  • Still have my Super Nintendo and DKC1-2-3

  • Undoubtedly, one of the best intros in game history.

  • im so happy i never sold mine, i still have the trilogy of dk :)

  • I've played 1, 2 and 3, and my memories from DKC2 are kinna of scary, maybe cuz of the sound track.

I'd choose 3 instead of 2, anyway this is part of my childhood and I'll never forget it.

    DK <3

  • AAAAAAAAAAAASTYHADASTF E THE NOSTALGIA!

  • I remember getting this game first day it came out when I was 5. I watched my dad play it for 5 hours until he finally beat it. It would have been 3 hours but my dad died A LOT XD

    Still a fantastic game.

  • Best SNES game series ever. The DKC2 soundtrack being the best.

  • Nostalgasm.

  • I love that Rareware intro screen... I want a video tutorial on how to recreate that.

  • wow i just realized its called Diddy's Kong Quest not Diddy Kong's Quest I think I need to play DKC 1-3 right now :)

  • that opening nintendo screen is really awsome

  • Donkey Kong Country are classic games you can't beat when it comes to video games these days ! :) I miss Rare :(

  • I didnt see an intro, when i played!

  • Memories...

  • Thankfully I am glad that I was a kid that got to experience the old Super Nintendo games such as the Super Mario games and most of all the Donkey Kong series. All nostalgic to me. And now playing modern games are fun too but I am proud to have those memories of me and my sister playing this game and having our cousins come over our house showing tips and tricks.

  • The name of the game was Quality before it became Money.

  • i was so used to simple controllers for years and simple games. then the nintendo 64 came out somewhere around '98 i guess and i tried it out but it was so confusing with the 360 degree turns and billions of buttons -- i just gave up. I was at walmart recently and they have a wii on display, i can't figure it out for the life of me ! jeez. hahha

  • @japierce15 you....sound like an old timer.

  • @cormeaga ;) i'm 27 just have an old soul i guess.

  • @japierce15 I'm 20 and still enjoy games made in the late 80's and 90's. I even have my "Cranky Kong" moments with my little cousins who don't know how play Mario Bros. 3 well (or any 2d platformer). So, play on "old" timer, play on.

  • @cormeaga I have my "Cranky Kong" moments as well, especially when they said they didn't know what an N64 was, but knew what a Playstation (PS1) was. Let me just tell you, it involved me firing up the N64 after digging it out from my closet, and forcing them to absorb the epicness of the DK rap.

  • @japierce15 Even if you are still unused to 360 degree turns etc on N64 you should seriously try Goldeneye 007 and Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time;

those are some of the best games ever made and feel absolutely wonderful to play, especially when you play them for the first time.

Ocarina of Time is particularly powerful, I've never felt so spellbound by any other game before, or any other medium at all for that matter.

  • the rareware and nintendo logo sound at the beginning is actually more awesome than the menu music : D

  • The music of the rare logo is epic

  • @ebermed I think so too ;P

  • I grew up with emulators.. Does that count as retro gaming?

  • @morado328 neat

  • What a great game, seriously though what WTF beat does this theme start on. For the life of me I can't count it in

  • HOOO DIOS MIO LONGG LIVE DONKEY KOONGG!!!!!!!

  • why isn't it "Diddy Kong's Quest"? What's up with that?

  • This one was my favourite from dkc series... I remember I was 6 when I played it and I actually played it together with my sister.I played as diddy and she as dixie :)

  • Nintendo, if you love us, you need to bring back all the NES, SNES, and all the other Nintendo games.

  • ARGHHH the memoriessssss FUUUUU

  • i love donkey kong trylogiiiii

  • 1:18 = awesome memories.

  • probably the plainest intro in the dkc series but holy fuck is this game hard

  • 17 years old, ands i still perfer these older models. But now the younguns got ahold of my snes. at least theyre enjoying it.....please stop throwing the controllers

  • Where is that open song starting at 0:01 - 0:10 from? I know I've heard it from somewhere...

  • Not as amazing of an intro as DKC1.

