  • Wow, I'm really the only one to comment on this in over a year?... alrighty then!

Fantastic, fantastic, fantastic. I saw tis years ago and have been hugely influenced by it. Great work, and thank you for helping me shape my craft :)

  • Love it.

    -Matt

  • That was really good! I am probably gonna have nightmares now unless I find something funny to watch.

  • wow its cool, very nice

  • Very cool! Good job!

  • Okay, enough of this short film crap. You need to go pro, my friend! ^o^

  • pretty good...!

  • well done, it reminded me a bit of the TV show Dexter somehow.

  • great job its awesome!!!

  • Havwe you sent this out to festivals?

  • wow

    good job man

    i really liked it.

  • lmao wow

  • Thanks for the Raymond Scott

  • ...hahahahaahaaaa...

  • Thouroughly enjoyed this.. if i had the money id make this into a longer movie for theatres.. the comedy is just great, the score is great, i absolutely loved it!! Oscar.. u did great too!!! nobody else came close.. ur narrating voice was perfect

  • Serious, and yet not so serious...I love it. :D

I think Oscar should consider this: Is he the murderer for giving them what they wanted, are did they kill themselves for becoming addicted?

  • You guys are visionaries... you opened a whole new door to dark comedy and had some graet photagraphy and vidio quality for a low budget thing... Congrats and keep it up! I expect to see more like this in the near future

  • what were u smokin and where can i get some?

  • Nice work, a well put together piece

  • Dude Please dont smoke!(You were smoking in the behind the scenes video!) Smoking kills 125,000 WOMEN ALONE every year. It kills millions of people around the world. And Also, Whats the music?

  • Lol....

    6:18..

    you like sock puppets?

  • Good Job. Inspiring to see this kind of quality on a limited budget. Gives me hope that when I finally take the plunge and try to produce something it can have substance and quality.

  • very well done !, enjoyed it immensely , clever, dark and funny :)

    congrats, 5 stars

  • Fisrt rate production.

  • Just Excellent (and my first comment on youtube! after hundreds of videos watched)

  • the best short after the "black button" i saw in you tube. The girl's acting is one of the worst I've ever seen (ok, maybe not worse than Sofia Coppola's performances...), the main character acting is fair to good. The story is very original and thought provoking, and the shots and angles are very nice. Excellent job guys!

  • ...and I must add, nice editing and photography!

  • good message.. ... needs more sock puppets. :P

  • freakin amazing video

check our site our guys we tr to make film videos but no where near as good as this!!

  • Brilliant!!!!

  • maybe u should give this to a TV station and make more u will be wealthier than ever

  • I've watched this vid more than 100 times. its brilliant!!!

  • on second thought... Television Show fails miserably. it made me think.

  • ....um, let me galavant in red-neck-ed joy FUCK YEAH!

  • every person who discredits videos like there for having awsome intro credit effects needs to relax. If you discredit this you are practically a veiwer of "the television show"

please. by all means take your time to absorb this. I watch andy milonakis and jackass sometimes. yeah, I enjoy good comedy, when it's not pure retard (watch some carl sagan please)

  • This gets my "best messages of youtube" video award.

the cinematography was beautiful. this could have been produced for one-hundred-thousand-dollers!

  • matt- ironicly, you have provoked with this cleverly disguised show to make people think. you've got it.

  • this is the coolest thing i have ever seen

  • Absolutely precious!

  • I've seen shorter movies than this (4-5 minutes) by some professional directors who PUT credits in the beginning AND they were even longer than those here. Would you diss those short movies too?

  • That's less then 7% and the fact that you are 100% ignorant I end this conversation

  • You have no right to say that last sentence until you've seen the video or know the people who made it.

  • I's actually a short movie and as such it deserves some credits. You judge before you even see what's it about. Go figure.

  • Clips like that are nonsense, I agree, but this one has credits reasonably long (short) - just about 50 seconds and IMHO not overdone at all.

  • You didn't even see it (quoting you: "I closed the page at about 10 seconds") so what are you talking about?

