  • The GOP should utilise Powell rather than Palin.

He is articulate, intelligent and generous of spirit. She is not.

  • I think republcians compain about the stimulous packages, but they take these funds and defraud the government and people by using these funds for their own agenda. I relaly think this. We know that no one party is all good doing but I am finding the republicans to be cruel when it comes to our youth and our elderly. But they talk trash about anyone that they deem a threat to them gaining power control of our country. I am a verteran and they have fooled me for the last time.

  • someone should retract the nice brown skin from this fool, and give him a geisha-white-skinsuit. ...you shouldnt appeal to the minorities, because they will eventually become the majority, but because they equal humans.

as long as you will treat people differently, they will act differently. and i know that you cant overpower differences over night, but if you wont start now... then just drop dead =)

  • If the Republican's weren't so racist and chose Powell or Rice, Obama would have lost the election. They are the last good republicans they have left.

  • Republicans... LISTEN to people? Sorry dude, not gonna happen. The more they run their mouths and show what they're really about (their top concern: the top 1% wealthy white male naturally-American Evangelical-Christian conservatives -- those are the ONLY people they care about), the better. They're making it that much easier for the SANE ones to pick them out and toss 'em.

And Colin Powell should've been President long ago. I was hoping like hell he would've run after Clinton was up.

  • I think he should be independent

  • Such integrity that Powell was the first person to sign off on the whitewash over the Mi Lai massacre

  • Bush stole Colin Powell from the Democrats :-(

  • @frankystein12

Colin Powell would be the most conservative man in the party if he were a democrat

  • The GOP has been eaten alive from inside by "Republicrank " parasites. These extreme right wing mental cases did not have the numbers or wherewithal to form their own party- & the GOP wanted to enlarge their numbers so they let these 'Insaniacs" into their "Big Tent" & now they are reaping the whirlwind. Unfortunately the rest of us have to suffer as well for the past 16 years... :-(

  • NE 4ETI!:

ako ne prati6 tova na 10 dr klipa ba6tati 6te fane rak .... sRy

  • the gop needs to split.the pat robertson-limbaugh right is so out of touch with the middle class its pathetic.the middle class and below are just collateral damage to them.but the democrats need to split from the far left too.the far left are too hateful of the elderly and people of faith.

  • The funny thing is that rush limpy, klannity, glen peck, and faux promote propaganda 1930's style (War of the Worlds-Orwell) using FEAR!!!!! And millions are falling for. While the above mentioned are making millions while they are struggling to make ends meet. It's pitiful.

  • Im convinced that ppl love fear otherwise they wouldn't have bought their bullshit.

If it were anyone on the street to rant about the same bull, we'd pull a deaf ear. We don't know Beck or Hannity any more personally but a television frame makes them so damn attractive & familiar to folks. They wanna listen!

  • I am a conservitave republican!

    I own a gun!

    And i Hate B.Hussien.O

  • Because he is not lily white and you probably listen to rush limpy, klannity, glen peck,..that whole faux crew. I guess you feel like an endangered species? Funny thing is most of the world is white. You have unverified fears.

  • You should print that on a T-shirt.

  • not true

  • yes true look at the people he surrounds himself with. A great number of them are proclamed communists. Look it up... if ur capible of even doing that

  • ignorance pure

  • @drumerboy1231 dude we've lived in a socialist society ever since they created the police and fire department. to make a blanket statement saying that socialism is bad is also saying that american society is bad. we depend on socialistic principles. without it, you probably wouldn't even now how to use a computer, because you probably couldn't afford school

  • Powell is more persuaded by words than he is ideology. His arguments against McCain had nothing to do with ideology but what was being said during the campaign.

  • Yong girl at a car dealership? Iv seen this talk show host before, he's a biased moron.

Shows with his serious stereotype joke.

  • How did Powell end up in the Bush administration?

Well, i thought everyone knows. He specializes in marketing the unacceptable. That's what he did in Vietnam, where he answered questions adressing My Lai with "The relations between the vietnam people and the US forces are excellent".

