Spinning drumset =/= considerable talent. Sure, he's popular and pretty good at what he does, but other current drummers have so much more talent than him! People really only worship him because he's popular or because they don't actually play a percussion instrument.

To the guy saying others "paved the way for these faux paux rockstars", which by the way is incorrect spelling as the term is 'Faux Pas'. Your statement is equivalent to saying that the Model T paved the way for the turbo charged Camero. I don't know about you but I would MUCH rather be driving the Camero. It's called progression. You can keep living in the past and claiming that the best music was in the 70s and nothing can compare, but I can unbiasedly say Travis Barker is incredibly talented.

How did he make his drums have a synth sound and sample "West Coast Shit? " And how did his "Drum Solo" have a bass line ? Remove the sampling and the scratching and the bassline and let's hear it raw. Yeah. That's what I thought. Peter Criss from KISS or John Bonham from Led Zepplin...now that's a drum solo.

Next time you pick up sticks, ask your friends to spin you around and tilt your drums to see if your "Solo" sounds better.

He's a good musician who can put on a good show. What's wrong with that? He may not be the best, but he's still very good. And that's exactly what KISS was. A bunch of musicians who were definitely not the best at what they did, but they put on a great show.
