well the ORIGINAL color of Auroras dress was SUPPOSED to be pink, merriweather turned it blue and it didn't get changed back until the very end,,,, when the 2nd color war started!

@duckerly28 I've been saying the same thing. Fauna should have got to have a little bit of say in the color. But she wasn't the type to bicker. She was the most passive one of the trio. I also think purple would be pretty on Aurora too.

I think they gave Auroa pink because it was the last color she was wearing before the book closed in the film. They may have also not wanted people to confuse her with Cinderella since she wears blue at the disney parks.

I mean come on...blue is the color they used most on Disney girls..it just is...Jasmine in blue, Belle in blue, hell even Ariel wore a blue sequin gown at the end of the film when she kisses Eric and she's finally turned human by her father

You're right, in factoriginally blue was the "girl color", boys used pink or purple. By the way, sleeping beauty dress changed colors all the time, but blue is the one she used the most.

I think that girls of nowadays are "obligated" to make pink her favorit color, I have a little newphe wich is a fan of Disney Princess, she has all in pink colors: Dresses, shirts, pens, bags, etc. But if you ask her favorit color, she will say "Blue" xD

I think that Cinderella's dress, which is usually blue in dolls and costumes, is really silvery white. The scene in which she dances in the film shows the dress with a blue hue because it is at night, dark places, the same way the prince suit is white and turns blue when dancing. When Cinderella gets her dress made by the Fairy, you can see the true colors of the dress. Why have they changed it to blue???

@Fancylooks You are correct. It was an off pearl like silver whit dress. I think it was meant to give the illusion of glass to compliment the glass slippers. Blue is often used because 1.) the dress looks blue in certain scenes of the ball dance and stroll through the garden and 2.) it's an easier color to mass produce instead of trying to recreate the original color. Sad to say, but that's marketing for you.

@AmericanEvita If you watch the end of the film as the two fairies continue their "make it pink, make it blue" fight, just as the book closes the dress turns pink. So it's pink!

Dont know who made it Official at the Disney Studios lol..the color that she looks great in is BLUE..and she was in blue for her big moment in the film..everytime I think about Sleeping Beauty I see Aurora in blue sleeping on a bed holding a rose...pink was meant to be the "wrong" color in the movie it was just Flora who wanted her in blue but the animators were fond of Merrywether the Blue Fairy

Why is it that the Princess Aurora costumes are always in pink ? This was not the color that the animators "stuck with" for the '59 movie...she is in BLUE for the big dramatic moments...the pink was more of a joke btwn Flora and Merriwether...I think it's because today pink is seen as more "girlish" than blue which is associated with a color for boys

NO...Cinderella NEVER wore a blue gown...in the movie it was white. I don't know why the Studios market dolls or costumes/merchandise with Cinderella wearing blue. Blue is the true Disney heroine color - Alice in blue, Wendy in blue, Aurora in blue, Belle in blue, Jasmine in blue...

They are both official princesses, so they decided to make them not match each other too closely.

I realize this. (And excuse me, I see Belle more as Gold. Her peasant dress is Blue. Saying Belle is gold is like saying Ariel's colour is Purple/Green).

The point is, they gave Cinderella blue because it's easier to draw then a white dress with blue tinge. They probably though white was too wedding, and anyways, in the sequels, they made her dress blue...

It's just how Disney markets, and they aren't going to change it now, because little girls honestly see Cinderella, and think "Blue!"

because they need to have the EXACT same hair as the cartoon, and as the rest of the people who play that character at the park. also its hard to control real hair and make it stay in the PERFECT place (like belle's hair in her ball gown, or Sleeping beauty's hair with her crown)
