  • Cool where can i get mellotron flute for my blofeld ... Anyone got any free samples to send me or links would really make my day thanks

  • @parosite They're in there...a couple of patches around F or G banks pretty nice sounding Melly sounding flutes, too.

  • @parosite one other free vst...which I always though was top was "Tapeworm". I used that one before M-Tron Pro came along. You'll find that at: Freemusicsoftware dot "oh r gee". Also, if you have an ipad or iphone check out: Mellotronics M3000 or the Ellatron

  • Walt. I love this song. What a gem. It reminds me of many things and Bowie yes, but mostly your own ND101 style. Mysterious and damn cool.

    Mark

  • @busywave I guess I'm trying to pull in influences from all over the spectrum here Mark. I really didn't go about with any thought of Bowie in mind...it just happened to turn out that way after I gotten in a ways into it. Thanks Mark!

  • could be the ongoing saga of David Bowies SPACE ODDITY ala major Tom ???? loving your story based vocoder songs you're doing recently...really great work

  • @stuckelectric It's funny you should mention that because the story of Major Tom really came into focus as I was writing in the verses, and I was thinking of tagging on at the end...on a fade words to the effect, "can you hear me ground control?" I would have changed this around obviously but it is what i initially had in mind..thanks stuck!

  • Well constructed strophes Walt, with rhymes, metrics and all. A bit reminiscent of Tommy for the chief sentence ("Tommy can you hear me?") and the hurdy-gurdy seeming sound. Very suggestive.

  • @Deisinoful Yes, Gian I do see what you mean...funny I didn't really think of that! subconsciously? maybe? and the hurdy-gurdy sound...it's definitely a derivative of the Mellotronic sound. Thanks Gian!

  • I absolutely love the song but I would like to hear more of the actual vocals and less vocoder in the mix. I dont like to sing either but I think this would sound awesome-r with reverbed whispering of the vocals but over the vocoded sound(vocoder dialed back a bit) kinda like "Riders on the Storm". but I love the organ and flute sound, very 1969!

  • @LatigidGolana I appreciate that...I thought about just singing it without the vocoder, but I thought that it might be a little more "eerie" to try it with the vocoder. I do get what you mean about dialing it back a bit ala "Riders of the Storm". I will definitely keep that in mind...thanks!

  • @LatigidGolana My friend Stuckelectric mentioned David Bowie's "Space Oddity" and I initially was going to tag in at the end words to the effect "can you hear me ground control" on a whispered fade-out...I should have done it! : ?

  • Hi Walt!

I think we're all a little invisible - floating in a helpless void :) Great lyrics and sounds. Very creative. Only YOU my friend **********

    cheers,

    julie

  • @buniluvr Hi Julie, Sunday was really getting to me...had the blues, so I came up with this. lol. I should have tried the blues! : ) Thanks Julie!

  • Nice sounds Walt.Like the robot voice.great lyrics too.

  • @Synthsound1 Thanks Dave...I guess it was worth a try to fit the vocoder into the old tron sound...little different.

  • @NickDrake101 i like your originals.Great ideas and the sounds you use are good together.

  • Nice blend of sounds and styles here Walt. The music has a kind of Strawberry Fields feel to it but it works well with the vocoder. Great lyrics Walt.....I can never get past the first few lines.....four lines is probably my maximum : ?

  • @STEVEL361 I didn't really have Strawberry Fields in mind, but when I played those backup flute lines it does seem to have that "quick tape reversed sound" ebbing through. Actually, I thought about going for shorter lyrics like you have Steve, but then I thought I'd better think out a longer theme...it could have gone the other way I suppose. No, I don't think four lines is your maximum, Steve..they'll be a time! Thanks Steve!

  • @NickDrake101 Okay Walt....at a stretch I might make five lines .....Lol !

  • @STEVEL361 Yes, but it what those five lines say that makes it über cool!
