Well maybe you're wright. I know for a fact that people in those time believed the radio. My father who was 10 told me that some people in US took shelter during the war of the world broadcast and some of them after told reporter's thinking about commiting suicide...They believed also in Hitler good words Ford, Gm, IBM, Exxon signed contracts with this guy.... Beside those amusing facts Orson Wells bio relat's that incident...Yeah I' m not surprise. Don't be dumb read History
Bless the person who posted this...By the way it is a great movie if you love comic book films. Also if you like Orson Well movies. The Shadow radio show was the test show for his 1938 The War of the Worlds famous broadcast. People at the time believed the shadow existed in 1937
What a great score by Jerry Goldsmith, the first time I ever saw this film was in 1999 when I was 4yo and it was a childhood favorite of mine, and still is at this time!!
Amazing - kick-ass movie and incredible score by one of the masters. Where are all of the good melodies like these nowadays?? You will hum this for days, but will forget Hans Zimmer's score to The Dark Knight...although both are equally effective
this movie is vastly underrated and leagues better than either of the green themed superhero movies we've had in 2011 (hornet and lantern), both of which were mediocre at best. at least the shadow had a sense of pulpy fun about it, as well as great art direction and tongue in cheek performances. yet another terrific score from maestro jerry goldsmith too (nowadays, it seems the studios are reluctant to have superhero scores sound like this, stupid or what?)
I just watched team America. Alec Baldwins puppet character made me think of this movie, this movie reminded me of the fucking epic theme song. Now im here listening. My girlfriend is in the shower naked..... hmmm... nope im not moving.
@DaneTheConquerer i never saw the phantom but im sure i would like it because 90's superhero movies didnt take themselves so ultra seriously and werent all pretentious like the ones today. plus todays comic films dont have good music scores like the older ones did.
Oh My God I Love This Movie And Its One Of My All Time Favorites. I Was 7 When It Came Out And I Saw It Right When It Came To Stores. Nothing Beats This Theme Song And The Movie Is One Of The Best Out There. A Thousand Thank You's To The Uploader For This Wonderful Song ^_^
@DaneTheConquerer Ah, the Goldster... Mr. 'Star Trek' TV & movie scores. R.I.P.
Fairly okay treatment, for a disappointing film. Costume & makeup did their homework, but... the director & casting director didn't do enough. I would've preferred Timothy Dalton (007 'The Living Daylights') in this role, with Alan Arkin as Shreevy and Sharon Stone as Margo. As for the score... it would've been nice to hear a few excerpts of 'Oomphale's Spinning Wheel' in there. (Radio theme.)
@exaking Fine, root for whomever you want. As for my reason for wanting Dalton, look at him again in Fedora hat in Disney's THE ROCKETEER, then add the red mouth-scarf. Spitting image I tell 'ya, without prosthetic nose & ears to enhance it. As for perfect.... I'll stick to Orson Welles on radio; iciest Shadow voice ever. THAT'S perfection. Hope the reboot is a better match. Then maybe they can fix the damage done by Warren Beatty to DICK TRACY. These icons deserve better A-list films.
@exaking Are you fucking insane? You must be, because Dalton brought a breath of fresh air to an increasingly stale franchise. The Living Daylights is amazing.
@DaneTheConquerer Geez I'm an idiot! I had been reading about John Williams and seeing people incorrectly assign John Williams to Jerry Golsmith's genius. Idiot!
This theme is the soundtrack for what is taking place right now as the minds of men & women are being clouded by the evil forces within the walls of power.
The Shadow, The Phantom and Green Hornet are what superheroes are made of. The do not make them like that anymore. I hope the Hornet film is a success that way maybe we will get a new shadow and a better phantom then the one sci fi did.
Don't buy the first soundtrack issued as it contains too little of the score...get the expanded bootleg CD....which still doesn't contain the same version of the 'Bridge' used in the movie.
Goldsmith, the thinking man's John Williams. (Nothing against JW, but he goes for the heart, JG went for the nerves and the mind.)

By the styles in the film , I'd say it was set in the 30's or 40's.

@JKSpiero Timothy Dalton.. you must be kidding. he already took a dump on the 007 franchise... now you want him to ruin the shadow.
Baldwin was perfect.
