better. It's probably a lot to do with the singer they cast as Marius. He couldn't really pull off the songs. He was really out of his depth, compared to the other singers. I also preferred the older Valjean, but the new guy was still brilliant. The new Enjolras and Cosette were pretty good as well.

I loved that they redid One Day More at the end with the 10th anniversary cast. I was really hoping they would.

  • @pyrocubed I really want to see this when it comes to Australian cinemas, but there's something I want to know and I can't seem to find the info anywhere...

Please, can you tell me - was this a real performance of the show, with sets and costumes and people moving around the stage.... or was it just people standing up in front of a microphone, like with the 10th Anniversary. I enjoyed the 10th Anniversary Concert for what it was, but part of me was diappointed I wasn't seeing a proper staging

  • @insearchofrevenge I watched it live at our local cinema, but it was pretty much like the 10th anniversary concert. There was only a slight difference with the songs, but there was no set and although the actors were in costume, they were not really acting, just singing.

I was also disappointed. I was led to believe it was the full musical when my friends bought the tickets. I guess I'll have to travel to London to see that.

  • just back from the cinema viewing ...it was FANTASTIC !!!

Valjean & Enjolras were the best!

The whole show was brilliant . Thankyou so much !!

  • I have just got back from the concert - I'm sorry, but Nick Jonas has a decent voice but no power and no emotion. He was sadly drowned out during One Day More :o(

We were lucky enough to see the original cast come together and sing at the end, when Michael Ball sang the part in the same song. Simply stunning. I'm sorry Nick fans, he's not bad, just doesn't really have the kind of voice for this kind of role.

Oh and Colm Wilkinson. You are a legend. There is no Jean Valjean like you. Respect.

  • I wish i was there tonight :(

  • Nick Jonas is a twat!

  • They are screening the O2 show in cinemas around the UK live on Sunday night, so I'm going to one of those!! Should be good! Looking forward to seeing Alfie Boe as Valjean and Ramin Karimloo as Enjoras.

  • I really wish I could see this =(

  • Yes! Lea Salonga as Fantine. Woot!!!!

  • i AM SEEING THIS ON THE 3RD OF OCTOBER 2010!! AT THE O2!!!!!!!! OMG

  • just a few more days!!!! the Dream Cast during the 10th anniversary is really really superb! but I'm also looking forward to this 25th anniversary cast.

  • I haven't heard Matt lucas but all the other cast are amazing. Can't wait

  • I'm going to watch the O2 concert!! XD

  • lea salonga is soo pretty :) love her in the 10th anniversary concert as eponine xx btw who's playing eponine??

  • Can't wait to see this.

Only problem is, is that i've seen the Dvd so many times I wont be used to hearing the younger people play the big parts. It'll be tough for them to top the 10th anniversary!

  • you should come to Chile :( i like the music and everything, i really want to see Les Miserables, you're great, great voices and everything :) try to come to Chile please !

  • It makes me so mad that half the comments on this video are about Nick Jonas. It's extremely frustrating when a famous person is cast in a role and cannot handle the part. I think Nick has a fine voice for pop, but on Broadway he is lackluster and is outsung by his female counterparts. I will probably get a lot of hate for this, but I think they should have given the part to a Broadway Performer and not a famous pop star.

  • @caitlin142 Really now? have you heard him? He was AMAZING. Beyond expectations... he's not being outsung..

  • @TheJonasEmpire Your username shows you bias. I heard him. He does not have the upper range for Marius and was usually flat to Cosette

  • @caitlin142 My username does not mean I am baised. I love the Jonas Brothers yes but I hated their song "POISON IVY" I didn't see the point of it. I still love and support them though.. I am a Jonas Fan but I don't think Kevin is VERY AWESOME in singing. He has a good voice but it's not as good as Joe or Nick. I am a Jonas Fan but I didn't enjoy Nick's song "In The End" I may be a Jonas Fan but I am not biased. I heard him sing in Les Mis and I think he did well. He wasn't outsung :)

  • @TheJonasEmpire My friend, I think you're being biased just because you "HATE" Nick Jonas and you can't accept the fact that he's playing Marius just because he's a "JONAS" which I am pretty sure you think "LAME". You see my friend? You're the one who's being biased here. Not me nor is anyone else who's saying he's great. There are a lot of people who hates the Jo Bros but agrees that Nick's pretty good in Les Mis. Good Day My Friend :)

  • @TheJonasEmpire I like the Jonas Brothers. I like Nicks voice. I don't think he is "lame". But I certainly do not think he has the voice for the part and most other people who have knowledge of the show and the voice type that is required of musical theater roles agree with me.

