  • australians suck

  • @naveedlalkhan Shut up ya Paki bastard!

  • @Myw0nderpants you shut the fuck up australian bastard child, australia was a black island where all the illegitimate kids of the brits were dumped, go ask you father/(s), you filthy blood asshole

  • and the audience laugh when the sign on the ceiling says LAUGH, slaves.

  • Imran khan fucked white women and their men are angry and frustrated clearly jealousy expressed in this video in the form of comedy so that people couldn't get their basic theme.

  • i think i can comment on this since i am a pakistani who has spent 10 years in melbourne .. this clip is great and there is nothing racist about it

  • worth emulating.. the great Khan ...on the field ...and elsewhere... all like a Tiger :)

  • Awsome!!!!!!

  • Same here, love it!

  • im an aussie living in the UK.

I was surprised to learn that paki is a racist and derogatory term here.

It is simply an abbreviation in Australia. Indians/Sri Lankans etc aren't called pakis like all people from the sub-continent are referred to in the UK.

Having said that, some of the comments from australians on here are embarrassing. "PC gone mad" is no excuse for being insensitive or thoughtless either.

  • I still say 'like a tiger' to this day-complete with hand actions.

    Classic!

  • rofl

  • Haha, he did make love to Jane like a tiger. They have 5 kids now.

  • The nice thing about humor is that it transcends things like race, politics, and religion. It can assault any nationality, any creed, any color in the name of parody, and if it's done well (like The Late Show), there is no basis for anyone to start throwing around stupid generalisations (like the ones squared at Australians) ABOUT Australians hating certain people.

  • This was a brilliant social commentary of imran back in his womanising days. The late show was brilliant.

  • hahaha good effort ..... lolx .......... i dunno anything abt his private life but it was a nice style mimicry.

  • Let's be clear. The racist term 'Paki' is of British origin and applies to all South Asians. In Australia the term 'Paki' was (I would like to say 'is' but it looks as if we've had the term stolen by nutbags) merely a shorter form of 'Pakistani' (specifically the cricket team) in the same way that Aussie is a 'shorter' form of Australian. There was never a racially-motivated element to the use of the term 'Paki'.

  • Comment removed

  • in the end this character did actually marry janekennedy in life--like a tiger-a brunette-haha

  • Furthermore to this whole racism slur against this show, if you look at the whole series, there were more impersonation at Australian's than foreigners. For example the then Prime Minister Paul Keating, Opposition Leader John Hewson, Victorian Premier Jeff Kennett, Senator Gareth Evans. We Australian will take the piss out of anyone who is topical, whether it be Imran Khan, F W DeKlerk, Archbishop Desmond Tutu or any of the above mention.

  • @Prime4571 "Piss Weak World" is a great example of Aussies hanging shit on Aussies.. :)

  • Is one minute and fourty three seconds all that exists of this interview? I wish there were more :(

  • Rob is the chameleon of the group!

  • LIKE A TIGER

  • Congratulations on demonstrating the tolerance and humble nature of Pakistani's, who certainly would never make offensive sweeping generalisations about a group of people, unlike those damn ignorant, arrogant, poorly mannered, worst racist in the world Aussies.

  • It's obviously not a reflection on Pakistanis....

It's just a joke, about a famous figure, who is allowed to cop this by way of being famous...

Worst racist in the world? Oh, that's not a racist comment at all...

Judging a whole country by your perceived, incorrect assumptions of a comedy sketch is not only wrong, it shows an attitude of prejudice.

Come visit Australia, and we'll show you how we really are.

  • @tantryl Oh shut up

  • By posting that comment you are showing your ignorance about us clearly =]

  • Bullshit.

  • It is sad that some narrowminded people think this is racist. Good on you copsdial999 for not being offended as you shouldn't be. These guys lampooned lots of public figures in the 90's. They lampooned the person not their race or religion!! They do lampoon white Oz celebrities too. I think it is more racist to not lampoon someone cos of their race. George W Bush gets a roasting in the comedy circuit. If Obama wins the election will all political satire cease??

  • MORE!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • all you white ppl still remmber that tiger interview the final 1992 cricket world cup lolzz sure u can't forget it.after when imran said i want my team to play like tigers english captian was really scared and couldn't even play like tiger's lolz they played like dogs lolz n pakistani came out like lions

  • This video is from 1992...

