  • i don't often get goosebumps but when i do....

  • "and I know what it's like to lose someone you love"

  • Boom, great

  • watching this video now after Portnoy's departure makes me cry...

  • Alguien sabría decirme como se podría conseguir la camiseta que Portnoy lleva puesta en este concierto?

  • What is the name of gospel singer?

    --

Qual é o nome da cantora gospel?

    --

¿Cuál es el nombre del cantante de gospel?

  • @XDUrso I'm pretty sure that she is Theresa Thomason

XD

  • This song... the ending guitar solo played by Petrucci is wonderful and very memorable..

  • Who plays the drums in this one? O.o

  • @guitaralafreak Ritchie Blackmore

  • please come to Jakarta soon!!

  • ღრმად გენიალურია!!!

  • Petrucci ρε!

  • most beautiful shredding ever

  • lonely guitar, melancholy drums, weeping bass, soft keys, sad vocals.

good song for one of those days :)

  • David Gilmour will be very proud of him!

  • toda vez q escuto essa musica eu choro!!!

  • people dislike the video because jp killed someone they knew when he shredded their face off playing that intro

  • :(

  • cry cry cry

  • The optimal amount of muscles was the key of a good DT album at the time.

  • JP is shredding your face apart 5 billions notes per second

  • I'm learning all about my life, by looking through her eyes <3

  • ı love dt!

  • beautiful piece of dt music.

  • 6:07 I'll miss Mike Portnoy's naturalness, he just do a chord with his hand he's funny xD

  • I´m Learning all about my life, By looking through her eyes

  • New progressive rock band, type ''innerspace'' band on facebook

  • this intro it's just so beautiful!!!!!♥

  • I dont know what everyone is talking about. I love the intro, vocals, and guitar solo in the beginning! I like this live version more than I do the album version. This makes the album version look gay, and I don't like the intro because of race. I'm not even black, but she has a beautiful voice. People that hate the intro are racists against guitarists!

  • this song remembers me my ex boyfriend :(( i miss him, fuck the distance.

  • easy john..easy!!!! this is REAL music.... I agree 100%

  • I love this song, but that three-minute intro was out of place, and sort of ruined it.

  • @RollTheFemers "You cannot be serious!"

I definitely think the intro is the best part of this song.

Well Petrucci get's a bit out of hand for a few seconds, bu...

  • @BrainSane237 He does. Like it's impressive to say the least but it kind of ruins the mood and atmosphere in the intro of the song.

  • I <3 Petrucci :3

  • Well, might as well get some new pants ready......

  • Thumbs up if you find this song touching!

  • This song makes me cry every single time! Beautiful!

  • this music my friends, even cant be made in next 50 years.

  • Nap time for MP, love this song.

  • 41 morons that think bon jovi is the best band ever

  • @1963jlm jajajajajajajaj

  • Everybody talks about Petrucci, but listen to Myung too...brilliant bass line...i love it

  • damn she can sing:..

  • Cry guitar, cry...

  • John is ORGASMIC!

  • the dislikes are comming from wasted Lady Gaga youth or techno listeners :)

    Love this!

  • thanks !

  • @broes1966 Theresa Thomason

  • Unbelievable beautiful piece of music.

What's the name of the lady who sings so beautiful ?

  • i just dont get it.how could they disliked such a godly performance.i pause my porn mannn because of this video haha

  • I am actually crying right now. dont think thats happened before.

  • @rivennig92 it's ok. these guys are famous for evoking emotion. Listen to "An evening with John Petrucci and Jordan Rudess" Several songs that will hit a nerve in that performance.

  • I am actually crying right now. dont think thats happened before.

  • so much emotion just pouring out. beautiful...

  • queen latifa

    huhu!

    hehehe!

  • This, my friends, is music.

  • @MrMrchak It´s More that Music!