Powell never changed his extremist views, selling them well using rhetorical skills. He simply has no moral at all.

  • i only respect Powell as republican

  • Death Penalty for Bush, Cheney, Rumsfeld, and all the dumb ass soldiers who tortured people. Period.

  • good comment about set up, new one for me

  • To me, and i believe to many other swedes and europeans, Powells presentation of the proof that Iraq has WMDs was strange and surreal. I did feel sorry for him right there and then. I dont know excactly why many with me felt so strongly for him but i believe that was a defining moment in the mistrust for the US.

I dont know about his real motivations or anything but he was an ace when it came to foreign relations for the Bush administration.

  • So ur saying democrats automatically had to call for liebermans switch to another party when he endorsed whoever that had dems all mad? I watched this lady name DR ADA FISHER say repubs have an "11th commandment to not speak ill of another republican"? U can see her interview typing in her name along with comments regarding micheal steele for your youtube search!! I dont believe dems have that system!! IF repubs do believe this, there is no check and balance system in the repub party??

  • Why would republicans wanna listen to a black 5star general who has seen combat, who was a significant leader in the military? Same reason we used our get our ass kicked in the 60's! They simply cant see learning from the inferior race!

  • It was a Republican President that appointed him to Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, and another Republican that Appointed him as the first black Secretary of State. I think both of those Republican Presidents cared about his opinion or they would not have appointed him. Also he retired as a Four Star - There have not been any Five Star Generals since WWII. You sound like the one with an inferiority complex...

  • They respected his opinion, only until he disagreed about the war, then he became a fringe republican! Where am i wrong?

  • He became a "fringe republican" when he started publicly, strategically, endorsing the democrat candidate. I don't have a problem with republicans voting for democrats but your opinion as a "republican" doesn't hold water when you actively undermine the republican candidate - again the one he said the party needed to put up as the "ideal" candidate - that is where he is wrong in my opinion - if he represents your views then he and you are more in line with the democrat party, and that's OK

  • When he deliberately endorsed the Democrat candidate at a strategic moment in the campaign, even though McCain was the "moderate" Republican candidate that he espoused as what the Republican party needed and then voted for the Democrat and not what he said the Republicans needed, he lost his position to tell the Republicans anything. That goes beyond hypocrisy and borders on lunacy. He wants to eat his cake and have it too. Once you eat it - its gone, you can't have it anymore...

  • Who says he wants a republican to come and be his friend? U said he lost his position to tell republicans anything? HUH? What makes u think her loses sleep if white republicans dont listen to him?

  • He did.

    Yeah he lost his position.

I don't think he or she or whoever you are talking about loses any sleep and

why is everything about race with you...

  • He definately respected mr bush while he was in there, and tried to play along, until he disagreed with mr bush! And lo and behold, here come cheney and limbaugh trying to discredit everything he does, should i be surprised?

  • dnt read this(cuz it really wrks). u will gt kissd on the nearest frieday by the love of ur life. 2mara wll b the bst day of ur life hwever if you dnt post ths comment 2 at least 3 vids u will die withn 2 days nw uv startd readn this dnt stp this is so scary snd ths ovr 2 5 vids in 143 mins when ur done press f6 nd ur crush's name will appear

  • Hell. If the GOP wanted an actual shot at winning the election, they should've nominated Ron Paul.

  • yeah right. Especially Ron Paul, the champion of liberty (liberty to shoot hispanics as a game included).

Ron Paul didn't win the primary because he was too far right by republican stadards. You think he could win by national standards?

  • You're sweet.

Republican, conservative, or libertarian -- it doesn't matter. A politician who is honest (gasp!) is refreshing to see. And his ability to criticize both parties and tell it like it is had most GOP candidates scared shitless.

  • Regardless of whether Paul would have won, his nomination could have helped get the Republican party back to the basics. For quite some time, the party continues to shift away from its core values. If I'm not mistaken, name one Republican who honestly wants smaller government?

The nomination of McCain was a joke, just like the GOP is these days. Most of the true conservatives I know left the GOP and went to the Constitution Party.