  • Comment removed

  • @caitlin142 Wow. How can you be so sure I am not knowledgable about Les Mis? I've got the 10th anniversary concert DVD and watched it a MILLION TIMES. I am aware of what kind of voices that are required and I know he's NO Michael Ball but he's making his own name. And speak for yourself. NOT MOST people are saying he's doing bad. I've read comments and a lot of people are mentioning that they don't like JB but Nick's got the talent.. Now if you're saying MOST people think he can't make it..

  • @TheJonasEmpire I assumed that you didn't have knowledge of the show and gave you the benefit of the doubt because people I know in real life who are pursuing degrees in music think he does not sound good. I never said he didn't have talent. I think if anything it is unfortunate that they gave him the role when he is so young and his voice has not yet fully developed. It takes years of training to be able to sing at a Broadway level and though Nick is talented, he sounds amateur.

  • @caitlin142 So technically, you assume things without knowing facts and you doubt people who think he's good. Wow. My aunt, who hates the Jonas Brothers to death and who's actually teaching MUSIC said that Nick has a good Tenor voice. She mentioned that Nick needs improvements on some areas but in general he was surprising and really good. Now if the friends you know who are "pursuing degrees in music" says otherwise, I dont' really care. But speak for yourself.

  • @TheJonasEmpire I am speaking for myself. But you continually are telling me he's good. I'm sorry. I think he is mediocre. I know other people who think he is mediocre. Other people on the internet think he is mediocre. I only brought up other things besides my opinion because you would not except that I think he's just not up to par. It's great that you and your music teacher aunt liked it, I was simply saying that every single person I have discussed this with hasn't liked him in the role.

  • @caitlin142 then I don't know what MOST means :)

  • Eponine has grown into Fantine. LOVE LEA SALONGA!!!!!! :)))))))))

  • @ErinLovegood That is actually the best thing I've heard all day.

  • Is there going to be a dvd for this concert because it seems very interesting.

  • i have no clue what this is. i am only watching this video because of NICK JONAS. Who else is?

  • @looloochoochoo

Nick Jonas in Les Miserables is such an oxymoron. We don't expect you to like this kind of music, but you should listen to the entire performance without Nick Jonas so you can hear how it is supposed to be done. I highly recommend you listen to the 10th anniversary as a start.

  • @itinkle dudee i only wanna see nick i cud give a shit about the rest of the play.

  • @itinkle Dude.. I like Les Mis but it looks like you're trying to say that nick didn't sing it right...

  • @looloochoochoo Shame on you. Les Miserables is the longest running musical, and if not the best, one of the best out there.

  • @Monkeyballmania i heard it sucks asssssss. but im still seeing it for nick.

  • @looloochoochoo Oh come on now? It doesn't suck and I DON'T believe that you "HEARD" it... cause everyone actually loves it:) if they don't love it, they still don't hate it..

  • @TheJonasEmpire dude no joke my mom asked around an everyone one said les miserables was a waste of money.

  • @looloochoochoo That's pretty mean considering the story is really beautiful. Watch the 10th anniversary now and you'll see it's beauitful :)

  • @mykidshateitwhen I believe it only is third here in the states. In the world scene its still the longest running (thank God!)

  • I just wanted to clear something up regarding the description, Les Miserables is NOT the longest running show of all time (even though we all know it deserves to be, it should have NEVER left Broadway). It comes in third to Phantom of the Opera and Cats.

  • @mykidshateitwhen I think it avtually is now!

  • @mykidshateitwhen There is more to the world than Broadway, you know.

  • Well, I just love how Nick plays and sings in Les Mis. ♥

  • Ramin is playing Enjolras.

  • Will it hurt so much to give a little respect to the boy? You haven't heard him sing. Critique after you hear him in the concert. Don't tell me that you've heard the youtube videos and you think it sucks because those videos are not high quality. Give him a shot. Don't close your minds on him being a DISNEY-BOY because this is VERY far from Disney and he knows he has to step up beyond limits. You're closing your minds on the fact that he's a Jonas. The boy's got talent. Better than his brothers!

  • @TheJonasEmpire All I am trying to say is, don't close your mind on him not being able to step up to the plate just because he's from Disney and he's a Jonas. If you would just listen to him without recognizing him as someone from Disney and part of the Jonas family, then you'll see that the boy's got talent. Give him a chance to show what he's got then after that, amuse yourself by criticizing him all you want. BUT PLEASE GIVE HIM A CHANCE!

