  • If you look at Lee's left hand, he was a lot like Dustin Johnson today. He started his backswing by setting an immediate strong bow in his left wrist, then he held it very tight and ripped his body through the shot. Very effective. He could put incredible spin on the ball, and although he preferred a fade, he could draw the ball easily. He was an amazing artist with the short irons.

  • @blackkow87 Agreed. Only in rare years where the weather is really really bad is the british harder than the US Open.

  • He must have the best timing and hand-eye coordination in history with that swing..Amazing, it looks like the swing of an average joe at any old golf course. HUGE head dip..

  • thats my cousin

  • talent

  • the 18th at st.andrews must have looked like deer meat for trevino, from the tee box.

  • his swing is worse than jim furyks

  • @mrmarcgolf and lee was one on the purest flighters of the ball mate, solid contact regardless of what it looks like.

  • I will recognize the proper name IS The Open but I wish everyone would stop being so hardcore about it. I could care less mostly if someone calls is The B.O. or calls The US Open "The Open." Bah big deal. Americans do that (the latter) because it is "their big Open." I do wonder if The Open Championship is undervalued by a lot of people in N.A. I presume anyone who can appreciate the history, the course design, and isn't overly patriotic should "get it" though.

  • are you retarded?

  • He was playing here with Doug Sanders, final round, 1970 Open, about to witness the most awful miss in Open history. He supported Doug all the way, incidentally.

  • Congrats to another yank winning the "British Open", the best of the Open championships, thanks Brits.

  • i wish the yanks would stop calling it the fucking BRITISH Open....it's THE OPEN , in fact it's THE OPEN CHAMPIONSHIPS, the oldest, best and most prestigeous of all the majors so treat it with respect and call it by it's PROPER FUCKING NAME !!!........breathe.......breathe

  • haha....im american and ive always called it the open championship...then again im a professional so i guess im supposed to have respect for the games heritage haha....at any rate....well said my Limey buddy

  • @CarolinasPGApro huh?? stfu

  • @unclenewy hardly the best toolbag, way too much luck involved. that's why there are so many underdog victories at the british cause it's a lot of luck. and don't kid yourself, the masters is way above the british as far as the magnitude of a victory goes.

  • @mattyco1234 Dont agree at all. The Open is the ultimate. Masters and US Open not far behind. But THE Open is the biggest golf tournament there is.....also the toughest test of golf played on the oldest, naturally toughest courses where golf began. As a spectacle \i enjoy the Masters best

  • @cockywatchman1976 the rank....amongst pro's

    1) Masters

    2) US Open

    3) British

    4) PGA

  • @golfmaniac007 For Americans maybe. (I Take it your US, as we call The Open, The Open, not The Britsh!). I'd say for Europeans it's 1.The Open 2.The Masters 3.The Open 4.PGA (FAR BEHIND!).

If I was a pro I think Id see The Open, US Open and Masters as all pretty equal. But you can't dispute The Open has the history and some would say best courses. The Masters can be a bit of a putting comp, but Augusta is special. The US Open is the toughest challenge. The PGA is just a major in name

  • @unclenewy well said sir, ignorant cunts aren't they, haha

  • Just goes to show folks, "its not how, its how many" too many people smother talent by over coaching.

  • Arnie's swing was pretty ugly, too.

Yesterday I was watching the women's Open, and Johnny Miller was pointing out that Trevino had the same kind of head dip at impact that Paula Creamer and Natalie Gulbis have (not as pronounced as theirs, especially Gulbis'). He mentioned that Byron Nelson also had a bit of a head dip. What did they all have in common? Straight shots. Miller wasn't really advocating the head dip -- just pointing out that it has worked well for several players.

  • the uglyest swing of any great golfer by miles

  • but the best personality of any golfer of all times

  • It's good where it matters though. If you had any idea what you were talking about you wouldn't post such a STUPID remark. Nicklaus stated on many occasions Trevino had the best action of any player he'd ever seen...I'd take Jack's opinion rather than yours, dick!

  • i say to you read what people post before you use your sissy fingers to type names safe behind a computer..i might get challenge you to go a few rounds not on the golf course but in the RING BEANER PUNK

  • true- funny how a really good player never calls Trevino's swing ugly... rather it's usually the opposite...

  • hes like the thrid or 4rth best ball striker that ever lived

  • Yeah, he is. Also - to huntersingle - if you're going to be a total asshole, at least learn to spell. "Ugliest", not "uglyest"