  • Comment removed

  • Ok, stop replying to my comment people, I hadn't even played this game when I made that comment, which was over a year ago, I get it. Enough please.

  • 0:00 to 0:10 Amazing intro!!

  • I still have chills running up my spine every time I see the Rare logo for this intro :) This was an awesome game, and I still have my old SNES and the cartirdge for all three DKC games, but this was by far the best one! <3

  • Thumbs up if you believe Donkey Kong Country Returns won't be as awesome as Donkey Kong Country 2.

  • This was a real gem of a game, I would play it for hours when I was little, and I would never become bored of it, so many hours of struggling through to beat the levels, this screen, and the Game Over screen would permanently be glued into my memory forever. Rare made such an amazing sequel to an already amazing game, and I miss this game so much, but, atleast I have the emulators so I can relive it all.. I feel sorry for anyone who missed out on this, it is a classic for the ages. SNES Forever!

  • @RacerPlanetZX1 i have donkey kong country 1 2 and 3 for snes and they all wrk perfectly im kind of a old school gamer but i do love sme of the nbew onbes especaly mario and sonic legend of zelda (i really want donkey kong country returns) i like smackdown vrs raw games and some others but i mostly love old games

  • Hehe just watch how hard that old system fights to keep up with the crazy graffics of the DKC2^^ <3 SNES

  • We need this logo sound from Rare for the DKC Returns

It doesn't really belong to Rare so use it!

  • the intro should have been some nice scenes about how kaptain k. rool kidnapped DK and diddy and dixie determined to save him and all that nicestuff

  • MY FAVORITE OF ALL TIME

  • i still remember that i had this game for my GameBoy

    great times

  • the pre-title screen theme still sends chills down my spine. I remember the classic days!

  • i,ve noticed that the title donkeykong country 2 is missing, instead you only read diddy,s kong quest wich becomes part of the title, shame.

  • totally awesome

  • I came xD Nostalgia <3

  • man i loved the nest levels and the carnival ones!

  • David Wise FTW!!!

  • this is the all time favorite game in the world.

  • i hated the wind level in the forest map

  • i love it!

  • I love this!

    0:31 - 0:39 is my favorite part.

Whole koncept of this amazing game in epik win!

The pirate theme makes the game so freakin' awesome kuz i love pirates!

And the epik songs. This game is better than WoW and COD!

  • um dos melhores jogos que eu ja joguei e é conhesido pelo mundo =D

  • it took me a hell of time to find a perfect condition cartridge of this game again, worth every penny

  • I Like Dixie More Then Candy.

  • dixie should have been in dk 64 instead of tiny

  • @spartan69x2: I wanted both sisters together.

  • 0:00 - 0:10 IS. SO. EPIC!! I remember that intro from when I was a kid and it left me speechless then AND now....and then the glowing treasure chest title screen. All that win and the game DIDN'T EVEN START YET!

  • My thoughts exact. Those were the days.

  • i still know the whole intro, even though i have heard it for like 10 years

  • Best best best SNES game ever. Best soundtrack, best DK game... simply the best ;D

  • agreed

  • I loved Dixie Kong! Her helicopter spin kicked butt!

  • my god this brings memories.... almost like i wanna cry for the time that's flewn away

  • I wish Rare would work for Nintendo again... not for Microsoft goddamnit

  • I dunno but when I was a kid, the DKC series had the best BGM, I dunno that's my opinion

  • im 14 yrs old but im more of a old school gamer i prefer old games like n64 snes nes sega genesis atari and gb i just think its better than new games that are coming out

  • OMG ME TOO!

  • @killermonkeyto

im actually 10 but same here

  • @killermonkeyto ME TOO!!!!! im 10 and was born by the time of the gamecube

  • @killermonkeyto me too

    but im 9

  • @supermario9981

    same here but i'm 10

a few days ago i bought a sega genesis with sonic 2 and sonic and knuckles

  • @killermonkeyto

Monkey, games back then had to be better. Desperate times call for desperate measures. In the late 80's and early 90's Nintendo had to release phenomenal products. Today, Nintendo has amassed quite a fortune and sits comfortably.