  • @TheJonasEmpire How many times do you have to read that people have indeed seen him and were entirely unimpressed, heard no signing that convinced them, didn't see any acting in terms of character portrayal and could clearly tell he was untrained? People are not judging him because of Disney or the Jonas family or anything. We have a lot of respect for him, but this is not part of his talent, he is not a good theatre performer and not trained to sing like this.

  • @LegsandJump What I am trying to say is that you should be waiting for the O2 concert. Cause that's what's important. Maybe those 3 weeks in Les Mis was just his training. You wouldn't know what Cameron Macintosh is doing all along. Wait for it and then judge. And MOST people are judging him because he's from Disney. Speak for yourself sir/maam. If you aren't judging cause he's from Disney and he's a jonas, then you have my respect. But speak for yourself ! :)

  • @TheJonasEmpire Right, because the concert isn't about singing and acting with your voice at all, is it? And we don't need to look at him as a Jonas or a Disney star. If he's in Les Mis, then he's a performer like all the others, and a weak one at that. We don't need to find excuses to hear he's short of breath and see he doesn't act convincingly. It's saddening to see he has only gotten this because he is a Jonas and from Disney, by the way. That's a difference.

  • @LegsandJump It is about singing. Din't you even understand what i was saying? I was telling people to give him a chance. And just you stating the fact that he got in because he's a Jonas is already judging him because he's from Disney and is a Jonas. AND NO it's not different. You just don't get it do you? How many times do i have to say that all i wanted to do was to tell people to give him a chance at the O2 before criticizing. And I never even directed this message to anyone! Affected much?

  • @TheJonasEmpire Of course it's about singing, that's what I was saying. And: No. There is a difference between deciding that he's not up to it because he's a Nick Jonas, and realising he only got the part because he's Nick Jonas when you see and hear him, as he's obviously not up to it. A very clear difference, too.

  • @LegsandJump Well if that's your opinion, then speak for yourself. I think he's able to step up to the plate and I think he's really doing good. Of course he's no Michael Ball but he's not bad at all. :) Stick to your opinion and speak for yourself. Stop saying THEY, WE or whatever! :)

  • There is no such sing as singing with a "Broadway voice".

Oh the irony to have Thaxton and Brammer singing the big "One Day More" part in here, one who should very well have been in a modern "Dream Cast" concert, and one who had to give up his role for over a month for Nick Jonas.

No one expected him to sound like Michael Ball. But as it's a concert, some vocal strength and acting would be required. And he doesn't have that. I feel sorry for him, he's 17 and not trained to do this. Commercialsm.

  • GO LEA!!! and wasent norm in legally brown the seach for the next piragua guy on the intheheights channel maybe im thinging of someone else and was nick jonas reading form a teleprompter he sounded bored and it was just flat

  • Does anybody know if this will come out on DVD?

  • @TheValeriaB out on DVD 22nd november, its available on play and amazon for pre order already

  • ...a black Javert

  • @sausageyman Yup... nice voice but sooooo out of historical context

  • I actually saw him in June and he did a pretty good job. I am not a Jonas Brother fan at all so I was horrified when I found out he was playing Marius (I love Les Mis!). But he did surprisingly well, his acting needs a little work but his voice was great. He does sound a lot better live though.

  • LEA!!! <3333

  • In October they will do the "Concert Version" for the 25th Anniversary. The hall will be maybe five times the size of a theatre. In normal theatre you bring into play "stagecraft" --- different sound, lighting, moving of sets, et al. In concert versions you concentrate more on the singing. In a sense they honor "Les Miserables" as the star and the singers are known as an ensemble. Many times some of the original stars will return to add their voices to the ensemble.

  • @Concorde1957 will there be a DVD of this CONCERT VERSION ? and SOUNDTRACk of the CONCERT VERSION?

  • hahahaha Matt Lewis 'I really wanted to play Cosette.'

  • The cast is perfect, especially when you have Norm, Jenny, and Lea, but... Nick Jonas? I'm okay with Camilla Kerslake (she has a pretty voice) and with Samantha (even though I prefer Nancy Sullivan), but Nick Jonas won't do it for me. He surprised me quite a lot but compared to Michael Ball or even with David Bryant, he doesn't have what it takes for the role.

I hope they put David Thaxton as Enjolras. He's amazing.