  • @iioal ok, black man

  • @roxcharlie Aright while man!! win a world cup onces b4 your circket dies

  • @iioal actually I think it was the semi final where Pakistan beat Australia.

  • hay im a pakistani nd i think this video is actually very funny loll.and ya brother "phaardoongateri"we dint really beat the shit out of brits but ya we did beat them at cricket nd thats it.but its funny tho ... thnx 4 posting hu ever posted this.

  • Even after sleeping with the girls on the night of the World Cup, Imran beat the shit out of you Brits.

  • These guys are Australians.

Everyone beats the shit out of the Brits.

  • @phaardoongateri thats right you fucktards. IMRAN IS THE MAN! and he fucks brits like a tiger..

  • Again another load of crap i have read. Again as Australians we know how to laugh at ourselves as well as others. This sketch is legendary in the world of Australian humour.

People need to understand their history also not only about Australian culture but also the culture of International Cricket before they start posting negative, pathetic and comments judging our way of life.

  • right on!

  • emadkhan:

I disagree. Especially since they dumped John Howard, Aussies have shown themselves to be forward-looking and apologetic about the past treatment of aborigines.

Anyone who's looked at the body of Rob Sitch's work will see smartness and eclecticism, but no racism.

Sitch cannot speak for all Australians, but racist he's not.

  • Get a sense of humour you uptight prick!!!

  • then dont come here you paki fuck, stay in your own country

  • The people who call this racist just show how ignorant they are.

  • @Brendanvio For fucks sake I've been called a wog since I was a kid and I've "survived", people who are so politically correct they have their head up their arse need a fucking coke and a smile - Honestly you're right, people who call this racist are ignorant and just looking for a sympathy vote - Tell them to grow a fuckin pair and shut the hell up

  • how is calling somebody a "player" racist ? , the main point of this sketch is that imran khan was a womaniser not a "paki bastard" you fools are just reading too much into this

  • Paki was not a racist word in Australia at this time, I remember how surprised I was when I found out it was considered a racist slur elsewhere. Umm, it's short for Pakistan!? Like Aussie is short for Australia!? And you can't accuse these guys of being racist because they weren't, unfortunately the world has become much too sensitive and PC.

  • @mcspraycan Exactly. The racist use of the word elsewhere has destroyed it for us. It was never a term of abuse and it never had any kind of derogatory connotation. It was merely a diminutive for us.

  • @mcspraycan PC?

  • @piraliraza Yeah PC as in Politically Correct. It's shitty how the world has become PC - you can't say anything anymore without it offending somebody. Back in this time period (1992) you could say the most funniest jokes and not worry about being accused of being offensive or whatever.

  • @mcspraycan Exactly right? Saying Paki was the thing to say to anyone from Pakistan. It was never meant to sound racist - just like we say Kiwi for New Zealanders and Yanks to Americans and so on.

  • yeh so what he said paki bastard , get the fuck over it, it was made ovver a decade ago, its just ment to be funny, just watch and laugh u moronic individuals

  • HAHAHA bloody funny

  • It should be noted, insults like "stupid bastard" are considered a friendly bonding thing in Australia.

And Paki? Well, fair call. Just a bad joke from someone who at the time didn't know any Pakistanis and thought no-one would be offended by it.

Depends how sensitive you are. They made no small amount of jokes about Santo Cilauro being Italian, but Santo made most of those jokes. It's comedy, and good comedy always brushes offensive.

You want racist Aussies? Check out John Laws.

  • In the The Late Show interviews it was fairly common for Gleisner to insult whichever character Rob Sitch was impersonating, purely because it was a live-ish show and Sitch would always milk for the laugh regardless of whether he was playing cricketing legend Imran Khan or douchebag (white) politician Jeff Kennett just to snap Sitch out of it and continue with the sketch.

  • Although imran khan is a great leader....i find this video really funny haha ....

  • ... how racist!

  • Give me a break...there's no intention to insult anyone of any race, it's a comedy skit for christ's sake!

  • bhenchod!

  • he did say "paki bastard"...hmm...is it ok to be called a "paki bastard" in australia?...seems racist to me

  • lolzzzzzz..... good one. But did he say "Paki Bastard" ??
