Well I didn't see the band in 92, but I did catch them twice in Alberta. I thought the new guy was superb. Very powerful but not overbearing, and very tasteful. He was 100% committed to the songs, and the whole band was awesome on both nights.
As good as this was, their rendition of it on the '92 tour was much stronger. Lee Partis's absence from this tour was noticeable. The fill-in fellow was OK but Lee's always spectacular. Caught the tour-closing show in Vancouver a week after your recorded this. The energy here seemed stronger. Liked your comment about your mom. I remember taking mine to a Strawbs concert in Ottawa a few light-years ago. During the music that plays before the band came on, she said "I can't see them at all."
