  • can u r any 1 else put 1 n a 597

  • @rjreid1958 I wish I knew how the Rem 597 triger could be upgraded. I just have not looked at one appart.

  • it probably take 5 minutes to mod the factory bolt release.

  • i'm curious, why would volquartsen sell springs that could cause light strikes and other dangerous conditions ? That seems like a really bad way to run a business. YOu've given me pause, but I am confused as to why a high end product co. would put out something dangerous....

  • @sonick808 They are not dangerous they are for competition and not field use.

  • after 40 bricks of shells my stock trigger breaks and has less trigger pull than any aftermarket "kit" you can buy.......

  • @backwoodsctryboy The only purpose in installing any parts to a trigger is to speed up the fitting and pollishing process of the trigger group. Often it will happen on its own given good initial fit and quality parts. Often parts are out of spec and trigger still has problems even after breakin.

  • I have read most of the descriptions for "Volquartsen" hammer kits around the same price and they all say they reduce it down to approx 2.5 lbs but yours didn't drop down nearly as much. Did yours advertise 2.5 lbs as well? I'm looking on midwayusa

  • @StandardAI I didn't install the Vol. springs and the plunger spring has to be installed in order to drop the lbs. to 2.5. I kept the stock springs in to error on the side of reliability with the widest ranges of ammo and conditions.

  • Did you use the new spring your hammer came with or just reused your factory spring?

  • @dirtyminded604 I used the stock springs. They reduce the risk of primer light strikes and trigger not resetting.

  • What scope is that?

  • @0akabigtuna0 I think that one has a Vortex Viper 2x7.

  • With the new Volq spring...what would the trigger be like?

  • @aaadream It would be lighter, but it could be more prone to light strikes and be more prone to having the return plunger getting stuck and not resetting the trigger. I am making a survival rifle go anywhere do anything, if it was a range or pinker the springs would go in and I would keep it in pristine condition. There is always going to be a compromise when you choose reliability over pure performance. Think of it this way it is a 4x4 hot rod truck not a Ferrari.

  • Why didn't you show the installation? We want show and tell lol.

  • @artemerysr I can not talk, work efficeintly, and keep it all in frame. I need a camera operator that would rock. I will try that in the future. I have to learn how to edit vid too...