  • nunca vi uma banda com musicos tão feras assim

  • This is a true musician in his purest form. Dream Theater is a pure example of a true group of extremely talented virtuosos at their instruments and a master vocalist. John Petrucci is a prime example of a wonderfully talented guitar player that never ceases to amaze me with his emotional guitar playing, and talented guitar playing above all. I am a guitarist and have been for 13 years. and had lost insperation to play for a little over a year, and then I discovered Dream Theater and I keep goin

  • A true musician can feel the shear emotion coming out of John in this intro. A musicaly retarded moron only hears a bunch of fast notes!!

  • all dream theater member are my idol yeah!!

  • 2:55 does she scream "JOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOHHHHHNNNNNNNNNNN!! JOOOOOHOOOOOOOHOOOOOOHHNNNNN!" ??

  • I didn't like Petrucci's solo at the beggining. To fast for the song :S

  • @puchibul i think it fits oddly well behind those vocals... weird

  • 40 people are yngwie

  • CAPOLAVORO! <3

  • this song is nice, i wish i could play the guitar like that and the singer has a nice voice......................i felt as though the song was dedicated to me!.

  • this song is amazing, almost makes me wanna cry... and kick 40 butts that dislike this song...

  • I saw the whole of this album performed live at Nottingham Rock City in April 2000. Amazing light show in the night sky on the way home. It was April 6. 2000 years since Christ's birth! Great night.

  • a fretless bass eh? sounds awesome

  • "Theresa Thompson folks on vocals"

  • :'(

  • really class, only pink floyd can compare

  • HE IS GOD!

  • I am speechless!!!!!!!!

  • héhe_ÀÑY_gùYs_wãñt_tõ_chat_wÌth_mè

  • @SesaoJesusaia597 shut up bot!

  • The Pink Floyd influence really leaks out, eh?

    DEFINITELY not a bad thing.

  • love!

  • <3

  • AMAZING, UNBELIEVABLE, INCRDIBLE, FANTASTIC BAND OF LAST 20 YEARS!!

  • Pertucci and Portony suck at singing live...

    All over that gig :P

  • I'm going to cry.......

  • This make me believe that portnoy will be back on DT someday.... someday

  • A fabulous song.. that many will never know.... great to be rock fans!!!!!!

  • I'm learning all about my life

    By looking through her eyes

  • "i love the way they're talking to each other" ..no words necessarily :)...

  • só quem gosta mesmo de musica é que pode apreciar esta grande banda!!!

  • Sounds kinda Jeff Beckish

  • SENZA PAROLE

  • Sire Labrie will always be a great singer. Period.

Make yourself a favor a learn about the path he went through.

    AlBiss

P.S. We are all waiting to hear the way you sing.

  • so sentimental

  • annalena?? even if i lost you... i just wanna make clear that u realize .. u was the love of my life... u was my life.. now i lost you forever... but my love for you will never ends .. i love u and i miss you... that was our song..,. everytime i listen to it.. it reminds me of the time we had togheter... i rly feel bad ....

  • This was when LaBrie was a good singer...

  • Sometimes i think Petrucci plays with a sustainer :O !

  • I'm in love with that fretless 6-string JMX plays. Listen to that thing weep!!

  • who's the singer ?

  • all that guitar pickin' over her voice... not good. It doesn't go with the mood of the song. He's a great guitar player but he should know by now when to slow down or simply don't do anything. This is a David Gilmour's style kind of tune. My humble opinion.

  • @Intrepid1982 well maybe he likes to show off personally i think it syncs up well.

  • he is true musician

  • 38 mainstream people XD

  • Best live song ever.

  • Holy shit John, slow down!!

  • @skifarterufa

i believe that's impossible, this is as slow as he can go.

  • @skifarterufa, that's what I thought if just about all Petrucci's stuff around this era, was starting to play too fast too often (and sound like Yngwie)

  • the bass sounds godly in this..

  • the high point of this concert!

  • WTF? -37? DIE PUTOSSSSS!

  • DE ARREPIAR os 3 primeiros minutos :)

Chilling the first 3 minutes :)

  • Fantastico!!!!! Espetacular!!!! Chorei até...

  • fuck 36...! >:)

  • não acredito q Portnoy saiu :~~~~~~~

  • @ridombobi bored watching petrucci, shit you must be one arrogant computer generated woman!