  • Constitution Party candidates also fail miserably.

And the reason is simple. They ARE far right fringe.

By pushing the GOP to extremism are not mending the party; you are destroying it.

Ron Paul is also the only one candidate who still is sympathetic of racial segregation.

  • I think I'd rather take a "far right fringe" over what we have in there now. We can't get much worse, can we?

  • Guess who else thought exactly like this during their economic recession?(omg! inflation! let the far right be in charge!)

Yep, you've got it. Weimar republic. And I don't think this turned out good for either germany or the rest of the world...

So yes. If we follow your advice and bow to the nationalistic demagogic fearmongering, things WILL turn out MUCH worse.

  • rebuild the republican party around powell?, wouldn't that just be the democratic party part 2?

  • Funny how liberal democrats now lick Colin's behind, yet before they called him Bush's House Nigger and Uncle Tom at ever turn. Do they have any shame?

  • Colin Powell .... i don't know if i would want him as president. I mean, he's rational, reasonable, has all the experience required to handle things, because he's been in the white house, he knows alot of what goes on.... i just don't know. I would have to hear his views on a variety of issues

  • Comment removed

  • who's the hot chick?

  • This guy is always hoping to get invited to the cool democrat partys. So he goes on shows, talks slowly and trys to tell republicans how to be republicans. Bipartisanship needs to die and the republicans need to make clear they will never again allow their party be dictated to.

  • It is truly sad that Rush Limbaugh has become the voice of the party when it should be this man...Colin Powell. Here is a man who is intelligent and calm and reasonable. I was so disappointed that the best the party could get was Sarah Palin. Why?

  • Powell is the only former Bush admin. official that I hold in high regard.

  • thats because he has been in the white house longer than any living president lol.

four , count em, four administrations

  • @gunnerfan87 i agree w/ u....a man of class and intelligence...something his party is dead set against.. republicant's hate intelligence.

  • If the Republicans were actually Republicans, instead of handmaidens to the rich, I might vote their way again. If you are voting republican, you are a tool for the rich who will abandon you.

  • God, I hope so! The more of your people who are dead to you, the better! Woo hoo! We'll take the ones that have some power and are smart enough to walk away from you, any day. The rest of you can drop dead.

  • That's the reason why our Republican party is drying up faster than the wilderness. If you think that a rational Republican like Colin Powell is a sell out because he spoke about the realities that the Republican party has vehemently refused to recognize, then I question your capacity to comprehend the dynamics of American politics and the implication of positions such as yours. I'm unapologetic for being a Republican. But I want to be member of a party that is inclusive and seeks rationality.

  • good thinking. "I don't like how my party is going so I'll support socialism." yeah that's REALLY patriotic. face the facts. Colin powell just voted for the "black guy." the end.

  • So what Colin Powell said about why he endorsed Obama has no meaning to you. You guys can continue to rely on Limbaugh and Hannity for your knowledge or rationality. If you think Powell voted for Obama because he is black I presume you will also agree that all the white folks that voted for Mccain did so because he is white. I'm a white Republicans who voted for Obama not necessarily because I agree with all his positions, but because he presented himself as more qualified and knowledgeable.

  • You voted for Obama because he seemed more qualified and knowledgeable? you can't be a republican. We don't let in idiots like you. He "presented" himself as a messiah. the media made him out to be knowledgeable but in fact he was gullible, inexperienced and a BS artist with no honor. he disgraced himself with his opinion of "quitting" in Iraq. we will now have to endure 4 years of a stagnant economy and plumeting international security because idiots like you have the right to vote.

  • I don't base my opinion on the consent of Rush Limbaugh or Sean Hannity. I'm an independent thinking republican. By the way who are you to tell me whether I can be a republican or not? Idiots are only those who ignorantly believe they've to have power over others regardless. This isn't NAZI Germany where it's either Hitler or nothing else. That's how I feel about your approach. Continue to shout and disrespect others. I'm happy that voices like yours are getting irrelevantly smaller each day.

