  • So which do you like more Spd2 or Bfd2?

  • 0:04 sounded like the beginning to d'yer maker

  • I got it running! Thanks I'm glad I took the plunge. Super easy to set up and they sound brilliant!

  • Hey how do you record the drums into BFD? I was thinking about picking up Eco because I can't afford the BFD2 right now but want to be able to midi record and clean up timing issues that way. I use Reason, Protools and Ableton in my setup. Looking at all the vids I haven't seen anyone actually record what they are playing.

  • @PersistenceRecords you would bring up BFD as a plugin in whatever DAW you are using. For example I use Cubase, it's a matter of adding in a Virtual Instrument.

  • God Dayum! When you first hit the hats I was like "why would you use a real set of hats with an elec. kit? The sounds from this are incredible!

  • Hi dude , can you explain me how do you hook up the Motu Mk3 sound card to your mac?

I ask that because I whant to buy this sound card and use it on my Mac .

    Nice video.

  • Great sound and playing! I am going to change my setup to yours. I have read and heard alot of drum samples out there and i think BFD is the most authentic acoustic drum sound out there. I have triggered EZDrummer but i thoutht they sounded syntetic even tweaked, but its just preference.

I would like your opinion on all the vst pluggins you used and what sounds the best for a big fat rock sound kit? Superior Drummer 2 or BFD2? I appreciate your time John

  • Cool thing.

I only think you should reduce the volume of the room mics a bit.

  • see TheTechHead's above comment. also the unnatural choke of the hi hat @ 0:41

must be reverb mixed in with the samples; it wouldn't even do that if the reverb processing was realtime in the box.

  • See my description. The hihats aren't mapped correctly. As for reverb, it's a Ludwig Bohnham kit, it's all about reverb :). This kit was recorded with all the room mics.

  • surely it's just using the "line out" whether it be from the V-Drum "brain" or the output of the souncard

  • please could you tell how you record the v drums and what you need please ?it would be brilliant

  • midi cable to usb

  • midi cable from V-Drum To Recording Interface TheN You Need A Drum Software Like BFD 2, Superior Drummer Or EZ Drummer
