@IndianPhatLute Star Trek has always been modern so I don't quite know where you are getting at. No, the reason the Trekkers shot the theme down was because for the most part the themes were original pieces of music (with one exception in TNG but even that theme is more recognized with TNG than TMP) the execs wanted to save money so instead of creating a theme from scratch they took a popular (at one time) song with similar themes and slapped it on the opening titles.

Heck even Star Trek was absent from the titles until S3
This was brilliant. If Hoshi and Travis were in it, and the cast names were over their images, it would be perfection, and better than the actual opening (I like the actual opening as well. But this would have been a better fit).
How could they have kicked this and picked the theme that they ended up using. I like Long Road, but it just doesn't have that Star Trek feel. This should have been the theme they used.
That would and should have been the opening of Star Trek Enterprise. Although I did like the song a long road. The song did, at it's heart, descirbe the evolution of crafts that would eventually get us to the stars. From Kitty Hawk to Cape Canaveral and beyond. Still I really like what you did and hope to see more. Keep up the good work my friend. 5 stars.

thats pretty awesome! I heard that there was a bit of a struggle about the theme and that in the end this "faith of heart" was chosen. Not really sure why. You know th background?
Apprently the studio didn't like the new theme. They wanted to move AWAY from the ST franchise [Hence no star trek on the intro] and make like a stand alone series.
Think SMALLVILLE of Star Trek... n since songs in intros were the new trend... they did that.

This is absolutely brilliant! So much better than the original. If only they'd stuck with the basics. Still think ENT was an amazing show!