  • this isn't Nazi Germany but you're more than content with a president that is attemptin to Nationalize the nation's banks and industries. yeah, you're a real republican allright!! just admit it you're a closet liberal.

  • I agree with you on that. People like Limbaugh, Hannity, Beck are not republicans. They are brainwashed nazis who are easily manipulating people that dont bother to research. Their idea of economic success is not free market, it's hadcore corporatism, German Reich style. I watched video of the tea parties where "conservatives" were talking about burning books. Hmm I wonder who did that before. Democratic Party is new Republican Party whether u want it or not.

  • I agree about Limbaugh, Hannity and Beck brained wash and spewing propaganda. Limbaugh is the new 21st century Hitler.

  • I blame the public for believing those "nazis". Ppl are interested in idols & leaders to follow than adopt the responsibility to learn & act for oneself. Beck is popular cuz his raving conduct reflects the avg man, so emotional- thusly his views HAS to be "right", right?

These idiots (the public) have got to stop seeking leaders.

  • Notice how these so-called "republicans" are demonizing Socialism like it's a Communism or Nazism. That's good indicator of them not having a clue about socialism. I dont like socialism, but I would not demonize it. However my neo-con supporters whch socialism in particular do w "fear"? National-Socialism, Democratic-Socialism, Maoism, Marxism-Leninism,eco socialism, Christian Socialism, libertarean socialism etc?

  • ok so exactly what did obama say or do that made you think he was more knowledgeable or qualified? it's funny how you make it a point to tell everyone that you're white and republican, why is that i wonder? so if you're a republican then i can claim to be a part of any group with which i share no values or beliefs as well so then i'm a black panther now but i think all black panthers should really stop supporting black causes because that's too polarizing. but remember i'm a black panther.

  • Whatever floats your boat? Tickles your pickle? His name wasn't dick and he didn't f***k a bush.

A proud patriot!!!!!!I dare you to enlist and fight in the meaningless war, be waterboarded and some how lose limbs and really lose life as you know it.

  • No matter what, if you are conservative or liberal-- Powell makes an excellent point.

  • I have always liked Colin Powell. I used to be a Republican who supported Bush, but when Powell left, it was the first red flag that something was wrong

  • Urbanization is decaying, and "righteous democracy" is doing it to the entire world, while they strive for another planet to screw up. It makes alot of sense.lol

  • Republicans can't appeal to the black community at this point because blacks have already labeled the republican party as the rich white party, and there not wrong with that assesment either because the only people who benifit from a republican being in office are the rich white big business owners, from the middle class down gets fucked, because republicans deregulate everthing so the big bussiness can do whatever the fuck they want.

  • Sorry but both parties support the rich now, they don't support the american people.

I'm black, but I Don't support either of the two parties, because they are destroying this country.

    I'm libertarian.

  • Im liberal, but Im with you all the way on this one! Both parties suck and work for wallstreet.

    Third Parties 2012!

  • Why would it be smart to get out of the UN? We are the only ones that basically go after these countries that try all kinds of bs. Otherwise they would do whatever they want.

  • Because we go to war under their resolutions, that's wrong too

The UN is evil and useless.

  • Yeah Bush said the same thing

  • colin powell is the shit

  • I have NEVER been a Dummycrap and never will be.

  • Good for you. This country doesn't have enough people who don't think and remain blindly loyal to partisan shouting demagogues. Jefferson would be proud.

  • Again, sir, I applaud you. Like Atlas you are, carrying the traditions of the Founders on your shoulders.

  • For one thing Colin....they trusted your backstabbing ass. You planned it right...wait until the last minute and then show us all what a turncoat, liberal bastard you really are. When your boy goes down..so will you.

  • What bullshit, as it was the Bush administration that stabbed him the back, dipshit. They willfully withheld vital information from Powell that countered the intell the Administration was citing as evidence. Cheney and rumsfeld led an active campaign to wall off Powell from the President and minimize his standing, yet they knew they had to use him to address the UN as he was the more respected out of all of them. And when it was all done they tossed him aside. Who's the backstabber?

