The sound of a real deltic has more bass but apart from that the model sound is very true to the real thing Climbing through Auchmill Road I would say the sound is excellent On YouTube you do not hear the sound like you do on the model at home where some quality is lost
The only thing I do not like is the revs die down before the loco moves away ,but in top notch it sounds just like the real thing and unlike the class 47 you cannot hear to joint in the sound loop
People that say this does not represent the true sound of the Deltic are talking rubbish. Bachmann have done well here

Sounds good to me I have read some say the sounds not good, but I disagree its exellent
