Hey, I looked up what quid and bob mean, and now I understand! When he says 30 bob, 2 quid for the pair of you. 30 bob is 1.5 quid, so 2 quid for the pair is a deal. 1 bob==1 shilling. 20 shillings==1 pound==1 quid. a bob was was like 5 "cents"--1/20th of a pound.
yeah...he also was in a nun costume (kinda) in "And Now for Something Completely different...was unclear there if he really was supposed to be a woman, too...
I wish we had comedy like this on TV now. It's much better than the endless "reality" shows that we see.
