  • Excellent, can you get the full DVD from anywhere.

only issue was the "drumming" half way through the video

  • haha yep religions... cults even

  • LOL 1:06+

WHAT THE ACTUAL FUCK ROFL? practicing blow job?

  • WHAT IS THAT INFERNAL TAPPING!?

  • @mewarmor990 radio waves most likely from a cell phone

  • ufc hasen`t evolved that much since 1998..the striking is bad with very few exceptions and the grappling/wrestling is about the same. Its not like they are superman submisson grapplers these days compared to ten years ago.The best way to beat a grappler/wrestler is like Shamrock says to use angels and always be concentrated on the movements to the grappler. There is one boxer that comes to my mind and thats Muhammad Ali.Ali would do great with his style in mma as long as he trained for it.

  • @jerven200 Since 98?Like when Tank Abbot was still one of the toughest guys? And when a 1dimensional fighter named Tito Ortiz was able to outwrestle people and hold them down and beat on them for a while?Sorry, the guys from that era would beat the guys from the first UFCs without breaking a sweat. But the fighters now would mangle the fighters from the turn of the century.Much of the striking is very solid, the submission game is light years beyond those early years. You're a boxing fan.I can tell.

  • @ohwowlookout,

I don't know what your talking about. If your talking about sport only then I would agree that fighters now have better medical support and have more practice in the ironed out rules of the sport. As for fighting itself I think your as far off as you can be. I don't think you understand the merit of martial arts period for what you are implying in your post. I am under the impression that you are following the hype.

  • @Ryukikon

I won't get into "sport vs. reality" arguments with TMAers. It's a pointless argument because they're so filled with faith in their "Art" that they can't be reasoned with. So if this is you, please let me know so I can save my time. If you can, however, listen to reason and not cloud your conversation with "mystique", then I'm open for the discussion.

  • @ohwowlookout

Honestly I do not even know what TMAers is so please enlighten me. Further I am not talking about mystique. I am being reasonable and which is why I made the argument that many people are just following hypes or ignorant. Things progress a way for a reason. However many people do not look at that and make bold statements. Which creates lots of confusion. Just like how sport and combat martial arts are vastly confused for the great many in the public.

  • @ohwowlookout depends on what you mean by traditional martial arts, since boxing, wrestling, muay thai and jujutsu are all traditional martial arts. aikido, judo, and most kung fu and karate schools are modern martial arts. so what MMA has proven is that the oldest arts are the best and most effective.

  • @pacificimporters boxing and wrestling are not martial arts, they are combat techniques and/or sports. martial arts involves intellectual, spiritual and emotional techniques, as well as principles which are applied to all situations in combat. boxing, for example, is just a technique for hand striking. It does not involve spiritual teachings, nor does it have universal principles to address combat in different positions ("standing" vs "ground").

  • @neutrino78x jujutsu began that way, it only became a sport in the modern age, with judo and BJJ. it originally was designed to be as practical as boxing and wrestling, it was pure "jutsu" and not "do" yet, with zero spiritual benefits.

  • @pacificimporters well, jujitsu, the real jujitsu, as opposed to MMA, is a real martial art. I'm saying that boxing and wrestling are not martial arts. They are just combat techniques which are also used as sports. Real martial arts are practical, but they are more than just practical self defense techniques. They are ways of life, philosophies, religions.

  • @neutrino78x Boxers spend their life practicing and training boxing. Eating healthy, road work, conditioning, discipline. There's a philosophy behind it, same thing for wrestling. Just because they don't have belts or GIs doesn't mean anything. It's a way of life also. Anything that makes BJJ, or any martial art a martial art is applicable to wrestling and boxing/kickboxing/Muay Thai...

  • @dannielpreto okay what's the philosophy behind boxing? for example the philosophy behind kung fu is Buddhism, especially Shaolin Buddhism. merriam-webster (m-w.com) says that boxing is "the art of attack and defense with the fists practiced as a sport". Doesn't sound like a martial art to me. I mean, WC has boxing within it, but if you just know the boxing moves, you don't know WC. Same with TKD.

  • @neutrino78x Philosophy is not necessarily a religious thing. “He who knows others is wise. He who knows himself is enlightened.”~ Lao Tzu. That's the philosophy of boxing, it's knowing yourself and your body. Creating a mean of self expression, and self cultivation. The realization of moving beyond the limits we set for ourselves ultimately leads to self awareness. How the body moves, how it reacts, how we deal with pressure, what beaks us mentally and physically. That's boxing, self awareness.