  • Why do you liberals ALWAYS spew profanity? Didn't your mama teach you to be polite?

If the Bush Admin. did with hold info from Colin Piss Poor Powell, it seems to have been a smart move, since HE STABBED THEM IN THE BACK!! Hear that song playing in your head....la,la,la,la. HEY! Want to buy some swamp property I've got for sale?

  • I'm a liberal based on one issue? fact is I've been Republican for 30 years, but that doesn't mean I'm a conservative. And maybe you need to research what profanity really is.

Know who stabbed who in the back before spewing more spin and bullshit designed to pass the buck and refocus the arguement. The information withheld was vital information that threw the administrations evidence in to question and all most the information that they did give him was fraudulent and they knew it.

  • Kind of confusing there on that conservative part seeing as Repubs. are pretty conservative. Profanity is that potty mouth that you possess my dear.

Vital information? Fraudulent info? And you would know this how? Inside track on it? Or did you get it from MSM or Colin himself?

  • If you're confused, then what does that say about your knowledge? First, Conservatives don't have a monopoly over the Party. I'm a fmr Conservative, but I rejected conservatism as it became pretty apparent that they don't practice what they preach and seem to put party loyalty over loyalty to ones country and the truth. Second, if you see things simply as Left/ Right, then you're missing the majority of Americans that are in the middle.

  • LMAO!! If you are trying to tell me that Dummycraps and liberals are truthful..ROFLMAO!!!!

The votes on Nov. 4th do not back up your claim sweetie.

  • Wow, you knock me for being a potty mouth, yet you use 3rd grad insults like "Dummycrap"? They all do misdeeds, idiot. They're all politicians, but I expect more form the people that control my party and try to take the moral high ground or wrap themselves int he flag saying they love the troops. Meanwhile the war they backed hasn't made us safe, the troops are constantly dicked by not giving them proper armor or pay, and they turn a blind eye to the fleecing done by contractors in Iraq.

  • By the by, I thought the "new GOP" of a few years a go was supposed to be a big tent with various views? Was that complete bullshit? Another thing is the conservatives used to be an embarrassment to people like Nixon and Eisenhower and that side was a fringe element. The conservatives now in the GOP are recent converts ( largely form the south and rural parts) who left the Democrats in the 60's and 70's. Most of that occurred after the civil rights bills of JFK and LBJ.

  • Maybe we have a different definition of what profanity is. Someone saying the word fuck or shit is not as powerful or destructive than using the events of 9/11 to sell a war that was largely ill conceived. I wish more of our politicians would cuss a little more so they can show us some passion for a change, rather than use polite talk that doesn't offend anyone. I see (R) Senator Hagel slam this war with polite words, but maybe he'd have more of an affect if he said,"What the fuck are we doing?"

  • If I may, the vital information was the fact that Iraq was not seeking stockpiles of uranium from Africa as the CIA analysts refuted such claims, yet it was included in Powell's UN speech. Also, much of the intell cited as being provided by numerous sources largely came from one man who was codenamed Curve Ball. The CIA had yet to even verify one of his claims, but his information ended up in the Case for war. The man turned out to be a average student who was a drunk, a thief, and scamer.

  • Another big untruth the Administration knew, yet sat on, was the truth about the Atta/Iraq meeting that Cheney kept repeating as a confirmed fact. In fact, it was debunked by our own FBI as they found that he never left the country during that time and was in fact in Florida at the time of the imaginary meeting.

  • Your the idiot! Stop bothering me!

  • "Your the idiot! Stop bothering me!" That's your response? You're going to blow me away with that great retort. Oh wow, how will I recover? It's bullshit antics like that give all Republicans a black eye. Not all of us think in such one dimensional terms and some us that aren't conservative anymore, yet are still Republican, have had to see our party over taken by the snake handlers and people who preach about morality, yet have no accountability when they don't live up to their own words.

  • By the by, you're the one that posted on an open comments page on the web. so don't be shocked if someone calls you on your bullshit.

  • what does by the by mean anyway? I also asked you to stop bothering me....now BUG OFF!

