He was also Dwyane Ingalls Glascock (as alter ego)...he was the only one allowed to play a remake of the song "Pop-Music" (hilariously called "Wop-Music")...all about weird habits of the italian brothers from Revere, MA. (Cuz Charles was Italian I'm told)
Long time ago...now we have...jackoffs like Limbaugh crooning about nothing in particular.
Charles was complaining that no one had brought them in food one morning. I was on my way in to Northeastern. So I decided to bring the crew some pastry. He was very gracious and asked if I wanted to stay and watch the rest of the broadcast. Very cool!
God I miss the fun this station shared with it's listeners ....

Cool,I remember this..
FYI...Bill Bracken and Deek (both ex-WBCN) are still doin' the rock thing (we wouldn't have it otherwise!) with Age Against The Machine
Also- we JUST recorded a tune that we wrote that GARY CHERONE of EXTREME (ex-VAN HALEN, TRIBE OF JUDAH) recorded vocals on.
Its under the band name "ANKLELOCK". Tune is "Comin' To Get You"- which is on ITUNES, AMAZON, NAPSTER, CDBABY and so on...

I met him when I was a waitor at Legal's (100 years ago) and thought he was a great guy.
As a matter of fact, he invited me to sit in and watch him broadcast The Big Mattress.
The only thing that threw me was how phsyically small their operation was!
BCN was just a few cramped rooms in a basement by The Fenway!
Great fun, though.