  • @dannielpreto hmm I guess. like I said, to me, "boxing" means "striking with your fists", which could be anything from Western Boxing to Wing Chun...most martial arts use Boxing in one form or another. So from that perspective western boxing is either a sport or a western fighting technique, depending on how you look at it. I wouldn't call it a martial art in the sense that Jeet Kune Do is a martial art.

  • @jerven200,

UFC fighters are skilled at Grappling and there is a difference between Grappling and wrestling. Boxers have a weakness when it comes to below the torso, I am very sorry but this has been common knowledge for years and everyone knows that they are at a huge disadvantage when approached for the grapple, which Fighters do get clinched. It does depend on the fighter, as Boxing is a great martial art however insulting another sport is folly. Sport is sport.

  • 3 years of high school wrestling just got shit on.

  • Thank you. :)

  • wing chun gung foo!

  • I think he could avoid your takedowns and teach anyone else how to avoid your takedowns,

  • @billingswayne Shamrock was a beast for a long time in Japan before he came to the UFC for a reason. forshigadee

  • Frank is a professional fighter he is good at all aspects of fighting, I doubt you have ever even been in a fight to even say the dum ass things you say. PEdreo Mariano2. if you had been or even been in a contact sport you wouldnt be such an ignorant ass

  • GAY!

  • Cung Le beat him too right?

  • f*cking noise

  • did he say that guy was called kelly?

  • Renzo Gracie is a very

    good fighter

    everybody can make mistake !

  • Renzo Gracie took him down with ease 4 to 5 times in only 1 round and a half!! He REALLY shouldn't be doing instructionals on something he isn't good!!

  • He spelled it "grabing," that's pretty bad.

  • YEAH RIGHT!!! We all saw how good at avoiding take downs Frank is in that fight against Renzo Gracie! LOL It must be very simple to avoid them!!!

  • Gracie is kinda above average in takedowns.

  • I agree, but I also think that Frank is not all that when it comes to avoiding take downs!!

  • He's better at the standup grappling game than the majority of Gracies.

Though I'll admit, the seminar I attended by Royler was absolutely amazing in the standup area

  • That's so great to know; thanks!

  • Renzo isn't that dominant at takedowns others have defended his takedowns well, also there are people out there who are more skilled than him in the takedown game, Renzo is an awsome grappler though.

  • frank done running from tito yet? it's been almsot 15 years

  • i mean vitor

  • LOL at the shamrock punching icon that comes up

  • frank does steroids?

  • frank was an animal in his time...did u c how he played tito like a drum and kept his title? hes a 5x champ...u aint a 5x champ unless ur the shit

  • Heaps of people make it look like Jiu Jutsu is invincible - just search "jiu jutsu vs" on youtube and you'll see

Hopefully integrating these techniques will help make a 'striking' art more effective

    Thanx for uploading!

  • um.... welcome to 5 years ago lol. No pure grappling practictioner has been successful for years

  • @ambertch

While this is true, no pure striker has been successful when pure grappling was around.

  • I'd like to see frank against an a good Brazilian grappler... tap, tap.

  • you can. he started quite a contraversy in the early ufc

  • Against who? who did he fight? ...maurilo bustamante? mario sperry? ...he fought allen goes once and had a hard time w/ him.

  • He fought several good brazilian grapplers.

  • WHO?

  • Renzo,Cesar, Allen Goes

  • While comparing records, have you seen the impressive OFFICIAL right record of the invincible Rickson Gracie? (Said with dripping sarcasm) Most of his opponents have losing records, Funkai the only one to write home about. Does this mean he is chopped liver simply because his opponents haven't been the absolute best?

  • bas rutten can smash him.

  • he should've used his own advice against Renzo

  • aww man i was expecting kelly to be a hot bitch and then that gorilla walks into camera view :(

  • ...you can spend your life watching videos like this...but it will not amount to one solid year of training in a decent dojo.

  • ok well clearly you watched this video too. or you waste your time telling ppl not to watch videos, ive been doing mma for 2 years, boxing for about 9. Had over 10 fights + plenty street fights and watching theses videos -->IF<-- you also practice them with a partner is nothing but helpful!! BUT yes ppl, your better off geting taught at a gym, if you dont have gym money, just watch these vids and practice with someone who has some martial art experience, even if its just wrestling!

  • Punching Shamrock icon is gay

  • why is there a retarded drummer in the background noise??