  • @killermonkeyto YES, thank you. Someone with some taste. It's like, what would I rather do

    A. Buy a 360, pay 50 dollars for one game, and be only mildly impressed with it

    or

    B. Use the N64 I already have, pay 50 dollars for 10 games, and have fun for life.

  • @killermonkeyto The force is strong in you

  • These graphics still impress me. The SNES was such an amazing system.

  • I feel bad for the kids who are growing up with modern video games.

  • i agree.

  • im one of those kids but im not that bad about i mean not all video games are trash just 2/3s of them we still not good things warioware mario galxy new super mario bros and mario galxy 2will be amosme

  • @Jelley0 man i was born just in time :D i never really had a nintendo but the super nintendo was all i ever wanted at that time :D DK series, MK series, Super Mario World and the Bros series, Super Metroid, Super Castlevania, Killer Instinct....what more could you want!

  • @Jelley0: I'm more of a kid who loves both the old and modern.

  • @Jelley0: Meh, we'll say that about the future generation. Trust me, the nostalgia filter is frequent among humans. :]

  • @Jelley0 I grew up in between PSX and SNES

  • @Jelley0 Seriously!!! They're all just carbon copies of each other. Nothing new and interesting at all.

  • @Jelley0 I'm one of them. But I still love the old video games :)

  • @Jelley0 Im a 13 year old hardcore gamer, but Im ALL about old and nostalgica. New games are amazing, too.

  • @Jelley0 Why? Nintendo is bringing back games like this to the younger generation. I feel great for the kids growing up with modern video games. They can now make their own memories and times when they remember playing a game.

  • @Jelley0

yeah dude i played this game in year 1994. We got it from a school friend of my brother. Always when he want it back we all were really sad :( GREAT GAME!!!

  • @Jelley0 I'm 13, and I grew up with the GBA ports of the DKC games. Simply epic.

  • from mario, dk, sonic, and mortal kombat, through spyro, metal gear solid, and goldeneye, through age of empires and halo, to crysis and napoleon tw i have loved each game for a what it is, each shaped by the technology and culture of the era as well as the soundtracks and innovations. if i was alive when space invaders came out im sure i would have blown my load at that.

however i start new games with so much expectation and demands as an adult that i forget the simple joy of games like this

  • Gran parte de mi vida se inpiro en ese juego... desde los 4 años

  • Wow I never noticed it said "Diddy's Kong Quest" until now XD.

  • on the top?

  • yeah

  • Lol :P

  • q noob

  • Nah, i don't want to.

Besides, im not from the USA nor the U.K, so shut up about my way of talking

  • What are you talking about -.- It makes no fucking sence

  • Comment removed

  • Oh, really? Well, I shouldn't argue. I was only 1 year old when this came out, so I don't know alot about it, probably will LP it after I finish DKC 1!

  • Comment removed

  • No, it's correct. The game is called Donkey Kong Country 2: Diddy's Kong Quest. Watch the video. The text for the title in it is the same.

  • wait, I get it now! The plot is Diddy and Dixie go to rescue DK, which Diddy is on a Kong's quest, so I assume that's how it makes sense, right?

  • @DKCGamerGirl @cfalconforever Its even funnier because he forgot the other quotation mark on the end

  • You're maybe right, but I think they wanted to make it so that could be read in 2 ways-this, and Diddy's conquest.

  • @cfalconforever It's meant to be a pun on "Conquest"

  • @TheDruggedGamer dude, I know, I made that comment a year ago. Before I had ever played DKC2

  • @cfalconforever Yeah it sounds awkward at first, but it's a play on Diddy's Conquest -- so it's Kong Quest. Get it?

  • This game is, in my opinion, the best game ever.

    It's so much fun!

  • Excellent video.

  • You know how the SNES only needed an upgrade chip to play 32-bit graphics games? Well, Sega's Genesis nedded expensive add-ons that failed to play 32-bit games! That means the SNES is better!

  • type in virtua racing genisis. that proves that sega had a upgrade chip!

  • they are all worth another buy :)

  • What is the music from the beginning of the video? It is so familiar!

