The thing I hated the most about this game was the hub world. It was beyond useless and required you to load like every 5 seconds. I like Sonic Color's stage select system. There's 6 acts, then a boss. Works out very nicely~
The game would have been an excellent game, had it not been released a year early. People really make this game sound like it's the shittiest game ever, but the fact is that the unstable controls and constant glitches and even the poor voice acting were a result of rushing a two year process and squeezing it into one year. You got to give the developers some credit, had the designers not been rushed to finish the game, it would've been the SA3 equivalent, an excellent game.

Namely Elise being the focus of Sonic's attention and the blatant Mario rip off notes in the game itself. (though Ironically, I found the humans most annoying in Sonic Unleashed HD (not Wii), despite them "fixing" them for that game. Again, it would've been good, but suffered what SA2 did, Sonic being where he shouldn't be.

I think we can all agree at least that Princess Elise just should not have been included in the game, or at least not the major focus. Probably as much as Maria from Shadow the Hedgehog. There, but not major. (Ruining Tropical jungle in the process. Waaah >_<)

my pet peeve was the first half of some stages for Sonic... those were like slower than what I was use to and yet I had some problems no thanks to glitches and the slowed down speed. the second part of the wave ocean was what I liked the best of the stage .
gosh this had almost everything to be a huge hit... but they rushed it into the market and it ended up in the mess we know today. The music is epic, the graphics are fucking gorgeous, although sometimes not very detailed, and the concept (not story) of the game was similar to adventures...
This is the best example of how to completely destroy a game using only 2 aspects: story and gameplay.
I gotta say, I love the music during the second part (where you're chasing the Egg Carrier). The speed stages always had the best music. The one at the end of Crisis City was frikkin AWESOME.
This game is a mockery of the Sonic Adventure series gameplay I know and love. It's because of this game that we may never see that gameplay style ever again. That's more than enough reason to hate this game.
@Neovenator231 Personally, I think EVERY Sonic game other than Adventure 2, the Rivals series and Labyrinth (well and Sonic 3 and Knuckles) are underratted. They're all good (except Rivals and Labyrinth, from what I've played) and enjoyable. Sonic fans just set their standards far too high and need to learn to enjoy a Sonic game for what it is, not what it isn't. (To me, SA2 is OVERrated. A fun game, but not the best by far. S3&K is good though).
@Neovenator231 i gotta say, the glitches were a turn off, they could have utilized the SA2 engine and fixed the camera. But all in all I agree, this game was underrated, with a little practice anyone can get this game down with the shoddy controls.

It's a shame this game was rushed and never got the chance to be completely debugged. This stage would have been an awesome homage to Emerald Coast.
Heck this game would have made a decent SA3 if Sega gave Sonic team an extra year to iron out the bugs. The plot however is a different story.

Does it have the loading issues on the ps3 that the xbox 360 version does? If it doesn't I may buy it on the ps3.

@scrubsfan2211 yes it does! I would seriously wouldn't suggest this game. It would e an OK game if there weren't so many glitches and long loading times. If you're gonna play a sonic game, don't make it this one.

my pet peeve was the first half of some stages for Sonic... those were like slower than what I was use to and yet I had some problems no thanks to glitches and the slowed down speed. the second part of the wave ocean was what I liked the best of the stage .

gosh this had almost everything to be a huge hit... but they rushed it into the market and it ended up in the mess we know today. The music is epic, the graphics are fucking gorgeous, although sometimes not very detailed, and the concept (not story) of the game was similar to adventures...
This is the best example of how to completely destroy a game using only 2 aspects: story and gameplay.

I gotta say, I love the music during the second part (where you're chasing the Egg Carrier). The speed stages always had the best music. The one at the end of Crisis City was frikkin AWESOME.

This game is a mockery of the Sonic Adventure series gameplay I know and love. It's because of this game that we may never see that gameplay style ever again. That's more than enough reason to hate this game.

@Neovenator231 Personally, I think EVERY Sonic game other than Adventure 2, the Rivals series and Labyrinth (well and Sonic 3 and Knuckles) are underratted. They're all good (except Rivals and Labyrinth, from what I've played) and enjoyable. Sonic fans just set their standards far too high and need to learn to enjoy a Sonic game for what it is, not what it isn't. (To me, SA2 is OVERrated. A fun game, but not the best by far. S3&K is good though).

@Neovenator231 i gotta say, the glitches were a turn off, they could have utilized the SA2 engine and fixed the camera. But all in all I agree, this game was underrated, with a little practice anyone can get this game down with the shoddy controls.
