But even if I didn't, that doesn't disprove my point: the unborn are biologically human beings like us and therefore should be protected like us. What evidence do you have that the unborn are not human beings?
So conjoined twins are not persons? How about people dependent on their medicines or newborns who only eat their mother's breast milk. According to your definition, they are all not human beings too. Should we have a right to kill them then too?
How does that change their biology? How does that make them nonhuman? Besides, from what I recall, anything that reproduces sexually begins their life in the womb, right? That's why it's called sexual reproduction. That's what makes us placental mammals - because our offspring develop inside the womb. Dependency doesn't determine personhood.
A fetus cannot be classified as a human being, a potential human being yes, but not a human. Did you know for instance that at 4 months development a fetus has a tail (that we inherited from our reptile ancestors, or do you not believe in evolution as well). Now would you classify that as human? Essentially embryos and fetuses are just undeveloped lumps of clay.
A potential X is still a Y. So what is the unborn? The fetus does have what looks like a tail, but if you know embryology, that's not a tail. The human spine develops faster than the other parts of the body so it extends further than the body at that stage of the development. The unborn human are exactly what they are supposed to look like at that stage of development. Besides, what do human beings look like?