  • that fucking tapping noise is gay

  • my Jeet kune Do class teaches these avoidance moves.

  • eww i pity his opponents before. they must be constantly humped and felt on the ground.

  • He's tech of gett'g out of line of attack is similar to wing chun in that vein, however, more likely in wing chun we would match his guard position (parallel) and do a side-step (T-step) which is easier to get out of the line of attack, our body is now in better position to reach and trap elbow and strike attackers neck.

  • You motherfuckers all seem real smart. Do any of you actually do MMA? What is your opinion of CSW?

  • whats that fucking noise?

  • Why couldn't he do this against Renzo?

  • Frank couldn't avoid Renzo's takedown.... Maybe he should watch this

  • frank shamrock's real name is Frank Juarez, he was one of ken shamrock's orgional studnets and first stand out from lion's den to make it to ufc.

  • 1. mma is now basically a fad oriented system. what's cool now won't be cool in 3 yrs. right now Bjj isnt as popular but that doesnt mean, not effective. many, many fights are fought through the ground game brought by bjj. Now mma is just a sad boxing match. I can't wait for the next new thing, hoping it gets smarter.

  • 1) WTF is a "Piece of Impact?" 2) I just found out that here in texas, you have to be certified to fight MMA by a certified MMA trainer. In other words, there will be no more evolution, just like boxing. It will continue to be Muy Thai/Kickboxing and BJJ/Wrestling. There may be improvements, but nothing like when BJJ was brought in and blew everyone away. SAD!

  • Funny, WC guys were sent home after winning bouts. They were promoting bjj at the beginning and even though they won, they were sent home; amazing. TV MMA has the most publicity, that's what is seen, so schools take advantage of this and offer the usual bjj & MT.this is what perpetuates the usual

  • where did you hear this? Is this something you can confirm with a third party, or just something a sifu once said in class with no proof?

  • No, you could actually visit the school and see the contracts yourself. There was a Team WC to face Team Gracie set up via Trump and Don King as well; never happened, not because of Team WC. However, I do study Muay Thai & bjj, so I'm not just hear promoting WC only. I enjoy all these arts, I know WC has gotten a bad rap because they can't compete w/advertising MT & bjj get, etc.., plus ain't a lot of TWC schools around

  • his a gay lol

  • I know Ken Shamrock is adopted, and this guy looks just like him. They have to be related.

  • BASS RUTEN KICKED HIS ASS MUAHAH

  • 1. when someone gets low, and looks like they are going to take you down, they probably are. 2. If they try to take you down, get out of the way. There. Saved 8 minutes.

  • WTF is that NOISE?

  • that fucking drum noise is annoying

  • LOL he rub his ball up against his thigh lol yo you cant fake that shit lol he did it with a serius look

  • it wasn't a sprinkler, it was clearly the cameraman fapping

  • um, why can I hear a sprinkler moving in the background?

  • This is why stomps and soccer kicks to people on the floor are good. It keeps people from lying down.

  • yeah he did get sum gd action as 3:00 lol

i agree with ninjafemale...was a bit different in the origional ufc's though....wen only Royce new jujitsu

  • hehe yeah somtimes i don't like to watch ufc, because it ends up as two sweaty men laying on the floor for 10 minutes.

  • you like it eh

  • LOL i agree

  • Only becouse you dont understand the art of ground game. Jiu-Jitsu is prime for all mma fighters. 95% of all fights end up on the ground. Think on it.

    -Jacob-

  • what a load of shit. bet you 100$ you can't find any actual research that shows that bullshit figure to be true.. brazilian / gracie jujutsu is just a rip off of judo to make the gracie family more money by deceiving nutriders.

  • Paradoxbox1, you're quite ignorant: Judo focuses more on the throwing aspect than the ground game, BJJ/GJJ is the other way around, furthermore: BJJ has proven its worth in UFC, Pride etc.

Kissxthexchef: Actually the (wrong) statistics say 90%, but a guy on Bullshido analyzed roughly 100 fighting matches and concluded that only about 40% of fights end up on the ground. (still a high enough number to crosstrain in BJJ)

  • I think it's at least 100% tbh

  • some takedowns are humps =)

  • at 3:00 min hump hump

  • did u see ken hump his leg

  • i dont see anyone named Ken in this video...

  • I don't see anyone named Ken in this video...

  • Its Frank shamrock not Ken

  • He is a fit girl...to frankie boy

  • lol, i gotta laugh when he said kelly i was expecting a fit girl
