  • i am assuming that your standard crappie jig would be do-able for this too, right?

  • I use 1/64 ounce hair jigs. I've tried others but, they just seem to work best for me. Everyone has different taste and so do the trout. If you can find brands that have slightly bigger hooks that helps as well.

  • what kind of trout are those

  • their rainbow trout its fairly obvious

  • acually not really, cause those are like silver. the ones i catch are bright pink and blue.

  • well 1,000,000 bucks says its a rainbow.... its just native and stocked rainbows look different .... but like the lakes we have in california ...we have like mostly all rainbows but they look different cause they come different places...u understand...like a russian and german may look different but their both white

  • totally under stand man i believe you that theyere rainbows jst they look diff from what i catch. my lakes are mostly small rainbows and huge browns i just said its not that obvious that they are rainbows

  • damn dude, good girls, fishing, what could be worng

  • dang joe were u get these girls

  • Best model yet Joe by far, and I mean it this time! great show.

  • rangerbass519,

    You always say that. LOL

Thanks for watching the show. More spokesmodels to come. Look for my bass fishing show in about a month on topwater Ohio largemouth.

  • Is that a pay lake? Didn't look like anybody else was catching, perhaps they haven't figured out the "windy side" is the best.

  • Winkiedoodles,

The lake is public access for all. They put the fish in and in a couple of days they catch them all out. I would have showed some of the other anglers catching fish but, I didnt have any filming release forms with me. I cant just go flashing anybody's mug all over the net like mine.

Thanks for watching and I cant wait for your next fishing adventure.

  • Looks good joe

    Love the releases

  • OhioOutdoorsman19,

A few of the fish got a little muddy but, I wanted to put them back so in a couple of days somebody who wanted a trout dinner could catch them and they'd still be fresh. Thanks for watching the show.

  • TheSnakeGuy1,

I guess I just get lucky with the ladies. No pun intended. LOL.

I think there are lots of talented future spokes models out there. In a few weeks I'll have a show where we do a spokesmodel open casting call like American Idol. I'm sure you'll love it.

  • stinkersinker.

Thanks. Fishing for hatchery trout is a popular pastime in the late fall when they stock them in Ohio. They usually arent big but, they are fun to catch. Thanks for watching the show.

  • nice vid man but in next vid can u get somthing with soem size?

  • zezimawanabefriends,

Not going to happen in this spot. The trout stocked into this lake dont reproduce or live past summer. The ones the State of Ohio stocks are the ones we catch. If they stock 10-14 inch fish thats all thats available in the lake. It's way different than lakes where they live year round and reproduce. We still have lots of fun catching them. It is what it is but, that doesnt mean I'm not going to give tips for the guys who like to catch them because they arent big.

  • That's cool. I would love to catch 7 and 9 pounders. Consider yourself lucky. Most of the lakes in my State cant support trout through the summer except Erie. If they dont get caught they just sink and die when it gets warm in the spring. It's a put and take situation. There is no growth in most of the lakes at all when it comes to trout. This lake is 3 to 5 acres and sits in a highly populated area. Thanks for watching. Where is Contra Loma at? It sounds like a great place.
