I remember when this first came out, and I FINALLY made it to Rex's Lair. Damn near shit myself when this track played (5.1 Surround at about 80decibels or so), and then had to look up....and up.....and, oh sweet jesus, still up, to see the top of the thing. Then I realized THAT was likely the final boss (was wrong, but not by much).

To this day, I don't consider someone a hardcore PS1 gamer unless they beat the Rex WITHOUT going between its legs, and going for the Big Boss title.

i love rex's lair theme,i don't know why but this theme by itself catches so much of the seriousness that goes in the game,is like you can feel that there is a BIG ASS FUCKIN PROBLEM goin on,and by the way,rex could kick ray's ass anyday,ray could move faster an whatever,but it can't fuck rex's RAIL GUN

Ah, MGS. All of the Metal Gears are good, but so far this one's the only one I would call a masterpiece. Haven't played 4 yet though. But I won't be keeping my expectations high, what I've seen, it's too much toilet humor and random stupidity, or stupid randomness...

Member this. MGS1 is just the definition of a Classic game. You can't forget it. MGS1 = My favorite game of all time. Always will be no matter what. The memories I collected were unlimited. I can't say that for many games at all. Maybe for Smash bros, GTA 3 and Diablo 2. But MGS1 beats them all.
