  • That's fruit abuse!

  • It is in water because I see on the top left corner it's bubbling and so it might be in boiled water or sumthin

  • it looks like its in water lmao

  • what if someone's nipple looked like that?

  • What has science done?!

  • umm.. cool? i want to levitate like that! and eat a levitating strawberry at the same time!

  • FUTURE NEWS>>> in other news people will be eating levitating strawberries

  • @regaritz well I am not sure if someone told you, that was a joke. Also I hate you.

  • Hey Apple!

    I mean... Hey Strawberry!

  • Poor strawberry looks scared.

  • strawberry: WTF is happenning?!??!?!?!

  • Everything can levitate except for me =(

  • So basicly, theoretically, a strong enaugh magnetic field could levitate a human?

  • @csguy12

theoretically, yes. using magnetism to levitate things work especially well on water-containing objects/organisms, or so I've heard

  • There's a lot of floating bingwads here.

  • What are these strawberrys doing levitating I need them for the furit salad.

  • In Soviet Russia, Tesla Coils Float You!

  • Now where'd I put the floating cream?

  • about 10,000,000

  • would'ent the camera be ruined by the magnetic field

  • Can we get the Tesla count on this magnet?

  • @jetaimemina About 10 T. Might not sound like a lot but to put it in perspective the Earth's magnetic field is only 5x10^-5 T, or 0.00005 T.

  • Did you stuff it with iron or does it actually have enough iron to be effected by the electromagnetic field????

  • @MatteRyd It is the water content of the strawberry. Water, being a diamagnetic substance, is repelled by a magnetic field.

  • @poikilotherm1 can you make a water baloon levitate then? o.O?

that would be easy then, and really cool :D

  • very bad usage of camera angle. There's no point of reference, you can't really tell if the strawberry is levitating or not ... (but I'll take your word for it ...)

OTOH, do this magnetic field change the molecular structure of the levitated object in anyway ? Any research done regarding these ?

  • @jarjar2b yea there is research on this. water is a type of magnet its a digimagnet which in strong electromagnetic fields will take on the propertys of the electromagnet thus causing the water to repel since all living things are made of water like this strawberry or frogs or even humans we will levitate. if your into this kinda thing i would read michio kakus book physics of the impossible which is why i watched this vid in the first place and is how i know all of that.

  • i bet its in water. O.O

  • That wouls make a great screen saver!

  • @lovenamese LOL YA!

  • i dare u to eat it XD

  • no this really works... it is just magnetism in a molecular base...

  • your over thinking, water which the strawberry contrains is diamagnetic, so you just need some powerful magnets you can get on the market to make it float, or "levitate"

  • yeah i realized that i was wrong after i posted it. your answer is right, actually me and my friend was watching this vid and he told me about the earths magnetic field but he is wrong.

  • A floating strawberry!?!?

  • just an opinion, all these videos look like the object is floating in water....

  • To an extent, it does look similar to floating in water. But if you want to test that theory, you can drop a fresh strawberry in water and see what happens. What you'll find is that strawberries float sideways. If someone put a strawberry in water and filmed it from a side angle to try to reproduce this, you would see the water line.

  • unless, there is a weight on the bottom.

  • You would still see the water line if it was weighted somehow, and that would contradict the other videos besides. Really, you should just look into diamagnetism to satisfy your doubt instead of proposing disingenuous tricks they could have pulled to simulate it.

  • boredkidz, I thought you were genuinely interested in these videos but were skeptical about them, and so would be open to learning something if you were wrong. Being rude and sarcastic toward me just tells me that I was mistaken in thinking such good things about you. I will remind you that you're replying to a video demonstrating diamagnetic levitation in action -- if you don't want to hear about about that, you probably shouldn't argue with someone in the comments about it.

  • Dude calm down i was just kiddin with you. sorry if it came off wrong. and i am actually pretty interested.

  • nope, it's real

  • wow noob, fail. Its a very strong magnet, causing the individual atoms to allign north south

    Diamagnetic levitation, look it up

  • Everyone should believe her, her countless videos on correct makeup application imply a strong scientific background.

  • that is real retards that say its not fags

  • you ignorant moron... you are clearly as stupid as those ignorant idiots who call this 'fake' if you think someone's intelligence is based on their sexuality

  • Its real

  • No actually, there are huge magnets on each side and they do something to the electrons in the atoms in the strawberry and the force is changed to opposit of the magnets.

  • its no fake its real. i saw this on galileo with a frog.

  • lol it's not fake, go back to scholl and learn physics a little please ;)

  • ignorant!

  • Not fake - you can find the same video on the High Field Magnet Laboratory website.

  • Bet that cost a "grip" to levitate that with super magnet -electrical- current :)

  • make it bigger, and that would make an AWESOME carnival ride

  • Lol, yeh. I'd never get off it!

  • Dude, people would lose their homes to that! lol

  • @Xxero0 if would be an epic carnival ride! rofl-cakes to you!

  • Mmm, delicious. I bet levitating strawberries taste better than regular ones.

  • this is not a fake... the magneti field in there is huge

  • Funny how a lot of people here seem to be convinced it's real just because it's actually possible. This video can still be fake. Were you all there when the experiment occured? Why insulting people who think it's fake? I didn't read the word "impossible" in any message. They said "fake". Not the same thing at all. Those who think that everybody who says it's fake is an asshole that should use a physic book should go read a book about computer graphics because this video still looks fake

  • experiments of this kind WERE conducted.Anyone that says this is fake is an just poorly informed(or an idiot), as they refer to the theoretical aspect of the process. This particular video could be fake, (it is possible) but,by the looks of it,very improbable

  • Still this video could be fake and in my knowledge of how it would look, as a graphic designer, I still believe that this specific strawberry is not levitating.

