my cousin was on the 89th floor, we didn't find out she was ok until almost a week after the attacks. She went down the stairs with two of her friends, they all three were holding hands, but one of them somehow was displaced, and she never made it out. I think that there were a lot of factors that worked against all those people working in the tours as well as the rescue workers.
1. They probably did not have a good evacuation plan.
2. There was bad or no communication between rescue workers.
3. Most people were injured or out of shape and could not descend the stairs.

I was in fifth grade when this happened and had no idea what everyone was so somber about. Then they took the older kids into a hallway and talked to us and let us watch the news report. I think being so young really detached me but seeing this really reminds me that there were people in those towers who were scared and crying and who expected to be with their families when they got off work but never did.

my cousin was on the 89th floor, we didn't find out she was ok until almost a week after the attacks. She went down the stairs with two of her friends, they all three were holding hands, but one of them somehow was displaced, and she never made it out. My cousin is lucky, but she will never be the same.