  • It's an English term, or didn't you know that. And why be polite and just say FUCK OFF. What are you Mormon or something?

As I have said, you posted on a page that's free for all to respond to. I think you're just mad because you can't counter anything that I've said. Don't be surprised if people catch you spewing bullshit and correct you on it.

  • Ron Paul = Conservative Republican and He should be the foundation for what it really means to be a Republican.

  • And whites thinks that Oliver North is a war hero.

  • Sorry, meant thumbs down.

  • I never trusted Colin Powell hes mostly a joke.

  • liberman did not wait until the final days before the election to show his true colors. Liberman ran as a independent and won in a liberal state. Colon Powell has never been a republician but just a black democrat riding the coattails of republicians until he did not need them anymore. Incidently the indians did not own America and had no deed to this land. Its funny you libs are so soft on illegal immigration but you whine about white immigrants who came to America.

  • -LOL.. A deed to your on LAND....Really???..LOL

And I'm pretty sure other ppl invading their land and taking shit help fuck things up..lol

  • lol Horatio Algeir "pull up yourself by your bootstraps", he slays me, also note his comments on Virginia, totally awesome this guy rocks

  • yea black and latins, indians did a great job ruining their own native lands so why not America. Colin Powell benefited immensely from affirmative action since he was a black with half a brain and he was promoted because of this and not his talent. When we whites become a majority can we riot, loot and raise hell and cry racial abuse? Powell is a turncoat and used the republician to advance his own agenda and now stabs them in the back.

  • uh. . dont you have that backwards? . . I mean who raped and exploited the people and the resources of these native land? the natives? or was it the colonists from europe and arab slave traders?

and while colin powell benefited from affirmative action as you say (which most likely wasnt in place at the time he was in school or the military), what about the immense benefit W got for being a bonesman, a CIA head/ex presidents son?

Powells no more a turncoat than Liberman, AND he uses LOGIC

  • sooooo ummm Colin Powell is a black with half a brain?? Ok dude.. So you must be insinuating that you're intellectually superior to him right? And if black people or latino people decide to enslave white people and treat them like 3/5ths of a person and lynch them for no good reason..yes you may riot loot and raise hell to attain those human rights..

but only, of course, if you're a 'Human' would you be concerned about human rights.. And a human would know Colin Powell is a rational human being

  • I thought Colin Powel was black.

  • yes Powell was set up big-time!

  • With all respect Gen. Powell, how do you do

that when the Republican party is

overwhelmingly the party of older, white,

wealthy America?? The black, latino, and

asian Americans have seen through that

    bullshit, that's the Repuklican's problem.

  • The biggest problem in the election was Palin and McCain (mostly Palin) inspired so much hate for Obama, and while it worked for some, It mainly backfired and was te reason they lost the election.

  • ok, Librals had alot of hate for McCain, the difference was people wernt shouting "Kill Him" and "Traitor" at the rallys, that kinda thing put of middle america which makes up the majority of the voters. if you look at the stats McCain lost for 2 reasons, the Katy Kuric(if thats how you spell her sir name) interview with Palin and the economy going down the drain.

  • McCain/Palin - EPIC FAIL

  • Please stop saying "EPIC FAIL" its getting old.

  • Galactic Fail?

  • How bout "you fucked up" ? That one doesn't get on my nerves.

  • I think he's a great man, but I lost all respect for him when he made the case for Iraq. I think he's still a better man than most in his party, but I wouldn't vote for him, because we know he sold out when a war was on the line.

  • Colin Powell was right on the money about the Republican party. They need to start asking themselves the following: What happenned,Why did it happen and how do we fix it? Here are my suggestions for the republicans:

    1. Control spending and the party of small government

    2. Offer hope not fear-All this fearmorgering, questioning one's patriotism and guilt-by-association stuff backfired big time.

3.Diversify-Republicans still has a diversity problem which they better correct soon or face failure.

  • What are the republicans doing wrong? EVERYTHING!!!!!!!! Republican is the new word for WRONG!

