Um...rips off? Jeff Connolly did so many covers--which he paid royalties to record--and educated so many people...he's the last guy you could accuse of ripping people off. He may have boffed your girlfriend--in fact, he probably did--but he took pains to name the artists he really loved. If you think Connolly "made his name" ripping off anyone, you live in a small world. His name is only known to a small cadre of devoted fans. You don't like what he does? Fine. But don't spread BS about him.

Saw the Lyres Feb '08 they were damn good. Don't really know what yer problem is if you don't like 'em but why don't you come clean and tell us the REAL STORY behind your disdain...are you disgruntled or somethin? LOL

Sounds like you have a personal issue with Jeff...which is understandable. But your grudge shouldnt carry over to his music which is nothing if not inspired.

ORIGINAL music, eh? Is there such a thing?! Stockhausen, now he was ORIGINAL. Do you mean you make sounds like no one else has ever made or heard before? I doubt it! Are your tunes, if you write them, unlike any other tunes ever written?
Seriously, though, "She Pays The Rent" is one hell of an awesome tune - and one of Connolly's own, too, I believe.
Jeff Connolly, along with Greg Shaw, etc., passed on knowledge about ancient discs and educated people.

Okay, so he's knocking on a bit, but be fair: he was reviving this sort stuff (in the DMZ and The Lyres) way before any of this sorta stuff was re-released on the Euro-beat comps of the mid to late-80s. As with The Cramps, many people got to know about The Outsiders, The Eyes and the rest, through Jeff Connolly.
So, fregazoidiac, what's your grate contribution to music history, buddy?!
