My garge door will sometimes open halfway and then I have to close it and open it again and just keep repeating that untill it opens all the way. Any ideas?
@McCabe2729 It sounds like your springs are fatigued... I would disengage the door from the opener by pulling the emergency release cord. Then open and close the door manually to see if it slides down on it's own or feels overly heavy. I have a video posted on "how to check the balance of your garage door" which will show you step by step.
When the door is heavy because the springs are fatigued the door can be heavy enough to exceed the "force limits" of the opener. does this help?
When I turn my garage door opener on it moves down and up in about 2 feet of space.