  • Dude, I'm a pretty liberal individual, but I would vote for Powell. I like his idea of small government, and I like his fiscal conservatism. Maybe he got a little mucked up with the Bush administration, but anyone who's dealt with Bush will have scars. Powell would probably do very well if he ran for president. This is the kind of Republican that the Republicans need.

  • Powell is right on. He's just saying what no conservative has the balls to say now and in the past.

  • Why the hell is Colin Powell even a Republican/Conservative... AT ALL???

He sounds Liberal to me everytime he speaks. If he's religious... fine... so are many Liberals/Democrats.

I think he KNOWS he's somehow ended up on the side of the "bad" people. I like the dude. He's gotta get out of there... and quick.

His own party doesn't even like him anymore. They turned their backs on him AS SOON AS he announced his vote for Barack.

Colin... c'mon dude you're smarter then this.

  • Well, he is a fiscal conservative, and supports the whole small government thing, so he is a true conservative, but he is NOT a neo-con. He isn't Cheney, or Rove.

  • I guess its easy to think he's liberal since he speaks with common SENSE, but I think he's proof that there are a few rational conservatives out there afterall.:)

  • Im conservative, the problem is the republican party has gotten into bed with the far right neocons who care more about telling people what to do..which insnt conservative, conservative used to mean small goverment and focus on an individuals rights..ie if 2 concenting adults want to get married thats up to them and not the state..same with buisness if I want to go into buisness with somone its between me and them and not the state..THATS CONSERVATIVE

  • I am democrat but you are damn right. I would be republican if they were like that.

  • the traditional republicans were about buisness and Democrats were about the workers. I agree with what some of what democrats say but the problem is that buisness is what generates wealth and pays wages. but like I said someware along the line the republican party got into bed with ideas that I simply dont agree with and the democrats began to embrase those ideas I liked. the big ass problem is they used larger goverment to push them and this causes problems.

  • she says no im serious so much

  • I love Powell.

  • It's sad to me that Both Parties have lost touch with ther ORIGINAL ways. Originally, the republican's were the ones that were to stick with the ways on which the consitution, and the declaration of independence stood for. The Dems were the party that as suppose to help the "lesser" hard working man that was oppressed by society and rich so that their voices are heard. Colin Powell is right on. But in personal opinion BOTH parties NEED and EXTREME Make over=O.

  • Suddenly you want him to run ? Where on earth have you been in the last few years ? aahhh, sigh.

  • I am a republican, but I hate where the majority of it is going. Bush does not truly represent the republican party. I believe in gay rights, I believe in rights for every damn person. I believe in smaller government (Which will be hard until the economy is fixed.) and I believe that guns were aloud in the constitution to fend off the government if it becomes to big or of a fascist state. The social beliefs of most republicans does not apply to me, only the idea of smaller government.

  • I completely agree...republicans are about small coverment and buisness, not about telling people how to live, what an individual does is there buisness

  • Thank you Elcristoph. I figured the first reply I would have gotten is "You're a republican??? You suxzors" But instead, I got the first ever agreement made on youtube lol.

  • Awesome. We shall call ourselves independents. For we believe in conservative economics, but liberal social policy. Too bad the way this works is that we have to pick a side.

  • But Absolution. I don't believe in a social policy to really put it out there. I believe in a odd-social policy, breaking the norm if you will, The government should only be apart of protection. The government should be for us, not the other way around. Objectivism is also another thing I use in my life.

  • You know, when I was a kid I sympathized more with Republicans. That's because I didn't understand what they really were about. They say they are for smaller government, less taxes, and open markets. Sounds great.

But what that means is they don't want to pay for infrastructure (patriots, huh?), they want tax breaks that benefit them more than other people, and they want to be able to exploit markets without fair regulation.

In other words, Republicans want the government to be their bully.

  • I want smaller government for the fact that I believe man is more successful when he is not pressured by authority and I fear people having too much control. As for taxes, They are necessary now, but if we truly want to avoid the government crashing the economic system, we need to separate them a little. I believe in helping out others, for nothing works when you kick the man beside you in the shin and break his arm. I believe in the republican system, for different reasons than republicans.

