To me, this is more of a comment about the ridiculousness of commercials as well as the silly rush to buy toys that are popular to share in that popularity.

Every year, there is some ridiculous fad toy that every parent just HAS to buy their kid for christmas. And there's always kids who will jump on every fad and emulate it.

This spoof commercial just goes at a more ridiculous extreme. :)
