Right, but science is the active pursuit of more accurate information in regards to explaining phenomena. If the Bible is the word of God, how can it be anything but 100% accurate, and 100% relevant? And why isn't it timeless? What possible situation could there be in which God, an omnipotent and omniscient being, is unable to convey his original message to the world in anything but perfection?

Right, but science is the active pursuit of more accurate information in regards to explaining phenomena. Such 'beliefs' as you refer to them, are quickly discarded, modified, or replaced once newer and better information or theories arrive on the scene. Furthermore, in terms of logic, there is much potential 'evidence' against even a deist god. "Occam's Razor" is definitely something you should read up on.

I feel compelled to clarify something. Using pleasure and pain as your moral guide indicates what not to do to another. In other words, never cause another intentional pain against their will. Using that guide, everything will work out. By the way, that IS in accordance with the Golden Rule, something I agree with (although the bible doesn't). After all, can anyone say that they want to be hurt against their will?

Now, of course, humans are fallible. But God MUST have accounted for that while inspiring his word. Right? If God inspired humans to record his message knowing our fallibility would lead to inaccuracies and that that would ultimately be the source of so much confusion in succeeding generations with respect to interpreting God's word, what purpose did that serve? God must have foreseen it, as he is omniscient. He must have been able to change it, as he is omnipotent. But he didn't?

Absolutely I do. If the claim is that the Bible is inerrant, and that is the claim, then it would follow that a lack of inerrancy would make Christianity untrustworthy, would it not?
If the Bible is the word of God, how can it be anything but 100% accurate, and 100% relevant? And why isn't it timeless? What possible situation could there be in which God, an omnipotent and omniscient being, is unable to convey his original message to the world in anything but perfection?