  • lmao sock puppets

  • wtf

  • this is not funny at all

  • get a brain

  • my fav part is at 8:15.

the way the guy to very left is going nuts is so hilariously acted.

  • Bahahaha. You're ignorant and it's funny.

  • holy fucking crap..... your awesome!

  • nice. Their heads blowing up was really funny.

  • Great job!

  • OH! WOW!! that was kinda creepy BUT it was every good editing and acting and great story line! IT was very professional... You are gonna be great one day!!!!

  • awesome work my friend...your talented dude.

  • I love ow its made like a movie..professional ;) well done :D

  • I loved it. much more entertaining than... um... not tacos?

  • shoot all televisions to smithelines!!!

  • is not the tv show, is the money. no money no tv

  • brilliant!!!!

  • Good job. Nice and easy, entertaining.

  • That was good work, there. Some of the acting wasn't very good, the head blowing up thing wasn't a very good effect, and the part where she had her hand on his face and then shoved him away didn't really look like it was her arm. Otherwise, I really enjoyed it. Nice work. :)

  • i love all the static and jagged edges. evocative strange and moving. this is a masterpiece!! take care Matt. Congrats on being featured!! : ) take care, Lily

  • fantastic! i wish i could do somthing like that.... i'm still looking for what im good at! :(:P xx keep up the good work!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • No words... just... great, great work here!

  • Well done, excellent use of dolly shots and too many dutch angles

  • Awsome Matt. If thats u on the Video

    Ur a Awsome Actor

  • that as WAYYY to good to be on youtube!

  • i really liked it. the camera angles, the added dark humor, the sock puppets...it was freaky but fictional enough that it was funny. good job.

  • ok...5/5

  • you were a Geek! Big dirence between a Geek and a nured! A Geek in school was a girl or boy that was so smart! As a jok I never ever picked on Geeks. I knew some day they would be my boss. Real life it worked out! Tust me if your a kid big and bad take care of the Geeks. Later in life they may give you a job!

  • Audio sucks balls though.

  • Some hella sick shots.

  • very intresting genuis in a way but i dont see comedy in it. so are you portraying T.V. and how it brainwashes or what? and is that lisp real? lol but all in all good job dude

  • trés bien, je l'aime!!! mais... Il faut d'être plus comment amusé.

  • Great movie making, but i didn't find it funny, but the quality was good. 3/5

  • I actually watched the whole thing so that's saying something, but all in all not that great of a short.

  • Isn't it funny how saying "that's saying something" is the same as saying nothing whatsoever?

  • sorry, you're right I shouldn't be so negative. It was awsome.

  • Nice direction, nice camera work, but the most of the acting is /meh/.

  • They aren't pros. They're just pals of mine.

  • Hi, I want to say to you that i like this vid! It is Amazing!

I've seen another amazing vid today:

    youtube. com/watch?v=Nh2E5OEQVZA

    From Montreal,Quebec,Canada

  • I really love it. Well done matt, nice. ;)

Amazing directing, camera angles, etc.. :D music choice too

  • Nice one Matt! When's Boinky going to get a develoopment deal?

  • This is the shitist movie i have ever seen in the shit world of shitness, only jkin it brilliant.

  • I will say this was well done BUT its not as funny as it is entertaining so i think it should be in a different category.

  • Not bad. I little weird but good.

  • That. Was weird.

    Brilliant, but weird.

    Me Like... *drool*

    =D

  • man, that was actually so good.

    great directing and great editing.

    good job.

  • amazing directing, love it.

  • I loved it

  • GREAT VIDEO!!!! very professional. i loved it!

  • haha i loved it.Really awesome.

  • very nice. you did make them really seem like retards. good job.

  • Great job, paramount should use you at ST11 to get more "darker" movie.

  • very nice, scared me, but good job.

  • youve got a serious imagination man great movie

  • why is the guy who made this film hopelessly defending his creation? Matt, you have nothing to prove to people who don't appreciate this peice. Out of all the videos on Youtube, this one is as close to "professional" as possible. You did notice that 90% of the people commenting liked it. Anyone with taste and sense knows that this video is good. So, mad props Matt. Don't worry about the haters; they will be around no matter how good your videos are.