  • @trivrock2k6 amen

  • I'd like to know who are the 35 shits who voted "dislike"...

It's only crazy how DT can be genial !!!

  • @medomedo93 people are entitled to their own opinion. If they simply are not touched by heavenly music, then I guess it's just a loss for them ;D

  • People who doubt Labrie's place in DT must see this video

  • ops.. only in the cd version you can hear the part where Labrie speak

  • what did james say before the song start????

  • this is awesome,

I've never heard a song who's more beautiful than this one.

  • For a prog metal guitarist and gospel voice to work so flawlessly together requires some serious fucking musical ability.

  • Man, as a come back to listen with this song after 7-8 long years, I felt a new appreciation with it. First time I heard this, my inclination is just a normal ballad tune. But once you come back listening to it after quite a while, you begin to feel the emotional aspect of this piece. Amazing!

  • ah be peto ah ulan

  • 34 dislikes??? wtf!! this live here is excellent! go DT!! i hope MP would come back.

  • @janjan123456 he will, just wait.

  • Who plays the drums at 6:10 o_o HOW MUCH POWEFULL IS PORTNOY!!!!

  • @educabeiras believe it or not, That's a DRUM MACHINE. Now that may seem like Blasphemy to you, but hey, Phil Collins of Genesis loved the Drum Machine. Gave him a chance to sing up front.

  • Light years ahead of their musical peers. If people appreciated talent instead of corporate hype, they'de be stinking rich.

  • 0:01 to 1:30 - very much influence from Pink Floyd and Dire Straits right there.

Both of the above bands are amazing. DT is amazing. Their music will never die. End of story.

  • @hjnd2396 thats so funny because me and my dad were listening to this for the first time and i said the same thing!

  • can anyone tell me how petrucci does the technique @ 4:52 ....the one that sounds like a feedback. is it the guitar effects or the pick ups?? or is it divine powers??

  • @janjan123456 I'm not 100% sure but he might have used an Octave pedal effect.

  • @janjan123456 It Is feedback, he put in a concrete place so the feedback is so much intense and fast :D

  • haha, at 3:07 its just kinda like "oh, thats what song it is"

  • personally, i find the soloing misplaced, too much shred for this song. even though it is mighty impressive.

  • @Westeraria I feel that way about the intro solo yeah.. But the outro solo is just amazing

  • Very Amazing

  • Anyone seen 'History of Trunks' with this song in it? It was the perfect song choice for the ending. So sad :(

  • så blir det fanme ikk meget bedere!!!!!!! \m/

  • Beautiful

  • 0:38 - 3:22 Petrucci's "Betcha Can't Play This"....

  • @eimaiokalyteros The most emotive of all of them :D

  • Cry guitar, cry...

  • @looneYeah Yep through his guitar. Because he can. For those who can't , well they just do it with what they have.

  • man i liked this kind of Dream Theater! when it was not ripping of Metallica, Muse, Pantera, Opeth but creative music that was similar only to itself! this song is threateningly great

  • petrucci whackin off

  • Sounds like David Gilmour, but a little faster

  • @PlatiniumEnd Well, Davey Gill was one of the best guitarist of all time, as well as a forerunner of Prog. Guess to his inspiration?

  • I love this music....I am new to Dream Theater. Which Dream Theater CD should I buy 1st. Thanks, let me know!

  • @eatfreaky all the albums are really good and have their own style but buy the greatest hit or train of thought

  • @eatfreaky There isnt really a dream theater album to suggest, each one has its own style, each one is like a journey haha. I advise the Greatest hits compilation... even though it doesnt have the epic really long dream theater songs on it, its a really good selection of songs :)

  • @eatfreaky The best Dream Theater album to listen to is all of them :D

  • I think that there was too much shredding in the beginning, but at the end when the snare drum came in Petrucci really nailed it. Qutie simply beautiful.

  • so sweet kick ass tune.

  • calm down petrucci..stop picking so much!shit!

  • how can you dislike this?