  • It's the Rare logo?

  • Aww nostalgia strikes again! =)

  • 600 points for the wii i just got it friday night.

  • 600? I got mine for 800...damn Nintendo!

  • Super Nintendo games normally cost 800 points, 900 for imports.

  • lol!

  • whats an emulator??

  • An emulators is computer software that allows you to play console games through the PC. They "emulate" the real systems and games.

  • @littlelivey12 you were that stupeed

  • @howardmckinley2 umm.... u cant even spell so shut up thanks :)

  • @littlelivey12 i MISSPELLED ON PURPOSE

  • yo man i GOTTA buy this game in wii shop channel

  • Best game.

  • best game ever, I still play it on my emulator

  • my stupid dad sold this game without asking me back in the day.. :(

i loooved it! more than the nintendo 64

  • If you have an Wii, you can buy it there with Wii points ^_^

My dad broke my entire SNES. So, when i heard that this game was going to be on the wii (Virtual console), I was superhappy!

I believe it costs 500 points

  • seriously?!

how do you get wii points?!!

  • You can buy them at certain shops.

  • i belive is free with homebrew chanel

  • You mean hacking the shop channel so you can get them free?

    That's pathetic.

  • thats be smart dude. lol

  • Man..I really want to play this now. :-(

  • You can play it on your computer with an emulator...

  • The first 10 seconds sound like something from Star Fox.

  • I Need The MIDI Of This Intro Song

    Who Has It?

  • I have it. Used Audacity to record it from the emulator. Used it for my intros to DKC2. If you want it, I can send it to you. ;)

  • Oh Really? Can U Send It 2 Me? Pls

  • Sure ;) Send me a message with your email and I'll email it to ya

  • What a mesmerizing tune to go along with such a curiously nightmarish game... I mean in a good way, like this game's graphics actually gave me nightmares. Took up a good part of my childhood.

  • The best of the DKC games but nevertheless they were all legendary but this no question was the greatest.

  • this is the best of DK Series

  • oh man DKC 1, 2, & 3 were the shit dude I love these games and DKC2 has the best intro ever! I love that music it takes me back. I use to just let the title screen play over & over....

  • WAIT.

    It's called Diddy's Kong Quest.

HOLY SHIT how didn't I see that.

  • The good old 90's games including this awesome game. Good times, gooood tiiiimes. :)

  • i totally agree

  • A friend and I started a new file on this game and we're almost done with it. I'm the one that sucks though since Diddy is my character for the first time. XD

  • Great video!!

  • Btw some parts of the DKC 2 theme has been stolen into heroes 3: might and magic.. did you know? :O

  • this is my favorite of all 3 dkc games

unfortunately i have only had the pleasure of owning DKC 1and still have it, along with my super nintendo

looking forward to finally owning this and the other 2 dkc games on virtual console!!!!!

along with mariokart 64 and zelda: the occarina of time.

    and maybe super mario 64

  • you know i had dkc for snes and gb and dkc3 for gb i want 2 but its no where where i live and ebay is a rip off espicly video games and electronics

  • You can find the whole set of 1-3 on ebay for under $5 as well as each individual one for under $3 even. ;) Just looked myself, though I already have them on my SNES.

  • I have a NES, SNES, N64 and Game Cube, I will prob get a Wii laterz :P

    SNES 'n' N64 is FTW :>

  • it is so so nice feeling to see your video. This game was my favorite before 10 years + . Thank you

  • @andrew111806 Just buy them on the VC

  • The last demo fails...dead in 5 seconds.

  • Does this bring back memories or what? :D This was always my favorite of the 3 DKCs.

  • iiii loooooooove the theme!!!!!

  • listen to the rareware music, its awesome :D

  • i alway think of this music when in peril :)

  • I can't believe I still haven't beat this game...

  • what are you stuck on something?

  • i beat this good game today! now to the 3rd one:)

  • I should really start playing this game again.

    It was lots of fun.

  • I like the Rare intro for this game.. It had the best Rare logo music out of the three games... But DKC3 kinda sucked..