  • I didn't think I was defending the movie. If they wanna hate, let 'em hate. My only intention was to mock the individual making the ignorant comment, and call out their BS for all to see. Good clean fun.

Anyway, thanks for watching, and I'm glad you're smart enough to enjoy it.

  • Say, that little musical number that kicks in around 3:40 - What's that called?

  • "Powerhouse" by Raymond Scott.

  • well done.

  • !!! "And blackend every screen on campus.." Right then my screen saver (blank screen) kicked in and scared the living $h** out of me. lol, good job! :) excellent work.

  • really good video

  • Hey, I really really liked this production. Everything about it was great... with the exception of Annie's horrible acting... and the great but horrific sounds of people's head's exploding! haha... Keep up the good work!

  • no i dont....why did you pull the plug???? lol!!

  • OMG this is well scary but really good, pleasedo another one like it!

  • Now you understand why I pulled the plug on my TV years ago!

  • interesting!

  • hi,

how did you upload a 13 min video?

  • diredtor

  • Recreate Annie with a sock puppet head

  • So creepy, but very well-done. I can't say I've ever seen this type of vdieo here on YouTube. Great job, and I hope you guys do more of these!

  • this is some scary shit!

  • Very funny, but yet you kept it some what serious, keep it up!

  • I am sorry. That comment was not meant for you. I replied to a MR. Fluffyumpkins (around page 10). I was telling him he is an elitist bitch for being so critical of your film. I was telling him he couldn't make a film as good as yours. I was telling him that although I didn't so much like your movie, I still saw how well you made it and that he couldn't even come close to doing as good a job.

  • Oh. Crap. Well then, you may heretofore refer to me as Captain Douchebag.

  • this is so funny... a little bit scary but funny=]

  • Wow - impressive - funny but also quite serious - reminds me a bit of Mash genre. Keep working/playing

  • this is so god damn exagerated!yeah that's true tv is really bad and it can make us brain tumor and shit like that, but not blow with your head or any of those shits! well whatever..! great video though..

    love**

  • psycho :-) nice

  • con-gra-tu=la-tions

    so much for reality TV

  • woah, that was awesome. Eighteen point one one one cookies for you!

  • 'complete and utter retarded entertainment'

    Excellent video!

And LOL AT THE EXPLODING HEAT AND STAPLING THE GUYS FOREHEAD!

And LOL @ the gibbing sound effects when the grid goes down!

  • Our family bought a 69" widescreen in wall projection TV with a 4 grand sound system and a 1500 watt sub. I watch TV about 2 hours a month, and probably 8 or 9 movies a year.

I am building a laser out of a DVD drive, electrolysing table salt to make some salutes, and various other projects.

  • I embrace the message content. My friend's 3 boys, 6,9 and 12, don't have a TV. They're among the most resourceful, creative, social, sharp-minded and healthy kids you'll ever meet. They invent stimuli out of what they find. Boredom isn't in their vocabulary.

  • That's really pleasing to hear. Glad to know there's still hope out there.

But then again, TV's over saturation turned me into the cynical bastard I am today. And for that, I'm, dare I say... grateful.

  • Freaky as HELL but I loved it. Very well done, great job!

  • I love it. Plain and simple.

  • Wow. You people have some cinematography skills... great color schemes. Great movie. I too think you should put together t-shirts.

  • That was cool.

  • email me the end cause I fell asleep watchin this crap. Uh nice "production" I guess...but funny? Hells naw...not even on SNL.

  • Nicely done, Matt! The script, sound, editing, music track, and the voice over... all terrific commentary. I don't have a TV anymore, and don't care to own one (I've never found that I've 'missed' anything except a good ball game). Actually, I remember Frank Zappa turned me on to that whole concept many moons ago. Hey Royal dude... sorry, but you're off in a corner somewhere. Why the race card? This isn't race comedy, it's culture comedy. Where can I get a "Television Show" tee-shirt?

  • Umm I don't know what yall were watchin but this mess was WACK!!! Maybe it's white comedy but it sucked for me.