  • but I still may be wrong

  • actually its possible....how much water does the strawberry have? its just like the levitating frog....a frog is similar to a human...(water percentage) and it is possible to levitate water.....look at how the moons pull moves the ocean and creates waves....now imagine if we earth was closer to the moon....there r many possibilities

  • the moon pulls the ocean with gravity

  • @1Jedthered In soviet Russia, oceans pull moon!

  • @sylversphere hey nice one ! : >

  • @sylversphere Someone may have said this already, but the oceans are in fact pulling on the moon just as strongly as the moon is pulling on them.

  • @sylversphere technically, they pull each other, your joke failed.

  • @ReverseDFatE lol my stupid joke got some thumbs! Well the oceans pull moon with the same force as the moon pulls the ocean so I guess ;) Thanks for the correction. TOP COMMENT OR GTFO!!! lol

  • @1Jedthered cool

  • that must be an accoustic field. not a magnetic one

  • no it is a big magnet

  • must be a pratty strong magnetic field in there

  • SHAME! WRONG!

  • what kinda metal is injected into it?

  • Death Metal

  • no metal, it's an anatomic magnet, that's more super powerful than any ordinary magnet and it's in a solanoid tube s told, it's an experiment and it's true by science. So no metal.

  • lol poor strawberry

  • this is real morons think its fake.

  • light as a strawberry stiff as a strawberry

  • if you think this is fake... you need to pick up a physics book.

  • Then you didn't read it properly.

  • hahaha

  • perhaps your wrong?

  • perhaps indeed sir.

are we going to split hairs here?

  • lol niiiice mmmkay

  • what was that from?

  • no hair splitting. You're wrong locofury, it's not fake.

  • Magnetic boots on!

    Wow!

  • Inertial dampeners!!!! You could have unlimited speed for spaceflight. You wouldn't be crushed trying to reach the speed of light. Gene Roddenberry was not an alien, he was from the future. It's no coincidence that we have a number of ships both naval and spaceships named Enterprise. Star Trek has influenced us to manufacture antimatter of all things and now this. Next step on antimatter will be to build antimatter reactors. If you don't believe we are making antimatter look it up. ty

  • Oh boy... a floating straw berrie...

  • oh come on! Now I'm hungry!!

  • oh my goodness a floating strawberry!

  • Yeah i read about this in the news...they really did do this.

  • explain the bubbles on the strawberry then...

  • ...seeds

  • umm...those are seeds...and strawberries are slightly fuzzy...only a little bit...its the fuzz standing up..due to magnetics...

  • ok ok, I believe you guys, but the fact still remains your spending WAY too much time talking about a floating strawberry.... then again i'm spending just as much time talking about it as well... we need girlfriends or something... *sigh*

  • i rite with you there brother

  • Yeah....come see what my girlfriend did about my Gravity magnet motor.......

  • haha your a moron

  • They've done that with a live frog too. Most things are diamagnetic, the ones that aren't are paramagnets and ferromagnets. Ferromagnets simply put the everyday magnets in a household.

Diamagnetism is the ability to repel magnetic field. It is weak in most materials but very strong in superconductors.

  • Nice

  • umm..no...if you've read what he said, hes using super magnetic fields..

  • explain the bubbles on the strawberry...

  • what is magnetic in water the H? or the O? someone mssg me please

  • The reaction that you see here is diamagnetic, not magnetic. All materials show a diamagnetic response in an applied magnetic field.

  • well what does diamagnetic mean then?

  • Neither. As the oxygen has leftover valence electrons, the hydrogen atoms are repelled by them, bending the molecule and leading to an irregular charge distribution, making the molecule reactive to magnetism (=diamagnetic).

  • that is not correct. Hydrogen atom = proton. protons are attracted to electrons. As for diamagnetism, many things with regular charge distribution are also diamagnetic, for example Nitrogen Gas. From what i know about quantum theory, it is to do with pauli exclusion principle, and fully paired electron pairs. Unpaired = paramagnetic, paired = diamagnetic

  • @jkong000: Hydrogen atoms are actually made up of one electron and one proton. I think what you mean is "Hydrogen nucleus" :)

  • How many tesla is the field?

  • As far as i know its 16!

  • the lack of education makes some ppl think this is fake.

  • Very well put!! Most people who think everything is "Fake", have low mentality.

  • why are people so afraid of this. This is proven science.

  • Water has magnetic properties, so it 'ain't fake.

  • Most people that say "it is fake" have conspiracy issues.

  • but knowledge does

  • ooooo! snap!! nice comeback =D

  • lol thankyou

  • btw, he just rolled u big time!

  • Sorry all the folks out there who are looking to spot fake videos on YouTube. This one is REAL...it's (as the previous comment noted) referred to as diamagnetic levitation. Read up on it.

  • Diamagnetic levitation.... not video editing.

  • Woooow

  • how much is one of those machines?

  • Thats one piece of bad video editing.

  • Bad video editing?

    Thats all real.

  • wtf SICK and TRIPPY KOOOOOOOOL :P:D

  • Awesome - thanks for the sweet vid.
