Living in Perth must be interesting because you're really isolated. It's a small city off on the far side of the continent. Sydney is 2000 miles away. That's a 4.5 hour plane ride or 4-6 days on the ground through some lonely, desolate desert scrub. If you get stuck out there, you will die. I don't know how you do that, not when you can live in Europe and hop on any train and be in France, England, Germany, Switzerland, Sweden by morning. Catch the train or ferry & you can be anywhere overnight.

I live in the south west Region of Western Australia and frequently travel by car to the eastern cities! so i can say that the highway doe not go though a desert( it just unpopulated it some parts)! and there are also lots of towns along the way! and no you do not die if your car brakes! since the highway is so frequently use you be able to be pick up in no time! Perth is just far away from the Eastern cities.

What they don't understand is that Australia is filled with danger. Sharks, crocodiles, spiders, scorpions, deadly snakes and some of the largest, driest deserts in the world. The don't prepare enough because they don't realize how incredibly dangerous it is. That part isn't in the brochure.