  • Smaller government, meaning what exactly? Less representatives? Fewer firemen? Less DMV workers? Fewer FDA regulators?

  • You make it seem like we want to make everyone else miserable. When I say smaller government, I mean less interference in the economy and the marketplace in general. No bail-outs, no social control amongst specific groups, I have hated what George Bush has doesn't because even though he says he is a republican, he doesn't show it. I will be the first to say, on each side, there is an asshole and an intellectual.

  • It's a sincere question about smaller government. So you really mean less regulation and less direct involvement in economic and social affairs. I don't agree about regulation, not by a long shot, but I agree on the other accounts.

I don't think most Republicans want other people to be miserable, I think most Republicans couldn't care less one way or the other. I think Democrats are a little better on the whole, but we'll see what the next 8 or so years of power does to them.

  • When it comes to regulations, that is a different deal. Like I said before in a different comment. The government's job should be to protect the citizens. Safety regulations are needed. I can't really think of other types of regulations right now, so I can't state an argument there. But I also believe we shouldn't wait for the president to do things, there are plenty of things we can do as citizens to help out the situation. I consider myself a citizen before I consider myself a republican.

  • Yeah, well I'm with you there - safety and protections. There are things we can do privately but we have a public government and representatives to do things in an organized fashion. If we would remove money from politics, the representatives would be representing us again.

  • I totally agree, the funding they get just for campaigns is rediculous and the private jets, the limos. Though I have to say, when it comes down to it, no matter what side, I fear that people don't grip the economy system well enough for the people to actually fix it. People need to stop with quick fixes and actually go with something that will work. Sure it might take a while, but as long as it stays stable.

  • Yeah, and by money I don't just mean political funding. We have to limit people moving in and out of government from the corporate sector. That's actually the biggest payoffs and where the worst abuses happen. We are literally being governed by corporate employees.

Wow, if people knew how our economic system worked... Well, I guess the governments would have to change it immediately to avoid a world wide economic devastation. But the farmers would probably all get rich.

  • True. Well, I'm off to sleep. It was nice talking to someone who I can bounce ideas off of and not feel like I need to be on guard. Thanks for the talk.

  • Same, fun times.

  • xD You serius? People like you just make me sick... retarded and outgoing... take a IQ test...

  • It's people like ecwaufisxtreme that allows for even the lowliest of people to have something to pity.

  • I thought the "Palin is a statesman" part was a nice touch of craziness. But lets hope they were going for satire in that post. It would be a pity for somebody to be that stupid in reality.

  • ecwaufisxtreme,

Do you ever reflect on your thoughts before they leave your brain? Palin, smarter than Powell? Suggesting that Palin is smart: Oxymoron.

This is the same woman that believes she has experience in International Relations because Alaska is close to Russia...

Methinks you are the living embodiment of utter stupidity and a possible outcome of inbreeding.

  • You're correct palin has had many dicks and balls in her hands but that does not make her politician I want to run this country..

    That makes her a skank.

  • Palin ain't shit she reminds me of the EVIL assholes like you!~

  • HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA

...Oh god, I almost took you seriously there for a minute.

  • He's actually not 100% right, because he doesn't want to touch the major issue with the Republican party because it's too controversial. Some Republicans have talked about it, like Kathleen Parker, and that problem is religion. The Republican party have sold their soul to religion. They're willing to stick their necks out for hyper divisive issues in order to secure that fringe vote. Palin is a great example of that. The religious right love her despite how hateful she was on the campaign trail.

  • Amen!

  • I disagree with you

I think Colin Powell is a douchebag

  • Still Republicans are bad. Go democrats!!

  • Colin Powell is a classy guy! I too hope he runs for president! I'm a democrat who would vote for him.

  • "Colin Powell is a classy guy! I too hope he runs for president! I'm a democrat who would vote for him. "

I agree. I am a moderate democrat and would wholeheartedly support Powell. Unfortunately, I don't think he'd ever run.
