I find the yoga videos on youtube more beneficial than this particular guide to breathing, but its best to view all and go for the one thats suits you best.
u shouldnt go around....posting this crap mr...because its very bad for your lungs....who should we trust professionals who devote their life learning and researching and studying the pros and cons of the human body..or some freeloader whose a self proclaimed genius and closed to suggestion...u really need to reflect man...ur really are no messiah
wake up..study and then come back with ur suggestion
@jaylias I don't really believe in god either, but that doesn't mean I'm not going to search for the healthiest and most beneficial way to live. The medical industry prescribes drugs that do "patch-up" jobs, so you keep coming back for more. They contain terrible chemicals. Most doctors won't want you seeking the holistic route, for that requires individual thought and the medical industry doesn't like that. I implore you to research the matter, it might be the smartest thing you've ever done.
@eyeoftiger101 I would consult a medical professional (M.D.) before attempting strenous breathing exercises such as this! Naturopaths use 'alternative medicines' to treat patients, they do not have prescribing rights nor can they perform surgery. Simply put they are not recognised as primary care physicians :]
@jaylias I enjoy seeing comments like this. It only underscores the ignorance, blind faith and complete mind-control that the establishment titans of the so-called medical community exercise over their subject minions. I thank God for every soul that finds itself freed from the clutches of the serpent's lie. Trust in God and everything natural. Flee from the blindness of those who worship the symbol of the double serpent.
@jaylias By the logic of "eyeoftiger101" Strenous (sic) exercise is negative. Do not play sports, etc. MDs are not seers or priests. How many people have you known that had a physical and were "pronounced" fit as a fiddle, then within days dropped dead. Get real people... Yeah, hey doc do you think I should deep breathe or should I take more of your meds??
@pastorstraw LOL. You say I have blind faith in doctors, who btw have 12+ years of scientific higher education? You believe in a god, which there is absolutely no evidence for. There is a reason it is called 'alternative medicine' - it competes with medicine that is proven to be effective. And no i don't blindly follow my doctors advice, I listen to him and then I research for myself. I live in the UK, we have free healthcare here.. I can get any meds I want for FREE.
@pastorstraw Just because you are a Pastor does not mean you can denouce medical professionals. You are advising people as if you are an MD. Do you have any training in Pulmonology? Do you have any expertise in the respiratory sytem? If not, you should consider the moral implications of what you are doing. Why would you be against him seeking professional advice before using this technique? Surely, if it is effective, his doctor will confirm so. I trust an MD over an ordained minister.
@jaylias I have advanced degrees in Holistic Nutrition, and a Doctorate in Naturopathy. More importantly, I believe in free thought, and good sense. Allopathy is bad science. Your above comment ..... that " medicine ... proven to be effective" confirms your ignorance of the simple fact that on a daily basis, meds are recalled because of deaths and horrible side effects from barbaric potions pushed by big pharma and phychotic scientists. Wake up my dear friend. Tnx tho for writing
@jaylias Haha you amaze me..These breathing exercises are actually less strenuous than one breathes when making love or swimming..!!! Lungs are for breathing and we do not use them as well as we should..I have never heard of someone dying from deep breathing..have you?
@eyeoftiger101 Doing it the way he explains? Probably. Have never seen someone demonstrate how to breathe so unbelievably ineffectively! Is it a joke? When he takes a breath in...you should never FORCE your breath - it should be slow, natural and easy - not "really work...like that"....you should never force anything - ignore this guy!
@bigballamoney You're doing it too fast, sounds like hyperventilation. And if you aren't breathing fast it's probably your body getting used to the oxygen you're not used to having in your system. You may be a shallow breather like me. I for one, just watched this video and it's helping me so much... I cannot thank straw enough. Do not take what I said above too seriously as I may be wrong, I'm no doctor, just a normal everyday working person reading this and watching this video.
i smoke :'( im quiting though but 1 - 2 years of smoking raw rolling tobacco without a filter has taken its toll on my lungs and i feel bad for them so i need a way to clean them out sharpesh
I am a student of the art of MimChi-Kung, and I can truly attest that oxygenating the body is the most important thing you can do for your health. Thank you for publicizing this great theory.
Hey, cool informative videos. Just thought I would add that nose breathing is really good too, because the nasal passage moistens, warms and filters the air we breathe. Have you checked out Buteyko's breathing techniques? His methods are beneficial for people suffering from all sorts of respiratory complaints. Keep up the good work!
Thanks, I am considering heading to France and volunteering for the Legion, and I am a heavy smoker (I was stupid when I was 14), I want to increase my overall fitness and especially my lung capacity for stamina purposes and basic general health (it would suck if I got rejected because of my lungs).
THANK YOU I will be doing this exercise everyday for 5 mins morning and evening.
And I am only just quitting smoking too, so THANKS again haha
Good Video Sir . . . i was doing this already but i didnt know it was that good ... i did it to expand my lungs for my cardio exercises, are you a DR?? thanks for the info
The straw-breathing exercise*, which is used in one form or another by a number of breath therapists and teachers, can have a powerful and beneficial influence on your diaphragm and your breath. The exercise can help condition your diaphragm to relax and contract harmoniously and move slowly and evenly through its entire range of motion. it can also help empty your lungs more completely on exhalation, and allow a larger, more spontaneous inhalation.
when i used to smoke i was shown that you could put your fist to your mouth, blow hard against it (not letting air out) and you'll see a puff of smoke (even tho you're not smoking at the time) come out
I find the yoga videos on youtube more beneficial than this particular guide to breathing, but its best to view all and go for the one thats suits you best.
