It makes little sense because he draws the triangle out of order. The finished thing is supposed to be a 2d representation of an impossible 3d shape. It is kind of like someone drawing a 3d cube but instead of drawing two 2d squares then connecting them he draws it one random line at a time. In the end you don't know what it is but if you take a second to look at it you realised it is a cube.