  • yeah...when the internet goes down it feels like my head can explode

  • thats like some twilight zone shnit.

  • This movie is intrguing, I had my eyes glued to the screen. What freaks me out is that this video will probably be something like Oscar's Television Show, it's rather addictive.

  • Nice work Matt. Brings back some memories of my brief stint at Rockport. Long live Shukitus!

    - Jerry Ellis

  • that's kinda freaky

  • Wow thats great! Realy nice!

Hey check out my vid "a nerds wish"

  • wow, this is genius...I am just now getting a Youtube account, just now really discovering this forum of incredible freedom. It's videos like Matt's, thought-provoking, that make Youtube worthwhile...at the same time, it's almost contradictive.

  • exactly, thought-provoking AND addictive...[deep voice]: "One should manage one's YouTube time.."

  • oh ya like thats real

  • I don't appreciate your sarcasm. I stand by my claim that this is a documentary and everything you see on screen actually happened.

  • LOL...another nice little scary story to add to Terror Tract!!!

  • amagad

  • Great Job Matt!! I loved Annie Too!!

  • super:))

  • You are one talented little sob. Loved it.

  • Good morning, Matt. While I really liked the video, I admit to missing the 'stapler on window'. Perhaps full screen viewing might have helped. 12:33 too long? Nurse, more ritalin, stat!

  • Let's be honest, Fluffy. If Matt hadn't cut the scene with the baby eating the pickle, you wouldn't be having this conversation.

  • The baby has a genuine talent for being entertaining. Too bad we can't say the same for Matt. Fail.

  • It's called being easily pleased. Yes, it's a pity that Matt wasn't willing to pander and win your blind approval, as it's a secret ambition for all of us on YouTube to impress Fluffyumpkins. It's that kind of restraint that puts Matt above people like myself, who've made a mantra out of "More pickles!"

  • Well if Matt wasn't trying to win approval, then why on earth post a video on Youtube to begin with? I'd love to waste time crawling through the 'favorites' of a stranger, but rather than jab at that, I'll end with a thought.

Anyone who thinks this video is 'deep' or 'meaningful' probably likely overweight or has a social complex.

  • Fluffyumpkins for President! You are so insightful and full of warmth and compassion. Can you kiss my baby some time?

  • He wasn't trying to win YOUR approval, Lord von Fluffy. Only the mediocre strive to please everybody (I realize I've just provided a streamline for your next insult, but nevermind that).

And if your "thought" is meant to convey that YouTube commentators occasionally go overboard and make hyperbolic statements, all I can say is "Well, duh". In regards to "Television Show", however, it's a straw-man argument.

  • that was totally awesome, i am stuck to TV though, but nice job, this is going under my favorites!

  • Wow, it was amazing. Really, I loved the wholesome message you were trying to make. Good job.

  • hey Matt, I remember being at NYFA at Harvard with you in summer '05, doubt you remember me but I was one of the acting students. I'm glad to see your video is on youtube I remember liking it

  • I love the projecter at the very end that falls apart!

  • Beautiful...raves the NEW YORKER

    ASTONISHING!...says LARRY KING

This was a very good movie, i am faving it. Its more of a drama though...

  • ...Wow, I really hate all of the people complaining about it not being pure comedy. I think that it was really cool, and it reminds me of all of the Celestial Navigations stories for some reason... Either way, it was a good story, and you did an awesome job with it.

  • ...wow i really hate ass kissers/brown noisers, and people who complain about others complaining

  • Yeah, this isn't really comedy. You should probably change the category to Entertainment.

But, it was still a good video.

  • I agree with you quido

  • τι να πει κανεις

  • That's what she said.

  • It was good, but not great.

The effects and the acting could have been better. The story was brilliant though.

  • nice production values...a ream or two of brown paper will go a long way, huh?

  • Um, what?

  • the flyers all over the walls, you did put them up, right?

  • Nope, ILM added them during post-production.

  • Oh, my bad...I just realized that they are orange, to match all the other orange elements. Sorry to confuse.

You movie is brilliant, btw. I wish I made it. TV is one of my favorite themes. TV and school.
