If you were going to buy a Win, Lose, or Draw game, you would probably know what the TV show was, and the cover art was perfect for that. The game was released comptemporary with the TV show. And the board is not blank. There are things drawn on it, but the low resolution of the image makes it hard to see what. The faint grey lines prove it.

And in some cases, the box art and the cart label were different. So while a cart might not give you an impression of the game, the box would.

The paperboy art is one of the best of all time IMHO.

The John elway cover is obviously airbrushed and is a mix of several photos in one. Notice there's no shading on his face. Those aren't his hands on the controller either. I know that all canadian hockey players have mullets but not every american football player wears a mouth guard. At least unless rules

#9 Blaster Master - not bad art, I agree it doesn't show what the game is really about, but there is way worse art than that. At least it's a nice illustration on it.

#3 Iron Sword - Fabio is wack but the game cover art is pretty epic for what it's worth.
