I think the Colosseums of the Roman empire, and the practice of feeding christians and criminals to lions belong in the period known as antiquity, and not the medieval period, though. But still; very informative.
Its horrifying tp think that people could manage to sit there and torture a person, hear them screaming & see their agony, but continue to torture them. I was in Spain and we passed by a torture museum with things that were used in the medieval ages, & was horrified to see how creative they were with the tools they used. But I think that the worst possible form of torture, by far, has to be the Iron maiden. Just the thought of that thing sends a shiver down my spine. >_<
I can't believe how anyone at all can actually cause so much pain and suffering to another living thing (persons and animals, for that matter)! How horrible! I wonder how they were able to sleep at night after doing something so awful. They were probably heartless monsters. Poor people who got tortured.
